00:00Bristol Rovers picked up their first point of the League Two season

00:04as they drew 0-0 at home to Oldham Athletic.

00:08John Stead, the assistant head coach, gave his reaction following the full-time whistle.

00:12Yeah, there is positives.

00:14I think that was a performance that is much more what we expect from the lads

00:20and what they're capable of.

00:21I'm really disappointed for them because three points would have been massive

00:25and I think it's what they would have deserved.

00:27But yeah, a point, we're on the board and I think it certainly gives us hope

00:32and it gives us the opportunity now to try and really build and recognise

00:36that things are going in the right direction.

00:39There's still time and it's going to take time.

00:41But there were some promising moments tonight for sure.

00:44You said it there, the performance probably deserved all three points.

00:46It was just a case of not being able to get the ball in the back of the net in the end.

00:50Yeah, it was, yeah. Huffed and puffed a little bit.

00:52We had some good opportunities and I hate to keep saying it,

00:55but on another day, you know, we score a couple of goals,

00:58but that's been a little bit the story.

00:59I think the rounded performance was a lot better tonight.

01:03The energy was there.

01:05The way that we moved the ball was a lot cleaner at times

01:08and I think we managed to create an atmosphere in the stadium

01:12which we haven't yet this season, so that was exciting.

01:14And Bristol City's Zach Viner has said that the Robins' 0-0 draw

01:19against Charlton Athletic was a tough test for the side

01:22but that they were worthy of picking up something from the game.

01:26Yeah, I think so.

01:28We obviously pushed, we scrapped, we knew what sort of game it was going to be

01:31and, you know, it got to a point in the game where it's, you know,

01:36if you don't feel like you're going to win the game, definitely don't lose it.

01:40Cliché obviously helps that.

01:41It's been a while in the league that we've got one.

01:45So, yeah, it was a tough performance.

01:47We knew what obviously they were going to bring and we stood up to it.

01:50And obviously in the context of the game, that clean sheet is vitally important.

01:54It ensures that we come away with at least a point.

01:57No, absolutely. Absolutely.

01:58It's so important.

01:59We try and obviously get one every game, naturally.

02:01Games don't go the way that we want every time, obviously.

02:04But today we knew that they were going to be a direct team

02:07and, you know, they were going to try and fight and scrap.

02:09And every sort of time we've played against Nathan Jones teams,

02:12they are like that.

02:13And that's obviously a tough test.
