00:30It was quite an eventful eight-hour flight.
00:38One man started smoking a cig in the back of the plane, there were many a crying baby,
00:42and two men started fighting.
00:43Plus, two of my friend's luggage did not show up upon landing.
00:46But as we all know, imperfect travel is what makes for good stories.
00:50All right, blogging in public already is the first thing I could think of.
00:56It's true, I do love me a European bathroom.
01:11The door goes all the way to the floor, it's more private, anyway.
01:14Hello, guys, this is Taylor.
01:16This video needed not much of an introduction, but a group of 11 of my girlfriends and I decided
01:20to take a week-long trip to Tuscany, Italy.
01:23I want to keep this light so I will not dive too deep into the historical details of the
01:26places that we saw on this trip, but believe me, we saw some medieval stuff.
01:30And I had been to Italy before, but never to Tuscany or Rome, so please enjoy this with me
01:34for my first time.
01:35Hi.
01:36Woo!
01:37Hi.
01:38Woo!
01:39Hi, Laura.
01:40And I'm like, I'm not in your shoes.
01:42What would you like to say to the people?
01:46We took quite a long drive from our airport in Rome to our Airbnb in Tuscany, and we had
01:51the best time blasting old Taylor Swift songs the whole entire way.
01:55We're talking lyrics from 2006 that somehow still live rent-free in my head.
02:02And after settling in our Airbnb, we did the most Tuscany thing ever and headed straight
02:06for La Bracesca winery.
02:22After lunch and wine tasting, we headed for the lovely town of Pienza, which has a population
02:27of only 2,000 people.
02:28And I could not help but notice how much it looks like parts of Northern California,
02:32minus the 15th century buildings, of course.
02:36Obviously, Tuscany is a great place to eat.
02:43We're talking pasta every single day, and of course, wine with just about every meal.
02:48So I personally cannot think of a better sponsor of today's video than Bright Cellars.
02:52I have worked with Bright Cellars before, and they are awesome.
02:55They are a wine subscription service that matches you to wines from all over the world,
02:58curated to your palate.
03:00You take a fun seven-question quiz on their website, where they gather your taste preferences,
03:04and then send you personalized bottles directly to you in 100% recycled and plastic-free materials.
03:10So there's no need to go to the grocery store and try to choose a wine based on the label alone.
03:14My favorite part is that your box comes with wine education cards for each bottle,
03:18that tells you the tasting notes, suggested pairings, best serving temperature, and origin.
03:23Bright Cellars sent me six matches, and this time I am most excited to try the Folk and Fable Red Blend,
03:28because it was aged in bourbon barrels.
03:29And I just seem to like a good full-bodied red.
03:32As I've said before, I am not a wine expert, nor do I pretend to be.
03:35But I like wine nights with my friends, and I suppose taking the occasional trip to world-renowned wineries in Italy.
03:41But nonetheless, I do have fun with the wine education cards, and trying new bottles that I've never tasted before,
03:46that are personalized to my taste.
03:48So whether you're an expert, or a novice, I think that Bright Cellars is a great service.
03:53And Bright Cellars is giving you guys 50% off of your first six-bottle box,
03:57which is six bottles for $55 including shipping, which only comes out to $9.16 per bottle,
04:02and we love an amazing value.
04:04Click the link in my description to get started,
04:05and thank you again Bright Cellars for supporting my channel by sponsoring this video.
04:11What we did the next morning was a first for me, and an absolute highlight of the trip.
04:16We woke up at 5am for it, and it was totally worth it.
04:20It was just the most peaceful and serene experience.
04:43There's really no adrenaline involved, you just quietly hover over the landscape.
04:48In fact, it was so quiet, I actually couldn't believe it.
04:56Here's a clip on full volume, this is not muted.
05:06We saw several deer and other animals running through the wheat, plus a wild boar.
05:10And I did not know they were this fast.
05:12They're really fast, wow.
05:13And then of course, there is no combination quite like some champagne at 7am,
05:22frolicking through the wheat fields, and stopping to smell the sunflowers.
05:25And the rest of the day involved throwing fresh cherry tomatoes into each other's mouths.
05:50And exploring slash having dinner in the town of Setona.
06:00The next morning was something a bit different.
06:12We headed to Solomeo, which is a very small town in the region of Umbria.
06:17But what this town is most famous for today is that it has been largely restored by Brunello Cucinelli,
06:22a famous Italian luxury fashion brand founder and creative director.
06:40We actually got to take a walk through some of their factories there.
06:43And even though I did not buy anything, it was so cool to see how much care and detail
06:47goes into very high-end luxury goods like this.
06:49And then going somewhere that almost has as high of a population
06:53as the neighborhood that I grew up in in Los Angeles,
06:55we headed to Siena that evening.
06:57We toured through the beautiful medieval church
06:59and then got to see the rehearsal for Siena's famous horse race.
07:03And you should have seen how excited the people in the streets of Siena were for this horse race.
07:08It's a huge thing there.
07:11You actually would have thought that the World Cup was happening.
07:13There were that many people and it was awesome.
07:15Ending the evening with a golden hour dinner and some Aperol spritzes
07:19and beginning the night with even more wine and some more 2006 Taylor Swift.
07:23I will not subject you to our singing
07:25and I'm also just not in the mood to get a copyright strike today.
07:27But it was one of our most fun nights together.
07:34Riding these horses through the Tuscan landscape.
07:36But I must also say I got stung and I'm pretty sure it was a sting and not a bite
07:40because it had that painful vibration.
07:42If you've been stung by a bee, you know what I'm talking about.
07:44But I got stung in the palm of my hand by some bug while I was on the horse
07:48and I, you know, I hit it off right away so I didn't get a good look at it.
07:51But weeks later, the evidence remains.
07:55Should I be concerned?
07:56Later that evening, we had our final dinner in Tuscany
07:59so we all got a little dressed up
08:01and I had borrowed my friend's drone back in New York
08:03to take some amateur footage while in Italy.
08:05He sent me the footage afterwards and there's some good shots
08:08but also just look at this masterpiece that I managed to capture.
08:15I know it takes time to get good at flying them
08:17but as the daughter of two pilots, I will work on my drone skills.
08:25On our last day, we left our place in Tuscany
08:27and headed to Tifoli for lunch and a tour of Villa d'Este.
08:30Villa d'Este.
08:32Villa d'Este.
08:36You weren't supposed to hear that.
08:37Which is a 16th century villa
08:39and then we headed out to our final night out in Rome.
08:42And spoiler alert, I had the time of my life.
08:44We rented vintage Fiat 500s to drive around the city
08:47and let me tell you, that is one way to see Rome for my first time.
09:00Got a dopamine rush, got a major lead crush
09:03when you're next to me.
09:07Got my heart up on my sleeve.
09:09Can I hide the way I feel when you're next to me, girl?
09:13Got the kick in every move
09:17and I fought us like a fool for you, for you.
09:22Wish I knew just what it was
09:24but why should I make a fuss
09:26just after you're next to me, girl?
09:29Something special done arise
09:31Something special that I like about you, about you
09:36There's a mystery entwined something that...
09:39This is one way to see the Coliseum.
09:42I'm thinking!
09:48I will forever be chasing the feeling
09:50of standing up in a vintage Fiat 500
09:52with the wind blowing in my hair
09:54driving around the Coliseum during golden hour.
09:57Actually euphoric, it was so much fun.
10:00After dinner, a long night out
10:02and flights the next morning
10:03a group of us just decided to stay up.
10:066 a.m. 5 a.m. in the morning
10:09Best time to see Charlie Fowler
10:12First time
10:13So we went to Trevi Fountain at 5 a.m.
10:24before all the tourists showed up
10:26except us, of course
10:27and watched the sun come up
10:28Until next time, Turtle out
10:38Wow, look at the legs
10:40It has an oaky afterbirth
10:43It's a joke from the office
10:44I did not make that up
10:45I wish I did
10:46Woo!
11:01Woo!
11:03Woo!
11:05Woo!
