00:09so I spent a long weekend at the Sagamore Resort to check it out.

00:11The lake is fed by mountain streams and sits close to its water source,

00:14two factors that help it stay free from pollution.

00:16Plus, a large portion of the lake is surrounded by protected old-growth forest

00:19and backed by the Adirondack Mountains.

00:21And these days, the water quality is painstakingly monitored by teams of scientists.

00:25Thanks to the Sagamore's help with these conservation efforts,

00:27guests can enjoy 100 miles of clear lakeshore and over 170 islands.
