00:00This is the homeowner of a little bit of fire.
00:04I'm going to go ahead and cook it.
00:08I'm going to turn the heat over to the first time I've got to use.
00:11I'm going to cook it and cook the kitchen.
00:15I have to come in to cook the kitchen.
00:19I'm going to cook it.
00:21I'm going to cook it.
00:23I'm going to cook it.
00:25I'm going to cook it.
00:27We are also using the food box.
00:32It's been the first time series.
00:34The food box has arrived at the bottom of the bottom of the back.
00:40The food box is also watered in the front.
00:45This is the pod stitch on the bottom of the back.
00:51The best option is to soak the food box.
00:57like a video, I'm going to show you how to make it.
01:08I'm going to show you how to make it.
01:15I'm going to show you how to make it.
01:20to consider the first thing around the world's world.
01:24Let's get started.
01:29We are going to have two or three options here
01:34in a very different space.
01:42We have a lot of different options to have in the world.
01:46The first time I made a product at home, I used to make my own brand new products.
01:53Fry in case you want to make a product brand new product,
01:58it gives me a brand new product brand new product brand new product.
02:03I also suggest that you want to be successful with multiple products
02:15Today we're taking a look at the Kaido N-Scale JR East Yamanote Line E-235 Series EMU.
02:39If you're unfamiliar, the Yamanote Line is basically Tokyo's most important and popular
02:43rear line, it connects to all around the city by going in a big loop.
02:46This is also my first N-Scale train set, thanks to BanzaiHobby.com for sponsoring this video
02:51and sending me this through review for free.
02:53They are an online hobby store from Japan, if you want you can check them out, link in
02:56the description.
02:57So this set comes with 4 cars, 2 end cars, a pantograph car, and a regular standard coach.
03:03So let's get started on car 1.
03:04So this is the first car in the formation, where the train driver operates the train.
03:08So on top it says Yamanote Line, it's a LED display.
03:11Some headlights and marker lights on the sides, a number with this blue tinted line.
03:15And actually didn't know this, apparently they have 3 windshield wipers, 2 at the bottom
03:18and then 1 on the side.
03:20For the interior, there's some train controls, set number 3, and this futuristic pixel gradient.
03:25Pretty cool design.
03:26Then the face has this line green border around it.
03:28It actually sticks out away from the body, making it more square.
03:30Then at the bottom we have the Shibata train coupler.
03:33And interestingly enough, it's pretty much static, so it does not move at all.
03:37Then we have the plow at the bottom, it's being held by some support beams on the sides.
03:41There's also some suspension in this car.
03:42Alright, so now let's check out the sides.
03:44So apparently this rooftop antenna is a separate piece.
03:47Here is the JR logo, JR stands for Japan Railways.
03:50Here's a side cab window and a crew door for the conductors and train drivers, nicely molded
03:55in detail with some small printing at the bottom.
03:57Then below we have this bogey with some free rolling wheels.
04:00The passenger doors are painted in green with a latch on one side.
04:04And the windows are tinted in this greenish-bluish color.
04:06Moving along we have this singular window here, with a vent on top, molding at the bottom.
04:11Another doorway.
04:12Then some underside detail with a lot of boxes.
04:14Moving along we have this air conditioner on the roof, it's pretty much on all cars.
04:18Display board here.
04:19And a standard window here with line divider.
04:21Yet another door here.
04:23Check out the little details all around.
04:25In the back we have the final set of doors.
04:26It says the car number and accessibility.
04:29And a small window here at the end, which is where the gangway to walk between the cars
04:32is.
04:33There's no glass here so it's completely hollow.
04:36Gangplank at the bottom.
04:37Lots of multi-end detailings throughout.
04:39And they ship out a coupler.
04:40This time it's actually movable.
04:43On the side again we have a window here.
04:45Text at the bottom.
04:46And the rest is pretty much symmetrical.
04:48Maybe the underside detailing is different though.
04:50And if you look on the interior, there's actually a cab window door you can see right
04:53there on the left.
04:54As for the rest of the interior detail, there's honestly not that much.
04:58It's pretty flat in the inside.
05:00Maybe you can see some benches.
05:01Now let's go take a look on the roof detail.
05:03So in the front we've got some antennas.
05:05There's like two main designs.
05:07Some lines going across.
05:08The air conditioner in the middle.
05:09You can even see the fan blades on the inside.
05:12Some lines and rivets molded in.
05:13Overall looks pretty nice.
05:15And on the sides there's these two long bars.
05:17Then in the back we have another pair of antennas.
05:19These ones are painted white.
05:20Now let's check out what it looks like from the bottom.
05:22So in the front we've got the free rolling truck.
05:24Got some underside detailing.
05:25It appears to have a slot inside.
05:27And kato trains are made in Japan.
05:29Some more detailing at the bottom and the rear.
05:31And here's how the coupler moves.
05:33It kind of goes everywhere inside the box quite freely.
05:35So this is car 10 and it's actually special because there's different door spacing.
05:41This end has an additional window here.
05:43While if you look at the middle windows the first window is narrower than the other ones.
05:47Now let's flip it around.
05:48The top and bottoms are shiny but the middle is flat.
05:50And they even change the detailing per side just like the prototype.
05:53As for the roof there is like this box here.
05:56And two pedestals.
05:57Now this car has a lot less boxes than the first car.
05:59Each of these cars actually have different bottom detailing.
06:02And one thing I've noticed is these trapezoids around each of the parts that stick out.
06:06So I think that's just an artifact from the molding process.
06:08And here's the other side.
06:10So next we've got the pantograph car.
06:11It's also the molded car so it's quite heavy.
06:13So here's what it looks like on the end.
06:15Some wires going along to the top.
06:17The windows are pretty much standard.
06:18They're all the same size.
06:19Here's a closer view of the bottom detail.
06:21The interior is pretty flat.
06:23And here's a look at the other end.
06:25And notice the window dividers they do not line up per side.
06:27And here's a look on the bottom detailing.
06:29Now there is this giant box behind it because there is the motor inside.
06:33And if you look at the trucks you can see the gears like the traction motors.
06:36And the truck has a rod to connect with the motor with a magnet which is located in the
06:39middle.
06:40And here's the other side.
06:41Now this car is equipped with two pantographs on the roof.
06:43I like how they molded in all the wires and connections to attach to the pantograph.
06:47Which to raise it you simply just pull it up and rotate the bars at the top so it looks
06:51like this.
06:52Pretty cool looking.
06:53The other side pantograph has different detailing around it.
06:56And I like how they molded in the support arm as well and not just one.
06:59And this is where the train would draw its power from the overhead lines which they use
07:02DC power.
07:03So here's the last car, car 11.
07:05It's the other end car.
07:06Now how's it different from the first one?
07:08Well the roof detail is different.
07:09The white antennas they switch places.
07:11And car 11 has two additional pedestals in the back.
07:14And also the bottom detailings are different as well for each of these cars.
07:21So to connect the couplers you simply just push the fit in the slots.
07:25And there you go it's pretty secure.
07:28You can move it back and forth side to side.
07:30Here's the range of motion.
07:31It can rotate pretty sharp curves.
07:33And rotate apart from each other.
07:35And to uncouple you simply pull them apart.
07:40And now let's compare it to HO scale.
07:41So I have my AC 4400 here.
07:43Just see the size comparison between the two.
07:46Roughly N scale is half the size of HO.
07:47This train is 1 to 150 scale and roughly two of these cars equal one regular locomotive.
07:53Here's with my smallest HO scale locomotive the MP15 AC.
07:56An excavator, a Humvee, and the KD coupler height gauge.
08:00It's roughly 5 inches long.
08:01So now let's go take a look at the tracks.
08:03So here's your standard straight track.
08:05They have painted wooden ties, a uni joiner at the end.
08:07Here's what it looks like underneath.
08:09One thing that caught my eye while looking at the bottom of these.
08:11The middle parts are actually semi-circles.
08:13And again made in Japan.
08:15And they also added some black spots in the balance for detailing.
08:17So now as compared to my HO scale uni track.
08:20It's actually pretty similar in length.
08:21Just the N scale is a tad bit longer.
08:23And here's the N scale track.
08:25It's 45 degrees.
08:26Comparison with HO.
08:27And it comes with these shorter tracks.
08:29At first these two look the same.
08:30But at the bottom one of them is actually a feeder track.
08:33And they have holes on the sides for the wire to slide out of.
08:38So to feed power to the track you simply put in this blue wire inside the slot.
08:42And then put the wire off to one side.
08:44Very convenient.
08:45So next up we have this level crossing track.
08:47And it's also used as a re-railer.
08:49So there are some grooves for that.
08:50Then if you look at the bottom you see there's two pairs of teeth.
08:53And this is where you attach the slope road.
08:55You simply slide it in the slot.
08:57And you would do this on both sides.
08:58So it looks like this.
09:00It also comes with this additional piece.
09:01Now at first I had no idea what's it for.
09:03But it turns out you can add it to the side of it as well.
09:06And connect another level crossing to the side of it.
09:08Now you can't attach another slope to it.
09:10Now here's the dedicated re-railer to put rolling stock on the tracks easily.
09:14There's also a ruler on one end and at the bottom there's some slots so you can line
09:17up the tracks.
09:18You can't know.
09:19Here's the muss on another way.
09:19And it stops.
09:20It takes not to double down the tracks in the
09:44I'm going to put the bag down.
09:51I'm going to let it go.
09:57This is how I'm going to use my bag.
10:05I'm going to put the bag down.
10:10I also got a siding to make the loop more interesting.
10:40I also got a big bowl of a little, but I got a big bowl of ice cream.
10:47I got a big bowl of ice cream.
10:50I like it.
10:55I'm going to mix it up.
11:04I'm going to mix it up.
11:07So, I'm going to put a little bit of water on the side of the side of the side of the side of the side of the side of the side of the side of the side.
11:37so
12:07So if you turn off the throttle, the lights come on, but it doesn't move at first, it
12:36takes a while and gradually builds up speed, so it has an incredibly low crawl speed.
12:41This is good because a lot of trains aren't good at slow speeds, they kinda jitter around,
12:45while this one is quite smooth.
13:05If you remember from the beginning of this video, it came with these boards, so you can
13:08actually swap the signs on the end cars.
13:10So here's how the shell looks like, office chassis inside.
13:13And here's what the interior looks like.
13:15And here's a view of the cab in the front.
13:18So you can swap the LED board, where it says Yamanote line, for one of these, bound for
13:21Shinagawa or Ikubukuro, so I put the Shinagawa on.
13:25So it looks like this.
13:26And apparently the windows can pop off.
13:32So here's the train fitted with the bound for Shinagawa sign versus Yamanote line.
13:36Although for far away, honestly, it's hard to tell exactly what it is.
13:40Only if you go up real close, you can tell they are different.
13:42So for my final thoughts, I've always wanted to get a Yamanote line train.
13:46It's very iconic and probably one of the best trains in Japan.
13:49If you ever travel to Tokyo, you'll probably ride it as I did when I visited Japan.
13:53Kado did a pretty good job with this.
13:54The coating has a nice shine to it, nice molding and detailing, and it's smooth both at high
13:59and low speeds.
14:00And I like the fact that you can turn the train on in DC just to show the lights on without
14:04the train moving, which is good for taking pictures.
14:07There's definitely a lot of subtle details that I learned just having this model in person,
14:11like the fact that the number in the cab has its own light, and there's this blue line
14:14or the additional windshield wiper, front coupler doesn't move, the extra display
14:18signs.
14:19I found it pretty cool that the star set comes with this extra storage jar, so if you want
14:22to put in like spare tracks or accessories, put in there.
14:25It's a pretty nice star set and my first end skill set, so definitely a lot smaller than
14:30I'm used to, but you can fit in a larger layout in a smaller amount of space.
14:33It's relatively affordable, I mean if you get something like this in HO, it costs twice
14:37as much.
14:38They do have expansion sets to complete the full train, which is pretty long.
14:41Kado has so much more accessories in end skill than HO, like stations, bridges, crossing
14:46signals.
14:47And by the way, a huge thanks to BanzaiHobby.com for sponsoring this video.
14:50If you guys are interested in getting model trains from Japan, check out their website.
14:54They actually have a lot of variety and more than just trains, but hobby items in general,
14:59so check them out.
15:00But yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
15:01Let me know down in the comments what you guys think.
15:03What's your experience with N-Scale or Japanese trains?
