00:00Humans have been shipbuilders for a long time, and throughout the course of our history,
00:05we've invented amazing different types of boats.
00:08So in today's video, we're going to be taking a look at the 15 most incredible boat concepts.
00:14Number 15. Migaloo Submarine Yacht
00:17The term submarine yacht may sound strange, but it'll all make sense when you're on board this
00:24thing. Carrying a hefty price tag of $2.3 billion, this luxury vessel built for private use starts
00:31out as a mega yacht, but things really get interesting when it submerges below the water
00:36surface. It's any billionaire's dream toy. This migaloo can reach a depth of 1,500 feet and cruise
00:42underwater at 20 knots, and it's the most expensive privately owned yacht in the world,
00:48and sounds better suited for a Bond villain than it does an everyday person.
00:51On the surface, guests can enjoy the pool deck, the bars, the pool, the jacuzzi, and the beach
00:57club. But when it's underwater, the vessel's interiors become glass rooms that give some
01:03seriously breathtaking views of the deep blue, and any fish that you may come across. And when it
01:08does function as a submarine, there are still too many subs sitting in the tenders for when the owner
01:13needs even more alone time. Number 14. Nyack Luxury L1
01:19Another amazing choice when it comes to the world of small, personal submarines is none other than
01:25the Nyack Luxury L1. A much larger option than some of the other personal subs we're gonna see,
01:32this one is a whopping 63 feet long. This sub can dive down about a thousand feet, and it's designed
01:37with a teardrop shape, which makes it ultra-hydrodynamic. And if you're wondering why it looks more like a
01:43private jet, you should know that the design was intentional. Instead of rolling through the clouds,
01:47the folks in here will be rolling through the waves amidst the underwater world.
01:52Cockpits full of all sorts of bells and whistles, and whoever's lucky enough to pilot this thing
01:56has access to the usual things like sonar and forward-looking cameras, and even night vision
02:01for when you want to explore under the sea after dark. But that doesn't mean the people in the back
02:06seat can't have some fun either, because this vessel is built to offer six feet of headroom and
02:11can accommodate up to 12 people, meaning you can have an underwater party anytime.
02:15The sub is powered by two electric motors that allow it to achieve near-silence so as not to
02:21disturb or disrupt all the ocean life, and it even allows it to hover. But the coolest feature of
02:26this thing has got to be the transparent dome in the nose, which lets you look straight down to the
02:31ocean floor. And who knows just how many creatures are staring back at you, hoping to come inside.
02:36Number 13. Nomad 1000
02:40With a company name like U.S. Submarines Incorporated, it's pretty easy to figure out what they do all day.
02:47But having the level of imagination that they offer is a whole other story.
02:51The Nomad 1000 is a private luxury submarine that was designed to look like a fully loaded
02:57underwater yacht. For about six and a half million dollars, prospective buyers can work with a designer
03:03for a completely custom job. And at any depth, the cabin remains pressurized, so whoever's on board
03:09can feel like they're in a room on the surface at all times. The Nomad 1000 is 116 feet long and comes
03:16equipped with five staterooms and multiple common areas. And it's of course lined with portholes to
03:21give the guests perfect underwater views on all sides of the vessel. And so while this thing provides
03:26everyone with a maximum comfort, it's also a great way to explore the big blue and safe and comfortable
03:31environment. It can also accommodate up to 30 passengers, so the owners can celebrate their
03:36birthday under the sea or just host a casual dinner party with some breathtaking views.
03:41The Nomad 1000 has a range of 1,000 nautical miles and can stay submerged for up to 10 days,
03:48which is pretty impressive. This private luxury submarine may just be the perfect way to spend a
03:53week away from the office if you've got the cash.
03:56Number 12. Project Sea Lion
04:00What sounds like the title to a James Bond film is actually the name of the incredible amphibious
04:06vehicle, Project Sea Lion. It was a six-year endeavor from inventor Mark Witt. He set out to make the
04:12world's fastest amphibious car both on land and water. Witt went to work with TIG-welded aluminum and
04:18a Mazda 13B rotary engine in hopes that he'd make a vehicle that drives up to 180 miles an hour on land
04:25and 60 miles an hour by sea. So did he end up succeeding? Well, Mr. Witt may have made the car,
04:31but made it into the record books? He did not. But perhaps what makes this vehicle so special is that
04:36there's only one in existence, and Mark Witt doesn't feel the need to be the owner. His Project Sea Lion
04:42was listed for a quarter of a million dollars back in 2012, and while no one bought it, he's promised
04:48that whoever's willing to shell out that kind of dough will get all the help they need with making any
04:52further modifications, with the hope of finally speeding his way into the record books.
04:58Number 11. Kieran Design Nuzuri Yacht
05:01Announced in 2019, the futuristic Nuzuri Yacht is a 230-foot-long beast and can take you almost
05:09anywhere in the globe. With a max speed of 22 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles,
05:15if you don't feel like lounging around the deck anymore, you and some pals can take to the sea
05:19yourselves with its six jet skis and two tenders. While the all-steel and fiberglass exterior may
05:25come off as intimidating, things get a little fancier when you step inside, and are greeted by
05:30its wood and marble interiors. On top of the large crew that it takes to keep the ship up and running,
05:35it can comfortably house up to 20 guests in its 10 cabins. Hate sharing a living space, though? No
05:40problem, because the master suite will have you thinking you're in your own apartment with a private
05:45deck, shower, bathtub, and sauna. This mega-yacht is designed so that the main deck offers a full
05:50360-degree view of the open ocean, a full bar, pool, jacuzzi, and even a nightclub. Yep, the Nuzuri
05:58Yacht Superyacht comes decked out with a space for a nightclub. This is the one time you'll never have
06:03to worry about being on the list. Kieran Design has also teased that two Audi AI trail quattros will be
06:10parked for your enjoyment as well, which are unreleased self-driving electric vehicles. And
06:15if for some reason one of your guests is late and can't hop on board before you leave the port,
06:20all they need to do is hire a helicopter and land on the Nuzuri Yacht's helipad.
06:25Number 10. Glory. Glory, glory, hallelujah. The next concept boat on this list is designed by the
06:33eccentric, yet clever, Steve Koltsoff, and comes with just about everything you'd ever want out of a boat,
06:38and maybe even a little more. The boat concept, simply known as Glory, is nearly 600 feet long,
06:45and while it certainly looks like an old-timey sailboat full of hidden treasures, upon closer
06:50inspection you'll find that it's a state-of-the-art superyacht built with three foldable
06:54masts, a full-length pool, and a jacuzzi. But no superyacht is complete without its own aircraft
07:00hangar inside. So if the Glory is too far out to sea and you feel like being on land in a flash,
07:05this boat can make it happen. But whether or not you need to supply your own aircraft has yet to
07:10be revealed. But chances are, if you can afford one, then you can afford the other. The Glory brings
07:15some pretty groundbreaking technology to the table, with those three masts we talked about, because
07:20they can rotate and tilt, and even come with a heating feature so they don't ice over during
07:25those colder voyages. And of course, they can set their own sails with just the push of a button.
07:30And while Koltsoff's Glory is designed to be a luxury superyacht, it's been designed with
07:35scientific research in mind. So whoever's lucky enough to hop on board is going to be the luckiest
07:40researcher in history. Number 9. The Air Yacht
07:46Imagine you're sitting out on your luxury yacht, soaking up the sun, feeling the motion of the ocean
07:51rock you like a baby, and then listening to the calming sounds of the breeze gliding over the water,
07:57until suddenly you notice some birds flying overhead. And while your current situation is
08:02pretty solid, you realize that being as free as a bird would be the icing on the cake.
08:07Well, good thing the yacht designer Frank Darnett had the same exact idea and created the Air Yacht.
08:14The Air Yacht is an absolutely out-of-this-world concept that combines sea and air to provide an
08:19experience you really won't find anywhere else. Darnett's Air Yacht is going to give guests the chance to
08:25fly high and then land in the ocean with the same vessel. The concept sounds pretty outlandish,
08:31but he promises to deliver by 2026. The flying-slash-sailing Air Yacht concept is complete
08:37with three decks, multiple terraces, and a nice swimming pool, all of which you can enjoy while
08:42you're airborne. Just make sure to keep your arms and legs within the Air Yacht at all times.
08:47The design, though, does raise a lot of fair questions, like how will it take off,
08:51let alone fly with such a weight? But all we can do is wait and see, and try to hitch a ride.
08:59Number 8. Martini 6.0
09:01Alright, this entry on our list is going to leave you both shaken and stirred.
09:06The Martini 6.0 is an awesome concept boat, which is the child of a joint effort between
09:11Servo Yachts and Shuttleworth design. The Martini 6.0 is incredibly sleek,
09:17and looks like one of James Bond's hot toys, but will hopefully be our reality in less than a
09:22decade. The yacht is technically on the smaller side at 150 feet long, but the bells and whistles
09:28on board easily make up for those shortcomings. For starters, the Martini 6.0 is made of not one,
09:34but two hulls connected to a superstructure by an electro-pneumatic suspension system.
09:39It may sound a little complicated, but it's incredibly similar to the hydrofoils you'd see on
09:44smaller personal watercraft. The Martini 6.0 superyacht comes with multiple decks and a
09:50swimming pool, which is to always be expected, but there's even room for a helicopter up top.
09:55And while all of that is good fun, the best feature here has got to be the suspension system
10:00that's fully adjustable. The height can be adjusted to about 15 feet in the water to help eliminate
10:05seasickness altogether, because there's absolutely nothing worse than having to blow chunks while
10:10you're out on your yacht. Number 7. VY01. Let's face it, zero emission vehicles and carbon neutrality
10:20are the future of all vehicles, including boats, and the VY01 could be on the cutting edge of that
10:26trend. Designed by the German-based studio 3Deluxe, the VY01 superyacht combines luxury with a return
10:33to nature in the most awesome way. You can expect all of the usual amenities on board,
10:39but it's like no other because it contains a full garden too. And I'm not talking about small
10:45potatoes here. The VY01 superyacht houses a full-on lush green space, complete with small trees and a
10:52waterscape. This boat concept promises to be powered by hydrogen fuel cells that can recharge using
10:58biomethanol, which makes for completely silent engines. It's so quiet and fuel-efficient that
11:04you may even forget you're on a boat entirely as you travel over the 3,000 nautical miles before
11:08needing to recharge. The team at 3Deluxe has said that they want their VY01 to be a floating garden
11:14of Eden, and this looks just like that. But don't think that this modern-day Eden is going to be
11:20exposed to the elements and harmed by the salt of the ocean. Instead, this green deck is fully
11:24enclosed and surrounded by sensor-controlled louvers, meaning you can let in just the right amount of
11:30sunshine. Number 6. Shape
11:33The award for the most unique shape goes to the boat concept Shape. The Shape Yacht comes in at about
11:41230 feet long, with a design directly inspired by the shape of a swan, and can be spotted a mile away
11:49because of its signature gaping hole smack dab in the middle. So maybe they really took their design
11:54inspiration from a donut. But all jokes aside, this yacht has what it takes to be amazing,
11:59like the glass-bottom infinity pool on the top deck that lets you wave at the folks below and show them
12:05just what they're missing out on. And like so many others on this list, the boat concept has a big
12:10illuminated letter H on the top deck, meaning this is 100% helicopter-friendly. But Shape is really
12:16trying to help shape a better future for us all, because it runs fully on clean energy. The propulsion
12:22system is powered by hydrogen, and each and every onboard system gets its energy directly from the sun
12:27via the solar panel on the upper deck. So this means the nicer the days are, the better this swan-like
12:33yacht is gonna run. Number 5. Kairos
12:37The Dutch Yard Ocean Co. has cooked up a boat concept to put all others to shame. The Kairos is
12:44absolutely stunning, and looks like the top of a skyscraper is trying to peek its head out of the water,
12:48hiding the rest beneath the surface much like an iceberg. At a staggering 300 feet long, the
12:55superyacht Kairos has a totally symmetrical profile to make it as aesthetically appealing as humanly
13:00possible, which also means it's gonna make anyone who passes it on the sea incredibly jealous.
13:05Ocean Co. has gone on to describe their pride and joy Kairos as a living island, and it's really not
13:11hard to see why, because instead of having multiple decks, the yacht is spread across three plazas.
13:16And if the final product looks anything like their mock-ups, then a night on the Kairos will be
13:21nothing short of a red carpet event. Naturally, the Kairos will be built with a hybrid propulsion
13:26system that relies more heavily on batteries for energy, and saves the diesel fuel for more high-speed
13:31cruising. Kairos will jet through the water in complete silence and totally vibration-free.
13:37Life really is but a dream, and the Kairos is one dream that you won't want to wake up from.
13:41Number 4. Alice. If you've immersed yourself in the world of yachts and superyachts, then you'll know
13:49all about Lurson. But for those of you who don't, Lurson has been designing yachts since 1875, and for
13:56the last 150 years has proven time and time again why they are the top dog. They've managed to capture
14:03lightning in a bottle more than once, and they've done it again with their newest concept, Alice.
14:08Alice is hopefully going to take us all to Wonderland when it finally hits the oceans.
14:14And while it may not be the longest we've seen today, measuring at 320 feet in length,
14:18it certainly is the largest by volume, because Alice is working with not one, not two, but five decks.
14:26This is the ultimate superyacht, offering more space than any one person could ever need,
14:31unless they're throwing a massive party out on the water. Alice obviously offers multiple places to
14:36sunbathe, but as you move towards the front of the vessel, things get really tropical, because she's
14:41got a full garden and water feature for when the open ocean isn't enough for you to zen out.
14:46Another emissions-free concept, the only noise you'll hear is the chopper coming in for a landing on the
14:51upper deck. You can come aboard for an escape and then hit the helipad for an actual escape.
14:57Number 3. Codecasa Jet 2020.
15:00What's better than a yacht directly inspired by an aircraft? That's right, nothing. This is why
15:07Codecasa married the two with their design concept for their Codecasa Jet 2020. So, instead of
15:13reinventing the wheel, they took all of the best parts of a luxury private jet and just threw them
15:18into a yacht. For starters, there's the overall look. It looks just like an airplane gliding over the
15:24water. The Jet 2020 is just over 230 feet long, but the main 65-foot-long sun deck is absolutely
15:31stunning, with not only a swimming pool, but a covered gym, just in case you weren't able to get
15:35that beach body ready in time. But as you move to the rear of the aircraft, I mean yacht, you'll find
15:41that the vessel is designed especially so the rear resembles a tail of an aircraft. There are even rear
15:46radar antennas inside of a carbon fiber dome to mock an AWACS airplane, proving just how much thought
15:53and love went into coming up with something like the Codecasa Jet 2020. And if you're lucky enough
15:58to stay in the owner's suite, you'll be treated like you're the captain of the aircraft, because
16:03it's located right at the bow of the ship. Number 2. Lukaya
16:08Measuring nearly 500 feet long is the local boat concept known as the Lukaya. This yacht is built
16:15specifically to cruise the Bahamas, and there's no doubt that it's going to be the standout when it
16:20hits those crystal clear waters. The Lukaya was designed by Chiron Design to look like a Star Trek
16:26pirate ship, but this thing really takes things to a next level, because it's so much more than a boat.
16:32When you take a step inside, you'll think you've died and gone to heaven, because this is as close
16:36to a mansion on the water as you're going to get. The biggest interior features here on the Lukaya are
16:41the massive beach club, open air bar, and even an aquarium. Because why see the fish in their natural
16:47habitat under the sea when you can see them from the safety of the deck? There's also the full spa,
16:53which the designers at Chiron lovingly call the nude room. Lukaya is truly palatial, and most likely
16:59reserved for the wealthiest members of society who are used to the finer things in life. So while we
17:05may not be all that lucky enough to become millionaires and billionaires, we can always make
17:09friends with them. And when, with its three giant masts, you recognize this ship coming into port from a
17:14nautical mile away, you can join your friends on board.
17:18Number one, Project Galileo.
17:21There's only one thing to say about this last entry on our list. Wow.
17:26Created by Biederbeck Designs, Project Galileo doesn't even look like a boat.
17:31It looks like a small city drifting along on the high seas.
17:35This is one of the biggest boat concepts we've ever seen here, coming in at over 650 feet in length,
17:41and offering more than you could ever dream of. Truly, for starters, Project Galileo has a
17:47methanol propulsion system that will harness geothermal energy to help the massive catamaran
17:52cut through the water silently without leaving a carbon footprint in its wake.
17:56The Project Galileo catamaran is so insane that it comes with its own harbor in the center,
18:02allowing smaller boats to dock and join the party at the fold-down restaurant,
18:06and hang out on the gorgeous 260-foot-long pier. There are a total of 25 tenders, meaning all of
18:13your rich friends can come and go as they please, an outdoor cinema, a pool for when the ocean's a
18:18little too choppy for you, and there's even a hospital on board for when guests are having a
18:22little too much fun. Project Galileo offers plenty of reasons to stay and literally zero reasons to
18:28leave, with enough accommodations for 38 guests and another 75 crew members. All I can say is,
18:35Project Galileo better become a reality soon.
