00:00The Royal Thai Army clarifies that Ban Nong Jan area is situated within Thai territory.
00:06Regarding the case of Cambodians lodging complaints about the installation of barbwire fencing by Thai military forces in Ban Nong Jan area in Saka province,
00:17claiming the aforementioned territory as their own,
00:21Major General Vinh Thaisuwari, Army spokesperson, disclosed that the area in question is truly in sovereign territory of Thailand,
00:32located in Ban Nong Jan, Saka province, along the Thailand-Cambodia border between boundary pillars 46 and 47.
00:41The aforementioned area presents issues categorized into two components.
00:47First, the region constitutes a dispute territory where Thailand and Cambodia have been unable to reach agreement on boundary pillar placement,
00:57as the Cambodian side contends that the current boundary pillar positions have been relocated into their national territory.
01:07This issue needs to be resolved through bilateral mechanisms, such as the Joint Boundary Commission or JBC, to ensure a long-term solution.
01:18Second, historically, during the internal Cambodian civil war in 1977,
01:24Thai government permitted Cambodian refugees to temporarily relocate within Thai territory,
01:31demonstrating humanitarian compassion and adherence to humanitarian principles.
01:37However, upon normalization of conditions, certain Cambodian nationals refuse repatriation and continue residing within Thai territory.
01:48Furthermore, the Cambodian side has been identified as violating agreements within the dispute territory,
01:57by supporting the establishment of permanent settlements by their nationals, both within the dispute area and beyond the dispute territory on the Thai side.
02:08The Royal Thai Army, through Burapa Task Force, has conducted continuous protests and complaints against the Cambodian side through various forums,
02:19including local military units and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from 2014 to present.
02:28However, the Cambodian side has remained unresponsive, providing neither detailed explanations nor remedial actions.
02:38This evidence confirms that Thailand has consistently pursued peaceful solution methods.
02:45Regarding the installation of barbed wire fencing in various areas,
02:49the Army spokesperson revealed that this does not constitute boundary demarcation,
02:55but Murray represents security barrier placement to protect personnel,
03:00particularly preventing clandestine infiltration using exploitive ordinance to harm Thai forces,
03:07serving as security enhancement for military units, positioning only.
