00:00I got a question for you. This sounds insane for me even to ask this.
00:04Do you think the American media really doesn't even want a peace deal?
00:07Because they've seen they've been so critical of you every step of the way as you lead the charge for peace.
00:14It's an amazing phenomenon.
00:17I said that if in the settlement you've got Moscow, St. Petersburg, and thousands of miles around them,
00:23they would say, I made a bad deal.
00:24So the level of hatred and animosity is incredible.
00:32Not with all. I mean, we have great people up here.
00:34We also have terrible people up there that I think are told what to say.
00:39But, you know, in solving all of these wars, they don't even write about it.
00:43You know, I saw major wars.
00:44I saw wars that have been going on for 31, 35, and 37, and a couple of quicker ones.
00:50One that was going to go into a full-blown deal very quickly.
00:55You know, the one I'm talking about. It was a big one.
00:57But they don't even write about that.
01:00No matter what I do, no matter what, and, you know, this is not anything to do with you.
01:07It's probably to your advantage in a certain way.
01:09But no matter what I do, no matter what deal I make, from my standpoint, you'll come out good.
01:14Maybe President Putin will come out good.
01:17But they'll say Trump was absolutely horrible.
01:21It's just that, and I've lived with that for a long time.
01:24I've lived with it since just before the first election.
01:28I used to get great publicity.
01:30Now I get the worst publicity anyone's ever gotten in office.
01:34But I won in a landslide so that people understand.
01:37They're the only ones that count, ultimately.
01:39But I've also had great reporters.
01:41I've had journalists that are very good.
01:44But it's very sad when you do the right thing.
01:48As an example, they said, because of the fact that Vladimir Putin came to American soil,
01:55this was a tremendous defeat for Donald Trump.
01:57No.
01:59It was really wonderful that he did it.
02:02It was a hard thing for him to do, to be honest with you.
02:05It was the opposite of what they said.
02:07But they said it.
02:08Now, if he didn't come, they'd say that was also bad for Trump.
02:11There's no way.
02:13And there's just a great dishonesty of the press.
02:16And I think that's why it's lost its credibility.
02:18You know, its credibility is at an all-time low.
02:22We have a thing going on right now in D.C.
02:24We went from the most unsafe place anywhere to a place that now people, friends are calling
02:32me up, Democrats are calling me up, and they're saying, sir, I want to thank you.
02:36My wife and I went out to dinner last night for the first time in four years.
02:41And Washington, D.C. is safe.
02:44And you did that in four days.
02:46I'll tell you, it's safe.
02:47I had another friend of mine, he has a son, who's a great golfer, he's on tour,
02:52and he came in fourth yesterday in the big tournament where Scotty Scheffler made the
02:56great shot.
02:57And he said, his son is going to dinner in Washington, D.C. tonight.
03:03I said, would you have allowed that to happen a year ago?
03:06He said, no way.
03:07No way.
03:07He said, what you've done is incredible.
03:10And I think the people realize it.
03:12But the press says, he's a dictator.
03:15He's trying to take over.
03:17No, all I want is security for our people.
03:19But people that haven't gone out to dinner in Washington, D.C. in two years are going out to dinner.
03:25And the restaurants, the last two days, were busier than they've been in a long time.
03:31I walked around yesterday with MTG.
03:33If you can walk around D.C. with MTG and not be attacked, the city is safe.
03:37Thank you, Mr. President.
