European leaders arrive at White House for Ukraine talks

CGTN Europe

European leaders gathered at the White House for a closely watched meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Among those attending were NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Freidrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and French President Emmanuel Macron. They were received by White House Chief of Protocol Monica Crowley. The visit is expected to underscore Europe’s unity with Ukraine and to push for firm security commitments as part of any future post-conflict framework. Following his talks with Zelenskyy, Trump is scheduled to meet with leaders from Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Finland, the EU, and NATO in the East Room of the White House.
