00:00...Copernal Yanomami, I am currently director of the Rutucara Yanomami Association,
00:06representing 31 thousand Yanomami, two states, the state of Ruraima, the state of Amazonas,
00:14our Yanomami territory is located in the north of Brazil, on the border with Venezuela-Brazil,
00:21and I am working to defend the rights of the Yanomami, Iekuana and other indigenous peoples of Brazil.
00:32I would like to mention my speech about today, the scenario that we are suffering today,
00:42about the humanitarian crisis, a health crisis.
00:45So this is a very serious situation, and also the previous government left us in this crisis,
00:58very problematic in Yanomami land, and today we have a problem with 20 thousand miners in Yanomami land,
01:08our territory is destroyed, almost 4,400 hectares in Yanomami land, is destroyed,
01:18and there is also a 300% increase in illegal mining, so this is a very serious situation,
01:26and my Yanomami people, so this, I already, several complaints, national and international authorities,
01:34and I have also activated another platform, there like the UN and other institutions that support the situation of the Yanomami people,
01:49so this, as the Ducara Yanomami Association has already made a lot of complaints,
01:55so that, and now we are waiting for other government institutions,
02:01institutions they represent, they can help us in this situation.
02:10And I would also like to mention about violations, aggressions, threats, leadership in Brazil,
02:19that we are suffering from threats from politicians and authorities,
02:27wanting to end the lives of the leaders, right?
02:34So, we suffer this and are threatened with violations here in Brazil,
02:40and like my father, and I, and uncle Raonin, and Aindo Krenak,
02:48and other leaders that we defend the rights of the Yanomami people and the rights of indigenous peoples.
02:55And I would also like to mention about Terce Macotemporal,
02:59it's a great tool, politicians, other politicians are against it,
03:08they did in this Third Macotemporal against the Brazilian population,
03:13against the Federal Constitution, against indigenous peoples in this country, which is called Brazil.
03:20So, this, we, as mobilizations, indigenous peoples,
03:27and we entered into this big fight, because the Terce Macotemporal,
03:33it causes, impacts several problems that we are facing today,
03:41will open illegal mining, deforestation of the Amazon,
03:46and destruction of our rivers, freezing health,
03:52not having quality education in the territories,
03:55and other demarcations that have not been demarcated,
04:01previous governments and the last four years.
04:05So, it harms several actions,
04:10several demands of our indigenous movement,
04:15and also, importantly,
04:17these demarcations that were not demarcated,
04:21extremely difficult,
04:22but, and we are continuing,
04:25fighting in this,
04:28improving the lives of the indigenous population,
04:31So, that's what I wanted to mention,
04:34and others, and demarcations are a process,
04:37and we are continuing, fighting and rectifying
04:40to demarcate other indigenous territories.
04:43So, I wanted to draw attention too,
04:46Brazilian society,
04:49and support us, the indigenous movement,
04:53we are people of the forest,
04:55we are human beings,
04:57we are not other people,
05:00so, Brazilian society,
05:02supports indigenous chaos,
05:04and also support,
05:06denounce the destruction of nature,
05:11logging,
05:13and health, education, violence.
