06:51the disney villain yes not only were they scary but they were fabulously evil
06:58okay designers we're in a new home with new rules so for your first challenge you will be forming
07:06fashion houses heidi what are you doing to us one house will be house of princess while the other
07:15will be the house of villains please stand on the side that your work is right here right here oh my god
07:23oh my god your house is the house of princess okay i don't want to sew in all black that makes you
07:30house a villain each house must create a cohesive collection that's c word for the very first runway show

07:42oh you only have one day to create this look you guys have 45 minutes to brainstorm to sketch
07:53and then you run off to mood to get your fabric oh god i'm so happy to be here and i can't believe

08:02love you heidi what's happening i am having a moment of ptsd because my first challenge
08:15in season 19 was a group challenge and now i'm in season 21 and it's also a group challenge i'm
08:23getting hives i'm sweating i'm like having panic attacks i cannot be eliminated first not again
08:41our first challenge is a group challenge so we have to sketch and figure out what we're gonna
08:46have going on so we can bring these princess looks to life it is game on let's go what's that one thing
08:52that can do all throughout all the collection i think it's gonna come down to the fabric selection
08:59i definitely got inspired by ursula and since i have a delicious curvaceous girl as a model i want
09:07to do a powerful suit fit it all the way below the knee and then it's gonna go out i want to make sure
09:11her body looks like snatch i think a villain has a good cape and if i can switch up the idea of having a
09:19cape we like that yes i grew up on a farm when i created utica it was a conduit for my queer artistic
09:28energy because back on the farm i am the gay community i'm the mayor of queerville i mostly do
09:36these one-of-a-kind bespoke pieces for my community but not everybody wants to ready to wear a drag outfit
09:43so i'm worried about that it could get too costumey if i don't do it right
09:51it has to be cohesive so we should we should think of a theme like a color palette i work with my
09:56brother 24 7 so if i can win this for myself it's proving myself i'm excited to intimidate the other
10:04designers and i'm excited to intimidate my brother the color palette is right the fabric that i brought
10:10from home it's literally that fabric the butterfly but it's in pink and it has orangey tones
10:18the butterflies are blue so let's have the inspiration of our collection be butterfly

14:33i was second runner-up in project runway philippines season one and first runner-up in dress my tour
14:42being in those competitions will help me to finally win this competition no more runner-ups but to win

14:55i can't really get a read on vj this is a team challenge and you have to be a little receptive
15:04to other people's critique and interest in what you're doing she really is in her own zone
15:09and to us it seems like she's being an asshole

15:32color palettes coming together and that transition couldn't be any more perfect
15:36i'm feeling like my team is a winning team and i guess you can call me the team leader just because
15:42they actually fell in love with the fabric that i wanted to use for this challenge but you know
15:46i'm a turn of strata i can make anyone fall in love with anything i think we're doing it you guys
15:51house of princess it's a lot of pink it's a lot of ruffles and there's some butterflies in there
15:58it's not my flavor i'm glad i'm not on team princess yeah i hate it as well

17:56things you could do to make this feel really cool and interesting oh no i have done a waist like this
18:03before and i love asymmetrical i do a lot of asymmetrical so i don't want to give that up

18:15wow this is a little number the joseph mccray puffer beautiful shape i like to play with shape
18:21a lot i have a degree in electrical engineering i think the engineering has very heavily influenced my
18:26design aesthetic and you look at the structure and you look at the like silhouettes so i'm going to
18:31create a mean puppet jacket along with a wrapped satin skirt in this midnight periwinkle repulsory
18:38fabric people may not directly relate it to a princess but listen every princess need a jacket
18:43i'm feeling low-key tinkerbell for real for real making these cohesive is still part of the challenge
18:48don't just make a fabulous look for you i know you don't want to listen this is a skin situation but
18:54wait that's all out no it's not wait wait this is disney oh i know where are my pearls
19:07antonio what is happening over here so what i'm going to do is i'm going to do this bubble dress
19:13lace up in the back and then i want to do a coat over it with these two different colored tools all over
19:19the coat so it will be like a reveal you're making kind of two dresses that you might not finish why
19:27can't this piece just be the moment but this one's done already i'm just waiting for my model it's done
19:32because literally like my intern could sew that in 30 minutes like that's not hard
19:38what what the don't lose it completely but like what else could this be could it have sculpture could it
19:45have some other element that anyone else has something's got to be cohesive like don't you
19:50think the butterfly thing is because of you right yeah okay so then you gotta be amazing i won't let
19:58you down i feel like he kind of just like slapped me in the face he was like my intern can make that
20:05in 30 minutes i'm like okay i'm a gemini i don't take critiques i take critiques very like don't tell me
20:11what to do but i'm gonna step it up step me up no you chin what is your work normally like my work
20:23is more like very futuristic okay very edgy and very avant-garde so i think you should do that
20:29because this doesn't feel very futuristic okay it doesn't feel that avant-garde to be honest i
20:34haven't made garment like this before for my brand i always like you know making ready to wear it
20:38it's always very futuristic very powerful i'm here to challenge myself my inspiration for this
20:44look is from taka so i'm making this like tool and lace dress with flowers and veins growing over
20:52and with a veil please don't be ugly okay thank you christian hey sus what's happening i'm basically
21:00doing a powerful coat dress all right i also have another dress underneath right so i think the challenge
21:07for you is how to make this feel more fashion like something forward thinking i know in my head
21:15how the final product's gonna look and i think it's elegant now it's about how to make this feel like
21:20really modern you know yeah okay i would love a tour of the brain well we know that a villain loves a
21:30cape i'm doing my version of a cape where the cape is going to connect to the top of the head love it
21:38and then clean simple classic underneath so this is a pant and a top yeah pant and a top then the twist
21:46oh i love a twist i will pattern in a curved glove pattern i don't think they want it to feel too costumy
21:54so i do think that that is important with your look because you have such a dramatic moment try not
22:02to get in my head about it i'm used to grant drag on the stage so i am trying to edit how's the team
22:11going we've got some independent creatures we do of course team we have a bitchy one in here
22:17the assassin one yeah this thing over there in the corner oh vj oh yeah she's what we call the
22:24business interesting wow i don't think there's a problem with being but when it's your own team
22:34come on we just have a rectangle and fabric draped on the mannequin i i don't know what like the vibe
22:40is you have four more hours to finish everything and then you will be sending your models to the
22:45ulta beauty salon and i'll see you guys in a little bit for model fittings don't turn into a pumpkin

23:06first challenge let's step back it doesn't look cohesive we need to add an element i think the
23:13cohesiveness is all about the flowers right you're also the only one with lace so we have to
23:19incorporate lace somewhere i don't have more lace well you need to cut a little piece so it needs to be
23:25cohesive have you ever made a collection yeah being cohesive is making it that it looks like it's from
23:33the same collection and same design i know but why lace no one has lace that's what i'm saying no one has
23:37this leather no one has this velvet i'm adding velvet on mine i'm adding that your flower as well
23:43mr yushin this is a team challenge i'm not meaning taking his lace to like sabotage him i'm just trying
23:49to do the best that i can for the red i mean it's beautiful but it seems like we don't have red for
23:54any other looks yeah i think if you do like a red i also i'm very i want all black i don't really

26:08first show of the season of project runway as you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day
26:14you're out and in my case you're back in again for our first challenge our designers formed fashion
26:23houses two teams of six designers creating cohesive collections inspired by disney princesses or disney
26:32villains i feel so confident this dress is really giving a vibe of cool modern i would walk out of
26:50here with that happy i'm telling you that girl is a villain you can wear it now it's not so costumy i
26:57think it's beautiful seeing my look go down the runway i'm really happy i'm proud of it
27:08just to see the scarf dragon so it gave some kind of sense of elegance and dramatic effect
27:15the shape of my gown looks so clean and elegant i love the way the light hits the velvet the collar
27:23is exciting it gives drama it's made well so i couldn't be more pleased that this is the first
27:30piece that the judges see from me
27:35i am so happy she's giving me villain vibe the leather is moving the pants is well made perfectly
27:44tailored for her it's like i'm so speechless
27:47yes wow i'm pinching myself seeing my look going down the runway it's perfect chic and i feel like
27:56she looks like the villain oh don't put your curse on me i know
28:01this look is the magnum opus of my mix between grand and sophisticated look at the detail of the glove
28:16that's so witchy it's harnessing wind and it just feels like i have created something that is truly
28:24special i hope that they get a good meal from what i'm serving
28:37i feel the joseph mccray princess gracing the space
28:42i just cannot take my eyes off with my girl because she is so beautiful and i did that

29:07when my model walks down the runway it's definitely giving modern jasmine for sure and i see emotions
29:14being provoked when she's walking and that's what i want so i'm feeling confident about my look it's a vibe
29:22i'm feeling emotional and happy of the work seeing my model in my
29:26beautiful butterfly fabric that i brought from home makes me feel so
29:30nurtured love and accomplished is that camouflage it's like a butterfly print
29:36she is just floating in my gown and it's exactly the feeling i wanted it is modern princess feeling
29:50i love how the tool floats it's like a little dance happening on the fabric i feel very proud
29:57to see my princess queen's garment i think she definitely owned the space i knew that it was over
30:12designers congratulations that was very special first show well done now we have to see
30:19which house has a fairy tale ending and which one just ends my heart is racing and i love my look i'm
30:27I'm sure the judges want to see more of me.

34:11There was a little things that I noticed on the cape.
34:14There was a scene that I wish I didn't see.

34:19but you did such a beautiful job.
