00:00Okay, so you're at the pool and there's a baby struggling in the water.
00:03You pull that baby out, they're still moving air and they're still conscious.
00:06No CPR at that point because they are still moving air.
00:09No back blows, no chest thrust.
00:12Get away from the edge of the pool, obviously.
00:14All we're going to do is help that baby to clear its airway by allowing it to cough and
00:17vomit and it is going to be violent.
00:19If they are partially blue and moving air, it's really violent.
00:22When I've seen this in real life, they're going to be vomiting that water up with food
00:26at the same time, trying to take deep breaths, probably not that deep to continue breathing.
00:31And they're going to then aspirate or breathe that vomit and that bile into their lungs.
00:34And it's a really violent traumatic thing to watch, but keep that baby seated forward or
00:39nice recovery position to the side while the baby is conscious that you just pulled from
00:43the water.
00:44They've ingested, they've swallowed a ton of water, keep them in the recovery position.
00:47Do not, do not, do not do this because now gravity is just going to help that water and
00:52that vomit to choke this baby out.
00:55So keep them in the recovery position like this, keep them in the recovery position like
00:59this.
01:00If unfortunately they do pass out, we're going to lay them down and start compressions.
01:04And that'll be our next video.
