00:00How long have you lived and worked in Brice? 22 years. Amazing. What are some of your favourite
00:04things about the village? It's just such a lovely community. Everybody looks out for each other,
00:09they help each other. We have everything from people coming in saying I found a £5 note on
00:17the pavement and people coming in saying I think we're having a £5 note in. So yeah it's a very,
00:24it's a good close community. Fab. Is there lots to do, things you'd recommend people?
00:31We've got a very active village sports and recreation club. They've got lots of events,
00:39football tournaments, there's a lot going on down there. We've got a village hall which is quite
00:44active with a lot of groups for children. And you were just telling me that you've moved up here
00:48from London how long ago was it? 27 years. What brought you up? My husband changed his job.
00:53Okay. And a positive move? Very much so. Our sons at that stage were 17 and 16
01:01and they've stayed up here as well. They still live in Shropshire. Amazing. And what is it that keeps
01:06you here? We love it. We love our house. We don't want to move. So we'll go out feet first is what
01:12we would say. And what is it like, what is it that you like about sort of North Shropshire,
01:18the Priest area? Well, it's sort of quiet, it's peaceful, countryside, farmland and people are very
01:26friendly. We've had somebody tell us already about how kind of close-knit the community has
01:31appeared. Is that an experience that you've had? Yes, it is. Yes. Yeah. So Tony, you're not actually
01:36local to Priest, but do you like it when the call comes in for you to provide some cover?
01:41Yeah, I'm not local to Priest. I've been coming here for a number of years now to support the local
01:45community. Priest is a very sort of nice little area to visit, you know, venue green land around it
01:52and good little sort of community spirit with the local cricket club down the corner and different
01:58things so everybody sort of pulls together. I'm here today because we're giving fire cover to Priest,
02:04so we're actively looking for locals to recruit if anyone's interested. As long as they live or work or
02:11both within five minutes of the station, you know, tell them to pop down and have a chat with the
02:16staff here. Thursday night is where they come and sort of drill, which is do some training. So we're
02:22always looking for new individuals to come along. Amazing. Priest entirely retained, is it? Priest is a
02:29solely on-call station, which means people are going around doing their ordinary sort of lives with a
02:35pager and they need to be able to respond within five minutes from work or home or both. And as you
02:43can appreciate the present moment in time, we're having sorts of quite a few incidents because of
02:46the hot weather. So we're always looking to sort of actively recruit.
