00:00Bolter is recorded on video ringing the Hoffman's doorbell and knocking on the
00:05window multiple times before John Hoffman answers the door. After John
00:10opens the door, Bolter goes into the entryway, tells them he is a police
00:15officer, and asks about others in the home. While John, Yvette, and Hope are in
00:21the very small entryway, they realize he's wearing a mask. He can be heard
00:27telling them to show their hands. They successfully push him out of the house
00:33and shut the door. Bolter fires the gun at least nine times through the front door,
00:39striking John and Yvette multiple times. Hope was on the floor at the time the
00:45shots were fired. After finding no one home at Bonner's residence and encountering
00:51a police officer while parked near State Senator Ann Rest's home, Bolter drove to
00:56the home of the Hortmans. Former House Speaker Melissa's name, Hortman's name,
01:02appears multiple times in Bolter's handwritten notes. She has a star next to
01:08her name. When Mark Hortman answers the door, Bolter stands in the doorway.
01:15Melissa can be heard telling Mark to ask for this person's badge number, name, and
01:21jurisdiction. Bolter tells Mark he needs to quote-unquote see his wife. He says he
01:28can't see her through the window and that he needs her to come down, presumably
01:33from the stairs. Bolter tells the Hortmans that he is a Maple Grove police
01:39officer at approximately the same time the Brooklyn Park police arrive in front of
01:44the Hortman home. Bolter then fires multiple shots at Mark while running
01:50toward him and into the house. After entering the house, Bolter fires multiple
01:55shots at Melissa Hortman.
