00:00We said we weren't going to match, and look, are we clashing? I feel like we're clashing.
00:05Is that a clash? Well, Nikolai told me to do this. Oh yeah, it's quite sort of silky. It's not
00:10actually silk, but it kind of has a silky vibe to it. I thought it was tweed, but it's actually
00:14light. It's sort of like a tweedy, silky tweed, tweedy silk. I feel like you did it for me.
00:17I did, I did, I did, I did it. I went to the wrong premiere, isn't it? Outlander next. Sorry,
00:22you can come with that after if you want. As you were standing there getting your photos,
00:25I would just like to point out that Nikolai was trying to get me to run up and come beside you
00:29and touch your jacket. And I said, Nikolai, I don't want to lose my job. You wouldn't have
00:33lost your job. That would have been great. How naughty is he? Is he naughty? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
00:36yeah. He is. Or did you not see that side? Did you just see the competitive side? No, no,
00:41this idea that we competed is not true. It's you, isn't it? He's definitely naughty. We had
00:46naughtiness off the set, for sure. Yeah, it was a lot of fun. We had a good time. Listen,
00:50you're amazing in this, but you're such a nice guy, and you're actually quite scary even just in that
00:54poster there. I mean, what a role for you to think of T30, right? Yeah, it was nice.
00:59I mean, that's the great thing about being an actor, is that you get to explore all these
01:02shadowy corners of yourself, which you spend the rest of your life sort of hiding away and repressing,
01:06and then suddenly you get to play like a proper badass. And, you know, actually, Harold, I think,
01:10is a real man of honor. He's a family man. He means well, like a lot of people in the positions of
01:17power do, but ultimately he gets taken by that grip of power and status, and it becomes this kind of
01:24obsession, and it takes hold. So not that I'm condoning his actions, because ultimately he
01:30pursues the crown for, you know, at whatever cost and puts his family and his country at risk. But
01:35I think at the heart, he's a decent man. He just gets a little bit misled along the way.
01:41Very misled. Did you enjoy being in the mud with the fight and all that? Because I feel like you
01:45were just in your element. I loved it. I loved it. You know, what's not too low? Rolling around
01:49a big mud bath with Nikolai and 30 Icelandic stuntmen. Yeah, I mean, I was, it was, uh,
01:54it was definitely, um, it was a fun day. And generally just, you know, getting to put on
01:59seven layers of leather and chain mail and swing a sword around a massive mountain side,
02:05sort of shout, you know, charge or whatever. It's like a dream. It's like you're, it's like you're
02:10suddenly back and you're like nine years old, but it's very real. And there are thousands of people
02:15surrounding you and smoke and horses. And, um, yeah, I mean, we didn't, actors just didn't grow up.
02:20We're just doing what we used to do as kids. We just now get paid for it.
02:23Yeah. It's called play. It's called a play. I mean, literally we, you know,
02:25we go on the stage and we do a play. So yeah, it's, it's just, it's just a lot of fun.
02:29But you did also have a very serious job with us as well, because obviously you were producing.
02:33How was that? Do you know, actors often talk about the grownups. They say, oh,
02:36the grownups are on set, which means that the producers are on set. And I suddenly realized that
02:39I am both the child and the grownup because I was one of the producers. Yeah. It was amazing. I mean,
02:45I'm more proud of this than I think I've ever been on about any project I've ever done because this has been
02:49with me for seven, nearly eight years. Um, it was one of the first projects that we started
02:54developing at my company, Rabbit Track Pictures with my business partner, Kitty Kalecki. And so,
02:58you know, there was a lot of time, blood, sweat, tears that has gone into this. Um, and so yeah,
03:04the stakes are high and I, I hope people love it. We've loved making it. That's the main thing.
03:10Um, I think people will enjoy. It's a really propulsive, thrilling ride. It's, it's epic.
03:15It's beautiful. It's an incredible story. It's all true. At the very least, you're going to learn
03:19a hell of a lot about history. And if you're a GCSE student and studying this for your exams,
03:24then lucky you. It's the best history lesson ever. Um, although I'm not sure if you're allowed to
03:29watch it for your GCSEs. Let's say A levels. Um, but yeah, no, it's been an amazing, it's been a dream.
03:34I can't believe that I'm, I'm now a grownup and I'm one of those, um, responsible people who are
03:39actually making TV shows, but, um, it's been a properly, properly, uh, special and, and,
03:44and rewarding ride. Well, I can because you're absolutely amazing and congratulations.
03:48Listen, all the best for this. I can't wait to binge the rest of it. Thank you.
03:51You take care. Likewise. Take care. Cheers.
