00:48I'm going to.
00:50Okay.
00:52That's the one.
00:54hello again nice to see i was watching that there you're such a professional
01:12really it was given experience and james looked confused and i thought you know what
01:15this makes a lot of sense that's the whole point yes i don't know what he was doing but he was
01:22confused and that was fun and you weren't and it shows you have to if you interview him yeah
01:28because i'm so curious i asked him what it was feel his suit and you tell me what that's made of
01:34it is looking a bit like tweed but she's Scottish go and have a little touch i can't go right now
01:38you dare me to i'm scared no no no they'll shout at me james just just do it i just want to i'm scared
01:43i'm scared i'm scared just go have a look you need to come with me then will you take me over all right
01:47right maybe you should wait i know maybe yeah look at you again you're getting into trouble
01:51earlier on we were talking about football that wasn't supposed to happen but i had a good
01:55point though didn't you did have a very good point we've got to get rid of our i know we've got to
01:59get rid of our goal line technology yes but uh where in scotland are you from glasgow there you go
02:06that's your favorite place your favorite place you didn't say you didn't say yeah well we had limited
02:09time i mean like we have now we need to talk about the show you're going to get into trouble you nearly
02:14had me running on a red carpet there yes and i stopped it because i'm not the experience kicked in
02:19the maturity came back no i just was like no i was worried that she was going to get upset
02:24and i don't think he would i think he would have just been who is this crazy scottish lady and why
02:28is she running towards me that's true it does happen right listen you're brilliant sorry yes and
02:33of course like i said earlier you're the right man for the job you've got all the skills how excited
02:38are you that you're going to be able to show this off to the world because i can't wait for everyone
02:41to see it i thank you i'm glad that you like it i like it too um it's just a great story and
02:51yeah it's it's fun to nobody listen i had so much fun doing this show and um i'm not just saying that
03:00but i really did because one of my favorite places in the world is iceland
03:05i have so many good friends and then meeting james who's a fantastic guy and the whole i mean we
03:13we really wanted to we all know heard about the battle of hastings but i don't think i'm um i mean
03:21everybody we have heard it but we don't know how what really happened and it's really it's just a great
03:28story did you feel like you were at home in the mud with the armor on horse riding the sword i know
03:36where you're going i can see it's a very subtle maybe not so subtle i know but i love can we just
03:40talk about game of thrones i know but i love it and i love jamie lannister even though i'm conflicted
03:45because i shouldn't but i i love him i think it's you you're the problem i i love the game of thrones as
03:53well so that makes us too this is uh you can see why george r martin was inspired by this time period
04:00because you know there's the same vision but it's completely different it's it's basically as if i
04:06was playing i play a soldier in one show episode another yeah they're both soldiers but it's a
04:12different world so yeah i think i think i hope i can get away with it and you directed that episode
04:17episode five how was that fantastic i was very i i guess i've done this for 30 years being in front
04:24of the camera so i i it's not like i wasn't afraid of it because i i i was i was and i wasn't afraid of
04:32actors you know i know that just you know i know the work and then i mean it's just so much fun i i
04:41really enjoyed every second of it so i can't well you know i can't wait for you guys to see the show
04:46was james a diva when you were directing him
04:52i understand i get that no he wasn't he wasn't he was great he was great i'll keep it a secret
04:56listen absolute pleasure thanks for not getting into trouble well you know we'll try next time
05:16and also
05:20and also
05:22So, the whole thing, you know, we are really in case.
05:26Let's go and take that out.
05:28So, we'll be coming.
05:30Yeah.
05:31Yeah, are you doing better?
05:35My bra is just in the color.
05:47Thank you, right, please.
05:52There we go.
05:54Near corner.
05:56Great.
05:57Here we go.
06:00OK.
06:01I got you.
06:09Searchins go.
06:11We're now at E pasa.
06:13We'll get.
06:15Okay.
06:20Hi Geoff, I'm Jodie, lovely to meet you, how you doing?
06:25Hello.
06:25I've been looking forward to meeting you.
06:27Oh really?
06:27I was hoping you were going to be here tonight, because I'm a massive fan of Mobland.
06:31We'll talk about that in a minute.
06:33Love this, right up my street, I've only seen the first episode, I want to binge the rest
06:36of it.
06:37How amazing is it that you're part of the cast that's getting to bring this story to
06:40the screen for the first time?
06:43I don't know, I've not seen anything.
06:46I know, but the story's never been told before, I can't believe that.
06:48No, no, it's a great story.
06:52Absolute carnage.
06:54Tell me about your character then, because he's a bit menacing, isn't he?
06:57I think he's a strong dad.
07:01And you know, we're talking about Vass, he's old, so.
07:05Did you get to go to Iceland and have the thermal baths and the hikes and all the rest of it
07:10with the cast?
07:11How good was that?
07:13Amazing.
07:13Not with a cast though.
07:15Oh, you just did it on your own?
07:16Quite right, you're Geoff, do you know what I mean?
07:18But we were all ginger, which was the best.
07:22But was it sunny then or was it cold?
07:24How was the weather?
07:25We filmed in the winter studios and then we filmed in the summer.
07:32So you need to be careful in the summer, but then apparently they didn't, obviously they
07:35didn't have SPF back then.
07:36So James was saying you'd get any make-up and they would put like sun damage make-up on you.
07:41Who's James?
07:41James Norton.
07:43Don't start your nonsense.
07:44Do you know what?
07:45These are all really cheeky as well, because Nicolai nearly got me into bother earlier.
07:49These are all naughty bunch, aren't you?
07:51I don't know what you're on about.
07:54Right, listen.
07:55What do you want me to say?
07:56I've not seen anything.
07:57You've not seen it?
07:58Have you not watched the first episode?
07:59No, no, no.
07:59So it's your premiere to watch it as well?
08:02Yeah, I'm going to have a look, yeah.
08:03Have a look.
08:03Proof's in the pudding.
08:05Right, listen.
08:06I need to ask you, because I'm a massive fan.
08:08I don't care if I'm going to get in trouble.
08:09Mobland season two.
08:10Have you started filming?
08:11What's happening?
08:13Tell me.
08:14I can't.
08:15Have you started filming?
08:16I'd have to kill you.
08:18Come on.
08:19I'm from Glasgow.
08:20I've been in Glasgow.
08:21My son was fighting, yeah.
08:23Oh.
08:23Sumo in the Scottish Championships, yeah.
08:25Oh my God.
08:26Just been up there, yeah.
08:27I've just come back, because I was at Oasis on Tuesday.
08:29I was up there with the wind.
08:31Do you remember the wind?
08:32Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:32Oh, fuck.
08:33We flew back, though.
08:34We got back.
08:35It was so lucky.
08:36Some weather up there the other night as well.
08:37Some weather.
08:39It's lovely to meet you.
08:40You as well.
08:41Thanks for telling me nothing about Mobland.
08:42I'll hold that against you.
08:43See when I see you at Mobland.
08:44Excuse me.
08:45I've not watched Mobland, so I don't know what you're on about.
08:48You're not watching on some of that?
08:49No.
08:49Why not?
08:50I'm not watching this.
08:52I'm going to slip.
08:53You're quite right.
08:54We ain't get a pint.
08:55Nice to see you.
08:58Hello, you again.
09:11You're great.
09:11You all right?
09:13I love that shirt.
09:13I said I love the other.
09:14Did you notice if there was anything naughty on it?
09:15I think, I hope there is.
09:17I said, yeah.
09:19That guy just nearly got me into trouble there as well, because he was getting me, he wanted
09:22me to walk onto the carpet and stand next to James, because we were doing the same thing.
09:25Yeah.
09:26Is it just a cheeky bunch, this lot?
09:27Yeah, it is.
09:28It is.
09:29I mean, he's terrible.
09:30He's so bad to act with because he makes you laugh the whole time.
09:34He was directing me in the scene, and I was acting, and he was directing, and he was behind
09:38a wall, and I could hear him laughing.
09:39I could hear him laughing.
09:41I could hear him laughing.
09:41It was terrible.
09:41But listen, like I said to you earlier, I'm obsessed with this.
09:45I mean, how excited are you that people are going to finally get to see it now?
09:48Oh, I think it's great.
09:49I mean, I'm going to see it for the first time ever now, so I'm really excited because
09:53I think it's just, I don't understand why someone hasn't done this before, because it's
09:58a great, it's a great story, but it's so complex, and it's so, there's so much more to it than
10:04we think, and James had the courage to put it all together, so, you know.
10:09What was it like having James producing and then Nikolai directing?
10:12I mean, well, I mean, to James' credit, he had so much pressure because he was
10:17dealing with the producing as well as the acting, but the amazing thing was that he
10:22never let that, you never saw that, you never saw that he was under pressure, and acting
10:28is a very collaborative art form, so he has to be really cooperative with everybody.
10:32I don't know if I could do that, and Nikolai, I mean, Nikolai, I was the first actor that
10:37he ever directed on film, and he's an old friend, and it was great for him, we just had
10:42a good laugh.
10:43How much of a laugh did you have in Iceland?
10:44I heard there was like thermal baths and all that.
10:46Oh, yeah, yeah, no, it's lovely, it's great, Iceland, it's a beautiful place, I love it,
10:50I've done a few films there, it's great, wonderful.
10:52Amazing, well, it's great to see you again.
10:54Thank you very much.
10:55I can't wait for everybody else to see this.
10:56Lovely to see you.
10:57Great, cheers, thank you.
10:58Thank you, Eddie, cheers.
10:59Lovely, thank you.
11:00Oh my God, look at you.
11:01Kind of a Scottish theme, you've got a thistle there.
11:02I know.
11:03Well, I'm going to the Outlander thing after this again.
11:04Of course.
11:05I was like, everyone's going to think that I'm just really patriotic, does it?
11:08So I'm kind of matching with James.
11:09That's going to be a beautiful place.
11:10You do match.
11:11Yes, thank you.
11:12But it's far too hot to be wearing these outfits and that.
11:15Yeah.
11:16I mean, I know I'm kind of, but it's...
11:18Yeah, it's, it's, yeah, lightweight tweed.
11:20It's great to see you.
11:21I'm so obsessed.
11:22It's great to see you again.
11:23Honestly, like, I just cannot wait to watch the rest of it.
11:25Good.
11:26I know we were chatting earlier about the fact that the women are fleshed out.
11:29I mean, that's so great.
11:30How good is it as an actress when you get to play a character that you can really sink
11:34your teeth into, but it's well-rounded.
11:35Yes, yes.
11:36They weren't, they didn't just disappear poof into thin air when they weren't on the screen.
11:41They were doing a lot of things, yeah.
11:43Well, of course, yeah.
11:44Yeah, there's a lot of, it's a huge part of their relationship in it and their dynamic
11:49and their, they have a very intense physical and emotional charge between them.
11:58And it's a very real relationship, sometimes a little bit tempestuous.
12:04There's a lot of genuine love.
12:06Their shared bond over their children and huge risk all the time.
12:10She feels very vulnerable in her position.
12:14She's Danish wed to him and also his, Harold's a bit unpredictable.
12:19So she's constantly redirecting and trying to tame him in some ways.
12:23But thankfully James is a really nice guy.
12:25He's a gorgeous man.
12:26So how was it for you to create that bond?
12:28Because I want to bring back year and I want to bring back those kind of relationships.
12:31Do you want to read?
12:32Yes, yes.
12:33And so much high stakes, which kind of makes it a bit more romantic and intense.
12:38It's just, it's really life and death, literally.
12:41So yeah, he's lovely.
12:44So spontaneous.
12:45We were kind of friends before.
12:46So made it very easy at natural chemistry.
12:48And he's a great listener and which really helps.
12:51Because obviously the characters, you know when you know someone so well and you can read.
12:55I'm talking about the characters fiction, but you know the subtext, you read, you know, you know exactly.
13:00I know that you spent a lot of time in Iceland together.
13:03Oh yes, we all did.
13:04Yeah.
13:05We all went on our hikes together.
13:06But that was method, right?
13:07Yeah.
13:08On our hikes together.
13:09Thermal Rivers.
13:10With the whole cast of Memphis.
13:12Not just me and James on that.
13:14But that's why it works because the chemistry was real.
13:17Yeah.
13:18We had a real familial kind of bond, all of us.
13:20We genuinely do still hang out.
13:22Talk to Claire all the time, my fictional mother-in-law.
13:26Please add me to the group chat.
13:27We have a better relationship than we do on screen.
13:29I really want you to be in the group chat.
13:30Please add me.
13:31I will.
13:32I will.
13:33I'll have to ask the admin.
13:34James is admin, but I'm sure I know he'll say yes.
13:36This is so nice to see you.
13:37Lovely to see you too.
13:38Thank you so, so much.
13:39Cheerio.
13:40Bye.
13:56We said we weren't going to match.
13:59Hello.
14:00Look at this.
14:01Are we clashing?
14:02I feel like we're clashing.
14:03Kind of.
14:04Is that a clash?
14:05Well, Nikolai told me to do this.
14:07Oh, yeah.
14:08It's quite sort of silky.
14:09It's not actually silk, but it kind of has a silky vibe to it.
14:11I thought it was tweed, but it's actually light.
14:13It's sort of like a tweedy.
14:14Silky tweed, tweedy silk.
14:15I feel like you did it for me.
14:16I did.
14:17I did.
14:18I did.
14:19I did.
14:20I went to the wrong premiere, isn't it?
14:21Outlander next.
14:22Sorry.
14:23You can come with that after if you want.
14:24As you were standing there getting your photos,
14:25I would just like to point out that Nikolai was trying to get me to run up and come beside
14:28you and touch your jacket.
14:29And I said, Nikolai, I don't want to lose my job.
14:32You wouldn't have lost your job.
14:33That would have been great.
14:34How naughty is he?
14:35Is he naughty?
14:36Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
14:37He is.
14:38Or did you not see that side?
14:39Did you just see the competitive side?
14:40No, no.
14:41This idea that we competed is not true.
14:43It's you that said it.
14:44He's definitely naughty.
14:45We had naughtiness off the set, for sure.
14:47Yeah, it was a lot of fun.
14:48We had a good time.
14:49Listen, you're amazing in this, but you're such a nice guy.
14:52And you're actually quite scary even just in that poster there.
14:54I mean, what are all for you to think of?
14:56Do you think, right?
14:57Yeah, it was nice.
14:58I mean, that's the great thing about being an actor is that you get to sort of explore
15:01all these shadowy corners of yourself, which you spend the rest of your life sort of hiding
15:05away and repressing.
15:06And then suddenly you get to play like a proper badass.
15:09And, you know, actually, Harold, I think, is a real man of honour.
15:11He's a family man.
15:12He means well, like a lot of people in the positions of power do.
15:17But ultimately he gets taken by that grip of power and status and it becomes this kind of obsession
15:24and it takes hold.
15:25So not that I'm condoning his actions because ultimately he pursues the crown for, you know,
15:31at whatever cost and puts his family and his country at risk.
15:34But I think at the heart he's a decent man.
15:37He just gets a little bit misled along the way.
15:40Very misled, let's be honest.
15:41Did you enjoy being in the mud with the fight and all that?
15:44Because I feel like you were just in your element.
15:45I loved it.
15:46I loved it.
15:47You know, what's not too low?
15:48Rolling around, big mud bath with Nikolai and 30 Icelandic stuntmen.
15:52Yeah, I mean, it was definitely a fun day.
15:56And generally just, you know, getting to put on seven layers of leather and chain mail
16:01and swing a sword around a massive mountainside, sort of shout, you know,
16:06charge or whatever.
16:07It's like a dream.
16:08It's like you're suddenly back and you're like nine years old, but it's very real
16:13and there are thousands of people surrounding you and smoke and horses.
16:16And yeah, I mean, we didn't, actors just didn't grow up.
16:19We're just doing what we used to do as kids.
16:21We just now get paid for it.
16:22Yeah, it's called play.
16:23It's called a play.
16:24I mean, literally we, you know, we go on the stage and we do a play.
16:27So yeah, it's just a lot of fun.
16:29But you did also have a very serious job with us as well because obviously you were producing.
16:32How was that?
16:33Do you know, actors often talk about the grown-ups.
16:35They say, oh, the grown-ups are on set, which means that the producers are on set.
16:38And I suddenly realised that I am both the child and the grown-up because I was one of the producers.
16:43Yeah, it was amazing.
16:44I mean, I'm more proud of this than I think I've ever been on about any project I've ever done
16:47because this has been with me for seven, nearly eight years.
16:51It was one of the first projects that we started developing at my company, Rabbit Track Pictures,
16:55with my business partner, Kitty Kalecki.
16:57And so, you know, there was a lot of time, blood, sweat, tears that has gone into this.
17:02And so, yeah, the stakes are high.
17:05And I hope people love it.
17:07We've loved making it.
17:08That's the main thing I think people will enjoy.
17:11It's a really propulsive, thrilling ride.
17:13It's epic.
17:14It's beautiful.
17:15It's an incredible story.
17:16It's all true.
17:17At the very least, you're going to learn a hell of a lot about history.
17:20And if you're a GCSE student and studying this for your exams, then lucky you.
17:24It's a sexy history lesson.
17:25It's the best history lesson ever.
17:27Although I'm not sure if you're allowed to watch it if you're GCSEs.
17:30Let's say A-levels.
17:31Yeah.
17:32But yeah, no, it's been an amazing, it's been a dream.
17:34I can't believe that I'm now a grown-up.
17:36And I'm one of those responsible people who are actually making TV shows.
17:40But it's been a properly special and rewarding ride.
17:45Well, I can because you're absolutely amazing.
17:47And congratulations.
17:48Listen, all the best for this.
17:50I can't wait for the rest of it.
17:52You take care.
17:53Likewise.
17:54Take care.
17:55Cheers.
