Brent's thoughts on building a new band at age 55
Transcript
00:00Meditations for Sunday, on my way to Mount Pleasant, Concord area for band rehearsal.
00:15Thinking about our show next week, which, you know, we just kind of changed the lineup,
00:19and we're probably a little bit ill-prepared for it, and it's calling for rain, it's supposed
00:24to be outside, so glad to be prepared to shuffle and do an acoustic on the inside of the place,
00:32and a lot of stuff to easily complain about, but then on a deeper level, I mean, I'm 54
00:41years old, 55 years old, about to be 56, I always forget my age, it's something I do.
00:45But, um, there are no bad gigs at this point, getting to go, uh, play your music in front
00:56of new people, original music, that's a blessing, and, uh, I mean, I wish that club owners sometimes
01:05didn't look at it like a blessing, because it does take sacrifice to be able to even remotely
01:10have a band at any kind of together, and we're probably, like, at the bottom level of acceptable
01:15togetherness right now, we haven't had enough rehearsal time, but, um, that said, I'm still
01:21extremely excited, but also, being able to back up a much better singer than myself is something
01:27that really excites me artistically, because I love singing back up, and, uh, but then maybe
01:34beyond that, the chance to develop some of my original material, the better singer, it's
01:41also really, really exciting, working on two new mixes this week, with the Harrison, in
01:47our, um, new series, in the shop with Harrison, I am exploiting this new camera, so, hope you
01:57like the black and white in the old 1990 4K quality vibes, that's what we're doing, man, let's
02:03do it.
