00:00Donald Trump is pretending as if he cares about public safety in Washington, D.C.
00:07I have a message for him and the American people.
00:11The biggest crime scene that hurts everyday Americans in Washington, D.C. right now is
00:161600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
00:19That's the crime scene that we need to clean up on behalf of you and the American people.
00:28Situation just as bad in the House of Representatives.
00:35This is no longer the party of John McCain, it's not the party of Mitt Romney, not the party of Bob Dole.
00:45Many of us in the delegation, we served with Speaker John Boehner, Speaker Paul Ryan.
00:51They were deeply conservative men, disagreed with them on a whole host of issues.
00:56But it's not the party of those individuals.
01:01They also cared about the institution.
01:04They cared about the American way of life.
01:07They cared about our democracy, disagreed with them on a whole host of issues.
01:11But it's not the party of John McCain, John Boehner,
01:17or Paul Rice.
01:19The party of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boeber, Jim Jordan, and Mary Miller.
01:31I mean, who knew I would miss John Boehner and Paul Ryan so much?
01:46But this group of people acting like nothing more than a reckless rubber stamp in the House
01:54and in the Senate for Donald Trump's extreme agenda.
01:59Our view as Democrats is very different.
02:02We don't work for Donald Trump.
02:04We don't work for J.D. Vance.
02:06We don't work for Elon Musk.
02:08We don't work for billionaire donors.
02:10We work for all of you, the American people.
02:13And that is what will continue to drive us as we move forward.
02:22Big difference, big difference between who we are as Democrats
02:29and what the other side, the extremists, the MAGA extremists represent.
02:34We want to move America forward.
02:37They're trying to turn back the clock.
02:39We want to bring people together.
02:43They are tearing America apart.
02:47We believe in truth and reconciliation.
02:50They want to cancel our history.
02:55We fight for the people.
02:56They fight for the privileged few.
02:58We believe in unions and the right to collectively bargain.
03:02They want to destroy our freedom to negotiate.
03:11But here's a news flash straight out of Congress.
03:14Democrats will stand with organized labor today.
03:18Democrats will stand with organized labor tomorrow.
03:21Democrats will stand with organized labor forever.
03:24We are the party of organized labor.
03:27Your values are our values.
03:29And our values are your values.
03:31And no one has done more to bring to life the American dream than our partners in organized labor.
03:38We stand with you now and forever.
03:46That's who we are as Democrats.
03:50The party of everyday Americans, of hardworking American taxpayers.
03:55We believe that hard work should be rewarded.
03:58That everyone should be able to make a living wage.
04:04And certainly that the minimum wage, $7.25 an hour in America, is unacceptable.
04:12And needs to be raised.
04:13And that will be one of the first things we do.
04:18We believe as Democrats in this country, the wealthiest country in the history of the world,
04:23that no child should ever go hungry in the United States of America.
04:28Not a single child in Illinois or anywhere else here in this country.
04:34And we, of course, believe in a woman's freedom to make her own reproductive health care decisions at all times.
04:45Thank you, Governor Pritzker, for protecting it here in the land of Lincoln.
04:55And of course, as Democrats, we recognize that America, most importantly, is too expensive.
05:01That far too many people are struggling to live.
05:05Paycheck to paycheck.
05:10Barely can survive.
05:12Impossible for so many people to thrive.
05:15Donald Trump promised that they would lower costs, in fact, on day one.
05:20But here in America, costs haven't gone down.
05:23Costs have gone up.
05:24Inflation is on the way up.
05:26Job creation is coming down.
05:30They have failed to keep their core promise of making life more affordable for the American people
05:37while they enrich their billionaire donors.
05:40As Democrats, we understand that it's time to build an affordable economy.
05:45We have to lower the high cost of living in the United States of America, and we need to do it now.
05:52We also recognize that we have to fix our broken health care system, make sure that everyone
06:03has access to high quality, affordable health care, whenever and wherever you need it.
06:13And yes, as Democrats,
06:15we're going to focus on cleaning up corruption in Washington, D.C. and make sure we deliver a government
06:25of the people, by the people, and for the people.
06:30Clean up corruption in Washington, D.C., which is hurting everyday Americans.
06:42As Democrats, we believe in rewarding hard work, that when you work hard,
06:47and play by the rules, you should be able to live a comfortable life, live the good life.
06:56Can I break that down for you?
06:59Good paying job, good housing, good health care, a good education for your children,
07:06and a good retirement.
07:08Which means, as Democrats, we're going to continue to stand up and make clear to our Republican
07:22college, keep your hands off the Social Security and the Medicare of the American people.
07:29Those aren't entitlement programs.
07:31Those are earned benefits.
07:33You work hard for those benefits.
07:35You deserve those benefits.
07:37You've earned those benefits.
07:38And we're going to protect those benefits.
07:40Hands off.
07:42Hands off today.
07:43Hands off tomorrow.
07:45Hands off this week.
07:46Hands off next week.
07:47Hands off this month.
07:49Hands off next month.
07:51Hands off this year.
07:52Hands off next year.
07:54Keep your hands off of Social Security and Medicare always and forever.
08:00That's the Democratic Party position.
08:03I approve that message.
08:07I approve it.
08:14You're talking more tanto time.
08:17I approve that message.
08:18I have great совpheus today.
