00:08Let's give it up one more time for the real fighter for Illinois,
00:12Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton!
00:19So, Illinois Democrats, are you ready to rumble?
00:24What an honor it is to join your chair,
00:27IDCCA Chair Mark Gately and our County Party Chairs
00:31and our Party Builder Award recipients
00:34to celebrate the resurgence and energy of Illinois Democrats.
00:39And we've sent two really amazing, really the best people you could
00:44to represent us in the United States Senate.
00:47Senator Tammy Duckworth and Senator Dick Durbin, thank you for your service!
00:52And how about another cheer for our great House Democratic leader in Washington,
01:01Hakeem Jeffries!
01:06From Cairo to Decatur to Peoria to Chicago, each and every one of you
01:13is making our party stronger, helping to bring in every vote, every voice,
01:18every volunteer that keeps Democrats and our party flourishing.
01:22Don't ever think that it goes unnoticed or unappreciated.
01:27From phone banking, to door knocking, to protesting, to rallying,
01:31you deliver victory for Democrats across the state of Illinois.
01:35So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

01:40Folks, over the last six months, it seems like there's always someone who wants to dissect
01:51what went wrong for Democrats on the national stage in the 2024 elections.
01:56There are books and op-eds and resurrected ghosts of past Democratic campaigns
02:01showing up on Fox News and on CNN,
02:04sub-stacks by anyone with a computer and an opinion,
02:08tortured monologues across social media and TV.
02:12The pity party, the circular firing squad, the think tank brainstorming sessions,
02:20they just need to be over.
02:22Since the dawn of the republic, political parties have won and lost elections
02:27and then won again, and that's what's going to happen to us in 2026.
02:31And what I'll say to those who are wondering what's next for the Democratic Party is this.
02:43She's alive and well and stronger than ever and right here living in the great state of Illinois.
02:53Illinois Democrats know how to overcome hard times.
02:57Look what our army of happy warriors here has achieved.
03:01We worked our tails off and ousted the Republicans who tanked our state's finances
03:07and bad-mouthed Illinois' forking families.
03:10We won a supermajority in the House and the Senate
03:14and we won county boards and townships because of you.
03:23And we Democrats, we wasted no time turning the ship around.
03:28We took the Republicans two years of no budget
03:31and we balanced seven budgets in a row.
03:34We took eight credit downgrades and turned them into nine credit upgrades.
03:43We paid off all the overdue bills that the Republicans left us.
03:49We nearly doubled the minimum wage.
03:52And we invested two and a half billion dollars more in public education.
04:00From early childhood to K-12 to community colleges to universities.
04:05We cut prescription drug prices and we beat back the insurance lobby
04:11to protect mental health coverage.
04:20We built a firewall around civil rights in this state.
04:23And we turned this state into a safe haven for women's reproductive rights.
04:30We invested in violence prevention and we reduced violent crime across the entire state of Illinois.
04:43And we finally beat the NRA and banned assault weapons.
04:48Illinois Democrats shook off the rust of old poll-tested ideas.
04:57And we've governed instead with a renewed dedication to the needs and the wants of working families.
05:04And we've lifted up those who've been left out and left behind.
05:08Illinois desperately needed a new chapter.
05:11So we turned the whole damn book on its head.
