00:00The president's latest poll numbers indicate his performance on the job is gaining more public approval.
00:06This as a result of his rousing State of the Nation speech in which he vowed to hold corrupt elements into account
00:11and his resounding India state visit a success.
00:15A Harley Valbuena hashes over the numbers.
00:19The satisfaction rating of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. jumped to 35 percent
00:25according to the survey of WR Numero Research from July 29 to August 6, 2025.
00:32This is higher than the 29 percent satisfaction rating of President Marcos in a survey from March 31 to April 7.
00:39Under the 35 percent satisfaction rating, 4.9 percent are very satisfied with the Marcos administration while 30.5 percent are satisfied.
00:5132 percent, meanwhile, are dissatisfied, and 33 percent are undecided.
00:58The president got the highest satisfaction rating in Luzon with 42.8 percent,
01:03followed by Visayas with 37.6 percent, 25.8 percent in Metro Manila, and 20.5 percent in Mindanao.
01:13The fulfillment of the promise of a 20 pesos per kilo rise is seen as one of the main contributors
01:19in the rise of the president's satisfaction rating.
01:23If you look at the numbers, if you look at where he actually improves in terms of performance assessment,
01:29it's mostly concentrated in Visayas.
01:32We know that the 20 peso rise initiative was piloted in Cebu and other parts of the Visayas region,
01:39so that might have contributed.
01:40Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte's satisfaction rating is recorded at 47 percent.
01:47This is lower than her 50 percent satisfaction rating from March to April survey.
01:53It also shows in the survey that 34 percent of Filipinos disagree with Supreme Court's decision
02:00to declare unconstitutional the articles of impeachment against the vice president.
02:05There is a higher degree of disagreement when it comes to the Supreme Court decision,
02:10which is 34 percent versus 26 percent.
02:13More people actually favor having the impeachment trial.
02:18However, the SC still got a high satisfaction rating of 58 percent from the previous 49 percent.
02:25The satisfaction rating of the Senate also increased to 49 percent from 44 percent,
02:31while the House of Representatives got 44 percent from the previous 48 percent.
