00:00Former Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli said his son was dragged and stabbed with a syringe

00:05by an assailant at a Pucca Jaya shopping mall this afternoon. According to Rafizi,

00:10the attack occurred at about 1.45pm as his son and wife were getting into the car.

00:16He claimed that two men, dressed in black with helmets fully covering their faces,

00:21had followed his wife's car on a motorcycle before the incident.

00:24He said his son was immediately taken to University Pucca Malaysia Hospital for treatment.

00:31Rafizi said he and his family have provided statements to the authorities and he also

00:36expressed his gratitude to the police and hospital staff for their assistance.

00:40The Pandan MP described the attack as unprecedented in his political career

00:45and said he believed it was a warning for him not to speak out on certain issues.

00:50However, he said while he will take follow-up measures to enhance security,

00:54he will not yield to any threats and will continue to perform his duties as usual.
