00:14According to sources, this will be the largest slew of appointments in recent years aimed at clearing the backlog of cases, especially in the Klang Valley.
00:22Abdul-Farid Abdul-Gafoor, who served as Bar President between 2019 and 2020, will be joined by 14 other lawyers.
00:31They are J. Kuldeep Kumar, Adam Elias Edward Abdullah, Isa Aziz Ibrahim, Siaw Hock Peng, Shariza Zalina Abdul-Shukor, Helmi Hamza, Rajesh Raghavji, Aimi Zainal Azhar, Samri Masri, Mukot Wai, Shamsul Bahrin Abdul-Manath, S. Kalyana Kumar, Avinder Singil, N.D. Shobaraja.
00:51Kuldeep was part of the legal team that represented Azizla Hadri, one of two former Special Actions Unit officers convicted of Astantuya's murder in 2006.
01:02Last year, Kuldeep also assisted in an appeal to reduce Azizla's death sentence to a maximum 40-year jail term before a special federal court panel.
