06:18yes i'm good so you want to know your first challenge absolutely okay if you ask any designer
06:30where they first fell in love with fashion i think one answer comes up more than any other the disney
06:36princess the princesses have inspired so many designers for decades and as you know behind every
06:45powerful princess there's something lurking the disney villain yes not only were they scary but they
06:56were fabulously evil okay designers we're in a new home with new rules so for your first challenge
07:04you will be forming fashion houses heidi what are you doing to us one house will be house of princess
07:14while the other will be the house of villains please stand on the side that your work is right here
07:22right here oh my god your house is the house of princess okay i don't want to sew in all black
07:30that makes you house of villains each house must create a cohesive collection
07:36that's c word for the very first runway show at the enchanted united palace
07:44we only have one day to create this look you guys have 45 minutes to brainstorm to sketch
07:53and then you run off to mood to get your fabric oh god i'm so happy to be here and i can't believe
07:59i'm saying this again i'll see you on the runway
08:02love you heidi what's happening i am having a moment of ptsd because my first challenge
08:15in season 19 was a group challenge and now i'm in season 21 and it's also a group challenge i'm getting
08:24hives i'm sweating i'm like having panic attacks i cannot be eliminated first not again
08:41our first challenge is a group challenge so we have to sketch and figure out what we're gonna have
08:46going on so we can bring these princess looks to life it is game on let's go what's that one thing that
08:52can do it all throughout all the collection i think it's gonna come down to the fabric selection
08:57fabric i definitely got inspired by ursula and since i have a delicious curvaceous girl as a model
09:06i want to do a powerful suit fit it all the way below the knee and then it's going to go out i want
09:11to make sure her body looks like snatch i think a villain has a good cape and if i can switch up the
09:18idea of having a cape would we like that yes i grew up on a farm when i created utica it was
09:26a conduit for my queer artistic energy because back on the farm i am the gay community i'm the mayor
09:33of queerville i mostly do these one-of-a-kind bespoke pieces for my community but not everybody
09:41wants to ready-to-wear drag outfit so i'm worried about that it could get too costumey if i don't
09:48do it right it has to be cohesive so we should we should think of a theme like a palette i work with
09:56my brother 24 7 so if i can win this for myself it's proving myself i'm excited to intimidate the
10:04other designers and i'm excited to intimidate my brother the color palette's right right the fabric
10:09that i brought from home it's literally that fabric the butterfly but it's in pink and it has orangey
10:15tones the butterflies are blue so let's have the inspiration of our collection be butterfly

14:28to be a beauty queen here's my pageant wave i was second runner-up in project runway philippines season
14:39one and first runner-up and dress my tour being in those competitions will help me to finally win
14:46this competition no more runner-ups but to win the competition how's it going diva this one
14:58i can't really get a read on vj this is a team challenge and you have to be a little receptive to
15:04other people's critique and interest in what you're doing she really is in her own zone and to us it
15:10seems like she's being an asshole
15:18i can't even fight since yeah i can't even hide it i know what you want i know you like it

15:32color palettes coming together yeah and that transition couldn't be any more perfect
15:36i'm feeling like my team is a winning team and i guess you can call me the team leader just because
15:42they actually fell in love with the fabric that i wanted to use for this challenge but you know
15:46i might turn this try i can make anyone fall in love with anything i think we're doing it you guys
15:51house of princess it's a lot of pink it's a lot of ruffles and there's some butterflies in there

17:57do to make this feel really cool and interesting oh no i have done a waist like this before and i love
18:04asymmetrical i do a lot of asymmetrical so i don't want to give that up i think it's going to be

18:20i like to play with shape a lot i have a degree in electrical engineering i think the engineering has
18:25very heavily influenced my design aesthetic and you look at the structure and you look at the like
18:29silhouettes so i'm going to create a mean puffer jacket along with a wrap satin skirt in this
18:36midnight periwinkle repulsory fabric people may not directly relate it to a princess but listen
18:41every princess need a jacket i'm feeling low-key tinkerbell for real for real making these cohesive
18:46is still part of the challenge don't just make a fabulous look for you i know you don't want to listen
18:52this is a skin situation but wait that's all out no it's not wait this is disney oh i know where are

19:07antonio what is happening over here so what i'm going to do is i'm going to do this bubble dress
19:13laced up in the back and then i want to do a coat over it with these two different colored tools
19:19all over the coat so it will be like a reveal you're making kind of two dresses that you might
19:26not finish why can't this piece just be the moment but this one's done already i'm just waiting for my
19:31model it's done because literally like my intern could sew that in 30 minutes like that's not hard
19:38what what the don't lose it completely but like what else could this be could it have sculpture could
19:45it have some other element that anyone else has something's got to be cohesive like don't you
19:50think the butterfly thing is because of you right yeah okay so then you gotta be amazing
19:58i won't lay you down i feel like he kind of just like slapped me in the face he was like my intern
20:04can make that in 30 minutes i'm like okay i'm a gemini i don't take critiques i take critiques very
20:09like don't tell me what to do but i'm gonna step it up step me up no okay
20:20yuchun what is your work normally like my work is more like very futuristic okay very
20:25edgy and very avant-garde so i think you should do that because this doesn't feel very futuristic
20:31okay it doesn't feel that avant-garde to be honest i haven't made garments like this before for my brand
20:36i always like you know making ready to wear it's always very futuristic very powerful
20:41i'm here to challenge myself my inspiration for this look is from taka so i'm making this like tool
20:48and lace dress with flowers and veins growing over and with a veil please don't be ugly okay thank you
20:56christian hey sus what's happening i'm basically doing a powerful coat dress all right i also have
21:03another dress underneath right so i think the challenge for you is how to make this feel more
21:10fashion like something forward thinking i know in my head how the final product's gonna look and
21:17i think it's elegant now it's about how to make this feel like really modern you know yeah okay i would
21:25love a tour of the brain well we know that a villain loves a cape i'm doing my version of a cape
21:34where the cape is going to connect to the top of the head love it and then clean simple classic
21:41underneath so this is a pant and a top yep pant and a top then the twist oh i love a twist i will
21:48pattern in a curve glove pattern i don't think they want it to feel too costumy so i do think that
21:56that is important with your look because you have such a dramatic moment try not to get in my head
22:03about it i'm used to grant drag on the stage so i am trying to edit how's the team going we've got some
22:12independent creatures we do of course team we have a one in here you have a sassy one yeah this thing
22:19over there in the corner oh vj oh yeah she's what we call in the business interesting wow
22:31i don't think there's a problem with bingo but when it's your own team come on
22:35we just have a rectangle and fabric draped on the mannequin i i don't know what like the vibe is
22:41we have four more hours to finish everything and then you will be sending your models to
22:45the ulta beauty salon and i'll see you guys in a little bit for model fittings don't turn into a
22:51pumpkin bye we are meeting right now i think the house of villains didn't get enough great feedback
23:00from christian suriano so i must demand a team meeting right now because i cannot go home on the
23:06first challenge let's step back it doesn't look cohesive we need to add an element i think the
23:13cohesiveness is all about the flowers right you're also the only one with lace so we have to incorporate
23:19lace somewhere i don't have more ladies well you need to cut a little piece so it needs to be cohesive
23:25have you ever made a collection yeah being cohesive is making it that it looks like it's from the same
23:33collection and same design i know but why lace no one has lace that's what i'm saying no one has
23:37this leather no one has this velvet i'm adding velvet on mine i'm adding that your flower as well
23:43mr yushin this is a team challenge i'm not meaning taking his lace to like sabotage him i'm just trying
23:49to do the best that i can for the red i mean it's beautiful but it seems like we don't have red for
23:54any other looks yeah i think if you do like a red i also i'm very i want to hold back i don't really
24:00understand why i have to devote my lace why he's doing this to me well he's the biggest problem in
24:06the team i'm just saying if we want to make the collection cohesive i know you're the only one with

26:10runway as you know in fashion one day you're in and the next day you're out and in my case you're back
26:16in again for our first challenge our designers formed fashion houses two teams of six designers
26:26creating cohesive collections inspired by disney princesses or disney villains i feel so confident
26:44this dress is really giving me a vibe of cool modern i would walk out of here with that happy i'm telling
26:52you that girl is a villain you can wear it now it's not so costuming i think it's beautiful
27:01seeing my look go down the runway i'm really happy i'm proud of it
27:08just to see the scarf dragon so it gave some kind of sense of elegance and dramatic effect
27:13the shape of my gown looks so clean and elegant i love the way the light hits the velvet the collar is
27:24exciting it gives drama it's made well so i couldn't be more pleased that this is the first piece that
27:30the judges see for me
27:31i am so happy she's giving me villain vibe the leather is moving the pants is well made perfectly
27:44tailored for her it's like i'm so speechless wow i'm pinching myself seeing my look going down the runway
27:53it's perfect chic and i feel like she looks like the villain don't put your curse on me i know
28:08this look is the magnum opus of my mix between grand and sophisticated look at the detail of the glove
28:16it's so witchy it's harnessing wind and it just feels like i have created something that is truly
28:24special i hope that they get a good meal from what i'm serving

28:40i just cannot take my eyes off with my girl because she is so beautiful and i did that

29:26butterfly fabric that i brought from home makes me feel so nurtured love and accomplished

29:40she is just floating in my gown and it's exactly the feeling i wanted it is modern princess feeling
29:50i love how the tool floats it's like a little dance happening on the fabric i feel very proud
29:57i love how the world i want to know seeing my princess slash queen garment who i think she
30:04definitely owned the space i knew that it was over

30:20a fairy tale ending and which one just ends my heart is racing and i love my look i'm sure the judges

32:55to me this is now i love this especially now everything is about sheer and so i feel like you're
33:00right on what's happening right now and she looks beautiful i would wear this too gorgeous i really like
33:05your dress it's young it's sexy it's gothic it's evil i can definitely see jenna ortega in this dress
33:14at a premiere of wednesday adams a slight change i would have switched to styling with the boots but i
33:20think it is a really really great dress and i think it is very commercial thank you the flower in the back
33:25is curious but i love the ruching that you did on the bodice if we change this black into pink you
33:33could be in the princess yeah just say yeah i'm versatile all right oh me too

33:48you're a little bit of a dress okay your model is actually quite petite however she felt grandiose
33:56it was like this dark shadow had just slithered through this stage it wasn't just the clothes it
34:03was a feeling the construction was really really good the velvet was a great idea velvet always looked
34:10so rich there was a little things that i noticed on the cape there was a scene that i wish i didn't see
34:17and a little bit of the hem is puckering but you did such a beautiful job bravo my love it's giving
34:22me villain but it's not giving me costume i feel like if you don't have this cape on you wear this
34:27jumpsuit underneath it's like modern it's cool i would want to wear it i love the nails because this
34:33little detail i was like yes and she looks stunning all right jesus jesus it's so lovely to see you again
34:43it was bold of you to choose a color when everybody else stuck to black i think that's why you're up
34:51here is because in a sea of black to have this fabrication that feels really rich and really
34:56luxe was really important for me it was very important to make her feel sexy and i think that
35:02i embody that i love the code i think it's fabulous i hated it i was the only one i was out judge hate
35:10is such a big word it's a short word it's only four letters i'm sorry if you hate the code
35:17i hate the whole look
35:22oh don't get emotional please we liked it i love how your model looks she feels regal we need ambitious
35:32designers guys i have to disagree with everything nina said to me she doesn't look cool she doesn't
35:40look young she looks like a nigerian auntie i have clients of all different sizes ages and one thing
35:48you have to care about is the placement of the breast then you could have done something to lift the
35:54breasts a little bit more if you're going to say that you want to make a curvy woman feel beautiful and
35:59powerful and all those things do you have to do it in your design does anyone disagree with any of
36:04that yeah a lot of the times i feel like designers put a curvy girl into something so loose that we
36:12can't see the beautiful curves then i think you look beautiful okay all right now it's time to name our winner
