00:00okay welcome to lights camera barstool august 12th the long-awaited weapons review uh a movie i
00:23think we've been looking forward to for a long time especially after craggers just kind of like
00:28knocked it out of the park out of nowhere with barbarian uh and then all the hype going to this
00:32movie was crazy because they're like hey we're gonna give you a big budget uh and there's a big
00:36bidding war for the the movie and then jordan peele like we talked about all every time he fired
00:41his team when they couldn't get the rights to the movie so a lot of hype going into this and very
00:46excited to talk about it yeah that jordan peele story ended up being like the number one piece
00:50of marketing for this movie couldn't be better like i i knew it was a story but i didn't expect
00:55it to like break through to like my just mainstream like normal friends like my normal friends know
01:00about that like they know about that which is like a crazy kind of inside hollywood thing to
01:05reach to the surface but yeah no it's i think benefited weapons especially their box office which
01:12holy shit yeah we'll talk about that it's crazy holy shit crush projections crushed them um yeah i i'm
01:19excited to talk about this one very excited to talk about that we'll also be doing a uh combined
01:23ranking of horror movies over the last decades of 2015 to 2025 or to the present day i guess
01:28and then as a special treat sort of just so you guys know ahead of time after like the end of today
01:33this is monday we'll be recording a watch along of a movie which we've been dying to watch but
01:38purposely having because we want to make a big experience out of it ice cubes war of the worlds
01:42it's been so hard not to watch this movie and waiting for this watch along but i need to do the
01:48watch along i need to watch it with friends um i was like you know just eyeing it coming home
01:53you know late nights and just seeing that i'm like 11 o'clock this is the perfect time to throw
01:57this on but i need my friends with me and i cannot wait i've been seeing the gifts on the timeline the
02:02videos the clips and it just looks like the biggest pile of shit i've ever seen i cannot wait
02:08it was it held steady at a zero percent for a long time like about at least a week i think it
02:14bumped up to like one or two now but very very pumped this up when we were texting about setting up
02:19this watch along yeah he said a zero percent in my eyes is almost as good as a 100 he's right it
02:25makes the must watch it's hard it is hard to like hold a zero percent on rotten tomatoes like it is
02:32really fucking hard because like if it's even slightly positive they'll give you you need every
02:37single person to give it the equivalent of below a 70 right so like that is that is so hard you need
02:42to you find at least one you know rotten tomatoes twinnick like the armand white so we'll just go the
02:47opposite way no matter what so maybe he is the one percent i have no idea no it looks so bad i can't
02:54believe that there was just i don't know we'll talk about it on the watch along because i have so
02:58many thoughts on like just even that movie being made three percent uh jordan hoffman from
03:03entertainment weekly said it's certainly stupid but also a great deal of fun he's the guy that brought
03:07this up uh out of the out of the dredge uh but anyway yeah i'll be doing that that'll be in a
03:12separate video but just look out for that um tomorrow uh before all that stuff let's talk
03:17about some news we got the first trailer for the paper which is obviously a sort of i don't know if
03:22you want to call it like a spinoff but it is uh of the office greg daniels created in toledo ohio
03:29a documentary crew focuses its efforts on the toledo truth teller an historic but declining
03:33midwestern newspaper trying to resurrect itself with volunteer reporters uh domino gleason's the
03:37big ones uh sabrina impachiatore who was big in uh white lotus season two other i guess big star out
03:44of this um but yeah it's the trailer looks like weirdly way different i think than the office feel
03:50i don't know how to explain it but it doesn't look the same it does but i i feel like and i was
03:55obviously i was in like sixth grade i think when the office premiered in the u.s but i do remember i
04:00watched season one i was one of the early adapters to it but i feel like the marketing was very
04:05similar for the first season of the office like just trying to sell it as a workplace comedy like
04:10just kind of light and airy but yeah no it definitely does not feel like you know season
04:15two on the office that's for sure it doesn't look goofy it looks more serious i don't know how to
04:19explain it yeah no at least based on the trailer that's what i was gonna say i was gonna say that
04:23the the original run of the office was way more workplace comedy um like generalized this feels like
04:29it's really gonna be tackling like new age media and online consumerism and like it feels like it's
04:35gonna be of the times uh which i don't know if that works i don't know if people want that yeah i
04:42mean i got no clue um i'm not this isn't something i'm like you know gonna be setting my timer to you
04:48know i mean i'm not no alerts to go watch this at all although i do love donald gleason quite a bit
04:52i do love donald gleason yes uh that is like the big plus here i mean like if it ends up being good
04:59hell yeah like that would be fucking awesome to have this kind of workplace comedy back but
05:04i don't know the sitcoms have not been all that great lately no about as bad as like
05:12movies have been comedy movies have been i'd say sitcom sitcoms have been in the same boat
05:17uh we had the first show for if i had legs i'd kick you uh with her life crashing down around
05:22her linda attempts to navigate her child's mysterious illness her absent husband and
05:26a missing person and an increasing hostile relationship with a therapist uh rose byrne
05:30as the star conan is the therapist which is i i didn't back check it but it's like gotta be the
05:35first time he's been in a movie in a hot minute he's been in kojima games where he's been in movies
05:39what movies has he been in i couldn't tell you unless he did like a voice in the b movie
05:46that's like the only thing i can think of uh he was he did a voice in futurama that's tv show
05:52yeah i mean he has 27 credits on imdb and they're all like himself yeah it's it's great show by the
05:59way let's see yeah none not really not really anything it's just a lot of voices and tv shows
06:04but that's basically it it's a very funny cast list yeah uh so conan and brian was the next one up
06:10then there was uh asap rocky and christian slater just a weird crew very strange crew woke
06:16yeah very weird grouping of people um i like rose bernard i actually just re-watched uh instant
06:21family kind of recently what a great movie pleasant pleasant streamer that is uh that movie
06:28to me is like i feel like mark walberg should watch that and be like this is what i should do
06:31because he's like a pretty charming dad character when he wants to be oh yeah and he just doesn't
06:36he's like no i want to do the union or like 15 action franchises and father stew r-rated re-release
06:42r-rated re-release how could we forget uh but yeah so if i'd like to kick it looks cool like
06:47interesting i like the crew it's it's weird like it's it's weird enough where like if this was like
06:52a normal cast of like just kind of c-listers or whatever i'd be like whatever yeah like this is
06:55such a strange grouping of humans that i'm pretty i'm intrigued yeah no and we'll talk about it with
07:01weapons but anytime you get a trailer that really doesn't give much away i'm just 10 times more
07:05interested yeah like i have really no clue what this movie is about uh the early reactions have
07:12been uh non-helpful i should say like no one's giving much away they just say it's all over the
07:17place um so yeah no i'm i'm kind of excited for this and asap rocky what the fuck just coming out
07:24of nowhere just deciding to be like an art house actor now like yeah he's doing a spike lee movie and
07:28then a uh who's the director on this it's uh bronstein yes i mean what the hell this is it's
07:35a 93 on ron right now uh oh damn through 20 something or 40 i'll be honest for a movie like
07:41that that is or at least what it seems like like a very absurdist abstract movie that's kind of
07:47surprising that it would have that high of a score we also have the first trailer for j uh j kelly
07:52famous movie actor j kelly and his devoted manager ron embark on a whirlwind and unexpected profound
07:57journey throughout europe uh along the way that both men are forced to confront choices that
08:01they've made the relationship with their loved ones and the legacies that they'll leave behind
08:04directed by noah bomback uh starring george clooney's and adam sandler's the main two then also
08:09laura dern if you couldn't already guess there's a noah bomback joint and uh billy crude up as well
08:13uh we strange pairing sandler and clooney like i feel like like obviously i feel like it more so
08:20adam sandler has delved into the clooney world than clooney has delved into the sandler world
08:24uh as far as like getting more into like serious pictures and things like that uh yeah but i'm
08:29interested in this for sure i mean bomback i feel like is a very talented screenwriter in
08:35relationships between two people specifically if that makes sense i know it's kind of just
08:38everything he does but it's he's very good at that and i'm interested because this is like
08:42something so applicable to like inside hollywood world stuff but also i think you can apply it to
08:47anybody like anyone who's starting to get old enough to be considered a washed up or whatever
08:50or has been so uh i'm i'm kind of kind of want to see i want to see what uh adam sandler's got here
08:56so as well as well as clooney because i feel like i haven't seen him in anything good in a while
08:59yeah i mean and clooney and sandler are like two of the guys in hollywood that every time you get
09:03like a behind the scenes story it's always just like oh yeah they're the fucking man like they like
09:08i think they install like basketball hoops on all their sets like they're very cool guys like just to
09:13seem or at least it seems like to hang out with uh and bomback is like just a good director like
09:18yeah i find him a little annoying and grating at times and uh his personal life is questionable
09:23um but his movies are good like so i do think this will be good straight to netflix i don't love that
09:32don't love that at all uh but he obviously has that deal um and clooney i need to see clooney like
09:39he needs one more great one i don't know this will be it but you look at the last like 10 years of
09:45his career and he's been trying at points but for the most part he it feels like he's george clooney
09:52the the celebrity yeah and george clooney the movie star a political advocate or whatever like not so
09:58much the uh what do you call it the actual actor like his last movies are wolves ticket to paradise
10:04i think yeah like the last good one but that's like very but then before that was midnight sky
10:09which was dog shit yeah like slop wolf was terrible wolf was bad if he also had a voice in
10:14oh the flash cam i forgot he he closed out the dcu as their batman i forgot about that also he's i
10:23guess directing he did boys in the boat which is solid yeah tender bar which i liked yeah then
10:29midnight sky was a pile of shit yeah but you see what i'm saying like yeah where's his next oceans
10:34where's his next michael clayton for sure he's one of the great movie stars of my lifetime without
10:40i think like the resume to really back it up i don't know does that make sense to you he's he's
10:46way more of a like he's got a great career don't get me wrong but he is top of the a-list celebrity
10:51wise and i don't know if he really has that kind of when you talk about like like there's a lot of
10:56arguments that go around the term household name like yeah household oh like you know what i mean
11:01there's so few people in the hollywood world that are household names so few and like people are so
11:05dumb about the way they they approach that they'll be like yeah like um austin ball is a household
11:09name no he's not like like he's not not timothy chalamet is a household name no he's not like not
11:14yet but he's he's the closest of the guys that are young like your fucking mom doesn't know who
11:19timothy chalamet is you know what i mean like no everybody in regardless of age group knows who jay
11:23george clooney is gender race doesn't matter everyone knows george clooney that is a household name and
11:28he really just doesn't have he's just doing so much in espresso stuff and casamigos and whatever
11:33it's true he's just raking in bills i mean the guy is obscenely wealthy now taking dumps in richard
11:40kind's cat box or whatever that too one of the funniest stories uh but yeah so that is j kelly
11:46excited for that uh matt smith is joining starfighter also interesting um supposedly as the villain
11:52starfighter so far it's just sean levy ryan goss and me and goth they're the only two people
11:55confirmed other than him uh i mean yeah he's he's got a villain face he's got like that british
11:59aristocrat evil guy face perfect for like i don't time star wars villain face yeah i think it's perfect
12:04for and i'm assuming starfighter is not going to be a jedi thing i'm assuming i mean i don't know
12:09i'd hope i honestly hope not i think he'd make a good sith i also think he'd be a much better like
12:15underground or imperial bad guy something like that he'd look good in a an imperial office in like the
12:21hat yeah hell he'd look great in that i think it's a great casting gossing already great goth is
12:25obviously like i think one of the top tier actresses period i mean yeah again i'll always
12:30go back to just go look what she she gave some of the best acting performances of a year and like
12:34kind of like a cheap horror movie yeah like she's she's a beast and smith is obviously a fantastic
12:39actor in gossling i mean this great combo so far sean levy is the only thing that people will find
12:43questionable but i think there is a world where it's like if you're trying to make a star wars movie
12:48you do kind of want to be a little popcorn in a way and that yeah terrible yeah um the cast is like
12:54clearly what they're going to sell on here i mean these are some of the bigger names that they've
12:59cast since the prequel trilogy right i mean the sequel trilogy had no name as big as no names i
13:05mean you think driver but driver wasn't like no not even close i know i mean star wars made driver
13:11more or less i mean he's on girls uh and like other stuff but yeah no i mean like this is this is a big
13:19fucking cast for star wars anything even their series they haven't really pulled in big name
13:24actors like pager pascal wasn't pager pascal no no like they like nobody was especially in the
13:30sequel trilogy none of the outside of legacy castings like none of those people were stars like that
13:35yeah none of them so like the biggest star would be daniel craig doing an uncredited cameo
13:41yeah as a stormtrooper which is yeah so this is a pretty huge cast and it's also like i feel like
13:48the sean levy world of entertainment cinema is so different for from the mia goth and like
13:55it's very different like sort of world of cinema so like that is it's kind of a weird ryan gosling
14:00sean levy kind of makes sense yeah you know gosling has done a lot of popcorn stuff like that for sure
14:05but mia goth so that's the most random one and then actually thought obviously too like i don't know
14:11a british person on set with sean levy just sounds great two of them just sounds yeah two of them um
14:17i don't know i don't know um and then a couple more things the one piece season two trailer teaser
14:23really uh hit the airwaves uh again also already got renewed for season three you've got to first
14:28look at a couple of new characters nico robin probably being the biggest i would say out of
14:31all of them and then like smoker a few other ones uh just looks cool i mean again that is this is a
14:36series where when initially drop and we had talked about it when they even announced like they were
14:41going to do it yeah like no way this works it's so fantastical like how do you adapt live every time
14:46they adapt live action anime like 99.9 percent of the time it sucks and this is like such one where
14:51like you it doesn't seem to apply to live action yeah versus something like you know cowboy bebop where
14:57you just do the mandalorian reskin or whatever but like this is it looks it was just good it was a
15:02good first season yeah it was really well paced i think which helped it yeah and uh they didn't
15:09shy away from like house corny and or maybe corny is not the word campy i guess would be the word
15:15they didn't shy away from the camp and like the absurdity of it all which i think a lot of like
15:19those animated adaptations they get to live action and they kind of take all the magic out of like
15:23what made you fall in love with the animated series um which one piece didn't it's still not as good as
15:29the animated series um but like be right but the the fact that it's like watchable good and people
15:35have it has fans i think is just a win on its own like a huge win considering the number of
15:41like live action adaptations of animes specifically that have just been fucking terrible really terrible
15:47so yeah it was it was great i caught up on like 10 episodes of the animated series over the weekend
15:53and honestly i think i want to re-watch the uh the live action too probably before starting this but
15:57i liked it also who's um he's the dracula ass guy i always forget his name mihawk yeah dracula mihawk
16:04his name is dracula yeah he was good at he their live action version of him was really good too
16:09yeah very just i don't know it looks good quick little teaser new characters look cool i'm interested
16:14um and lastly dave batista has been cast as the villain in chad stahelski's highlander
16:19uh reboot alongside i didn't see that yeah alongside henry cavill and russell crowe i i weirdly said like
16:25after they cast batista i was like the if you're looking for somebody to replace the have you ever
16:31watched highlander no i haven't so the the main bad guy is this guy called the kurgan and he's played
16:36by clancy brown okay and like you like you realize his face like his voice like all that stuff he
16:40needs like a really villain creepy gross bad guy weirdly the best replacement for him would have
16:46been michael shannon and just turning this into an entire man of steel reboot with henry cavill and
16:50russell crowe as well but uh i mean dave batista is still great actor uh interested to see how this
16:55plays out because i like highlander a lot it's a very interesting lore movie that's been
17:00often imitated and very seldom kind of like done well uh and it was kind of i think it's chris lambert
17:07plays the main guy in it and he's so bad like terrible they have like i think he's french canadian
17:13or maybe just french and he's playing a scottish guy and he can't do either accent right and it's
17:17just it's really he's really bad and but the whole movie is still so cool i don't care uh so excited to
17:22see what stahelski has uh planned here especially just because uh applying his fighting techniques to
17:26something like this versus in 1980s highlander where like they were just doing yeah bang bang
17:32uh while like the coolest queen soundtrack like made for that movie played in the background
17:37uh yeah that wasn't do they have an artist uh set up yet do they know who's going to do the
17:42soundtrack for this one i don't what's the modern day queen the answer is nothing but like i don't i
17:46don't know what band you get to kind of replicate that they're gonna get like fucking a singer it's
17:51gonna be like um the weekend or some shit oh no stahelski has good taste i think those john wick
17:58soundtracks fucking they do rip yeah i love when they like be in another country and then they'll
18:02just like let the like french version of painted black run yeah like i love that i loved all those
18:07needle drops um but yeah now stahelski i think is just cast is great obviously yeah but stahelski i
18:13think is the selling point i mean this is the first thing he's done outside of the john wick
18:16universe as a director hasn't really missed anything period no i am very and obviously we
18:22just watched uh i didn't finish it but the uh lazarus oh yeah yeah that was really cool
18:28involved in um yeah no super talented guy i want to see him do something outside the john wick
18:34universe i would love to get eight more john wick movies but i also want stahelski to
18:37show me show me what else he's got yeah because there's like a lot of stuff in john wick that's like
18:42just straight pulled from like westerns and i mean other uh you know period pieces so getting
18:49outside of like you know the modern age hitman society what else can he do i'm pretty pumped
18:55like this is he's one of the more exciting voices we have right now yeah especially in the action
18:59world uh okay now we can talk about weapons uh weapons when all but one child from the same class
19:05mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time the community is left questioning
19:09who or what is behind their disappearance uh zach crager second effort after barbarian which again
19:14we talked about we liked a lot uh julia garner josh brolin all the narrow like benedict wong austin
19:19abrams amy madigan uh in the cast so the like we said a lot a lot a lot of hype going into this movie
19:26and what's kind of made me nervous about it is um obviously the hype hype you can be disappointed
19:31really easily when you're that excited for something going into it but in addition to that the horror
19:36world as far as early reactions go it's been wrong yeah extremely wrong you know over the last like
19:42like two three years they'd be like this long legs oh my god you're gonna watch this you're never gonna
19:46be the same holy shit it's the best movie of the year and it's just okay yeah like they've been very
19:50over very overzealous in their reaction of horror recently so that was definitely a little bit hesitant
19:56from both those things because all the early praise is super high as well um and watch the movie i
20:02i loved it yeah it's just a damn good movie uh i don't know if it's totally going to be what
20:07everyone expected out of it if they might think it's more like a pure horror it's gonna be more
20:10it's really like a horror comedy pretty flat out i think like more maybe a dark dark not even dark
20:17comedy but it's horror comedy it's funny as fuck it is very funny but like it's scary as shit still
20:23but like it's funny yes it is very funny i don't know if i'd put it in horror comedy though
20:27i don't know it's it's kind of like the rom-com argument we had where it's like this is more of
20:31like i would say the horror is like an 80 to 20 split yes versus comedy but like it's still funny
20:36as shit uh but i man dude i love this movie it does so many cool things like um throughout the
20:43different like each because you're following different acts like you know i mean following
20:46different characters throughout their timelines and how they intersect uh and each one like you get
20:50like a little bit of something different uh like we were saying like i said before it blends the
20:54genres really well uh builds suspense really well does like a lot of really cool and inventive stuff
20:59with camera work um specific uh specifically i think what he did was he kind of like took a lot
21:05of techniques that were made horror classics great especially in the camera work world and kind of blend
21:10them all into one like uh you have like the halloween pov shot going upstairs you have like other stuff
21:16from like friday the 13th or from like fucking like everything like you get it all in the one little
21:20spot uh the camera work is great and i also think just the acting across the board
21:24a plus oh yeah you can't find a bad performance in this movie which is rare and also when you think
21:28about the fact that this movie really had they had a really late recasting after the strikes and shit
21:33like that like that also makes it even more impressive uh very very impressed the second
21:37effort and i think the big thing i took away from it is that i am so excited to see what he does now
21:42with resident evil which is a cool property and he said he's making all original shit with that too
21:47so very excited to see what cragger's got uh cooked up for that yeah no cragger i think really
21:51established himself here and says that you know barbarian wasn't a one-hit wonder i mean this is
21:57a big and i really like barbarian i think this is a big step up uh do i enjoy it infinity times more
22:04than barbarian no but like as a movie as a filmmaker he's like on another level here uh you brought up the
22:11camera work i think the camera work is fantastic and like builds an atmosphere and puts you in a
22:15perspective with each chapter that like really has you on the edge of your seat throughout the movie
22:21um just really impressive stuff you brought up the cast so good one of the best ensembles maybe the
22:28best ensemble of the year uh julia gardner was so good and so was josh brolin um and then we'll talk
22:35about i think was she included in the trailers madigan i don't think so not that i had seen there is a late
22:41entry which you don't expect and she shows up and she i think steals the show eats it up um so yeah
22:48fantastic a lot to digest i think um like in the subtext i've seen a lot of people interpreting it
22:55different ways i don't think it's meant to be one set i don't think there's supposed to be one set
23:00interpretation of it which i really like and what else i appreciate is that there's been a lot of horror
23:07movies the last 15 years especially in like the post-hereditary world where everyone wants the
23:13actual abstract metaphor the metaphor to be the feature of the movie yeah that is not the case
23:20here there are interpretations which make it very enjoyable but at the end of the day this is a
23:26fucking horror movie like an entertainment horror movie this is entertaining as fuck like you don't need
23:31to read into it any further if you don't want to you can just go to the theater and have your
23:36shit scared and laugh like you said very funny um so yeah no one of the best horror movies of the
23:43year i kind of want to see it again um yeah no i let's get in let's let's talk some spoilers this
23:50is kind of a tough movie to talk about let's just get into spoilers so if you haven't watched yet make
23:54sure to skip forward um there are a lot of scenes i think i wanted to point out uh from the movie just
23:59like i just wrote down everything i could think of like scene wise where i'm like it'd be fun to talk
24:02about i think everything with austin abrams was so funny right he he was number one a perfect junkie
24:09like you couldn't look and act more like a junkie if you tried excellent stuff there he's the one guy
24:14that uh cragger says that he kept from the original cast yeah the only guy that's pascal dropped out
24:19and they had to rework everything abrams was the only guy he kept from that og cast uh so every scene
24:24with him i thought was hysterical like him pointing out willow was so like what do you say willow oh hell
24:30yeah or something like it's really funny i think when alden eric socks him yeah or hitting the needle
24:36or whatever like that i don't know how to i don't know how they film that and make that look different
24:40it looked like he really punched him oh yeah it looked like he walloped him in the face uh and then
24:45i think when he turned zombie or whatever and dude joss brolin just g tossing him like all over the
24:51fucking room that was so looney tunes so like that's the kind of like comedy where it's like it works
24:58really well because you don't have to stop the movie and be like oh he's right behind me or like
25:02drop like a one-liner or quit it's just really fucking funny physical humor and he's making
25:06really funny noises too yeah that works like it makes sense like yeah there's a zombie going after
25:11me like it's not gonna go down like it's very fucking funny yeah watch joss brolin just continually
25:15have to beat this guy like he like punches in the face goes and then he goes like right back up
25:20kind of reminded me of the uh austin powers 2 a bit where he's like why won't you die
25:24just stay down please and he's throwing him across this room uh but everything with him i
25:31thought austin he knocked it out of the park um the other things the ending chase i think you can't
25:37we talked about it right after you got out i mean the you can't really end a movie much better than
25:40that it'd be damn near impossible i think it it was a very good movie up until that point and cemented
25:49itself is one of my favorites of the year with that ending the kids is fucking not not all of them
25:55can they clearly the zombies can like use doors like you know what i mean like they can they're
25:59fiscally capable of it but like just slamming through the windows like smashing through these
26:03houses is so fucking funny and then her just like running away just like screaming or else trying to
26:09go through every single house like it guy just mowing his lawn just like what what the fuck an army
26:14of kids chasing this woman uh so good and then like when they catch her just like oh really killing
26:20this woman yes i loved the the sound design like the way they they shot it seeing like her head get
26:26split open yeah um yeah no they showed enough but not too much of the actual gore like oh that was
26:34great that was such a great ending yeah it was bloody but not too gory which i liked uh the also you
26:41know what really killed me everything with like the benedict long and his husband scene yes so funny
26:46his husband coming into the living room with the 18 hot dogs that is seven hot dogs not 18 i gotta
26:52say this looks like something i'm gonna do in the near future uh seven hot dogs and benedict long's
26:56on the couch like a little crab hand motion like he's like give it to me oh dude they're wearing
27:01matching mickey and minnie mouse yeah and they're looking shirts and you think they're like queuing up
27:04like a game because you know hot dogs watch a baseball game or some sort of sporting event now they're
27:09watching some like bug document dude it was so funny and then uh even like right after that when
27:14like they turn him benedict long zombie yeah and he just like pukes like like the motor oil shit all
27:21over him oh and then like that is also a very funny scene i think too when like they cut to him just
27:25running through the town just like cut cut cut to like different sections of him like running with
27:29the fucking naruto arms like through the town that killed me um yeah no every single which i have to ask
27:36which chapter was your favorite if you exclude the final chapter which i think i really liked i
27:41guess the druggy chapter i think was one of the funniest to me yeah because like that was everything
27:45with him was great with like him trying to pawn off all the shit that he's stealing him like sitting
27:50there with the with the family it's like they're zombified or whatever sitting there standing still
27:53yes oh it fucking killed me yes when he turns around that after the willow dvd yeah this is where
27:59like the comedy and horror balance so well yeah because it would have you on the edge of your seat
28:03and then you saw you like disarm you and then immediately snap back and be like oh you think
28:07that willow dvd is funny well there's fucking like dead parents sitting on the couch just staring at
28:11him um horrifying i'd also like to bring up the kid which do you have his name pulled uh it was
28:18carry something he was really good i don't know what they're putting in these kids drinks lately but
28:22we've gotten a lot of great child performances the past few years especially in the horror lane and this
28:27kid is another entry into that he was so good not an easy role to pull off
28:32dude he was he was very very like all the kids i think zero yes not everyone had a huge role to
28:38play or anything like that but like the that kid was excellent he had a big fucking he had a whole
28:43chapter you know what i mean like he had a lot to do uh and i thought he did that really well and
28:48then like amy madigan man yeah i think she's the the clear mvp of this movie and that's crazy
28:54considering like i said i think julia garner gives an a plus performance josh brolin too this is just on
28:59that s tier like it's one of the great horror performances we've had very very good uh the
29:05try to think what else so unsettling you know what scene really got me too like scary wise when uh
29:11julia garner passes out drunk in the in front of their house yes and she comes like the mom comes out
29:16of the house hear it this is where the camera work was so good because you just stay on julia
29:20garner instead of panning over to see what is getting into her car you just hear the car door open
29:25you hear the car door shut and then it just cuts to the next scene it's no do you get the the what
29:30do you call the scissors yes the scissors that's what it was this is and you you're like what the
29:34fuck was about to happen she cuts the hair gets out of the car and then on to the next one yeah no i
29:38could see the chapters not working for a lot of people it's definitely different yeah um and i get
29:44that's where the magnolia uh comp came in which kreger did an interview apparently that was like
29:50just something he threw out yes the trades were like they ask like you know how do we describe this
29:54thing you're gonna do and i think he was just like ah magnolia horror um i could see that not
30:00working for people but for me i think it like elevated everything because like i said it would
30:04just build up and build up till towards the end of the chapter and then boom and then reset you're
30:09right into the next zone yeah um and then start building up again yep yeah and then you're just
30:14getting different like points of view and everything starts coming together by the end yeah no really
30:20really great the uh all the honestly you know it was really good to the the pov sequences of them
30:26like walking through their their house like the bad house yeah that were really fucking good like
30:31when they're going like upstairs really slow turning corners but then like you'd cut back to like
30:35facing them like dude he was he was excellent man crager and stairs man and old women and old
30:42women yes horrified of old ladies my god and i think i texted you as well when i got out of like
30:48chapel rowan's about to eat so much shit for this because yeah i don't think it was on purpose at
30:51all but oh no it wasn't it she looks that woman looks just like an aged up chapel rowan yeah tough
30:57seed yeah uh do you think this is a anti-trans text anti-c-subtext yeah did you see the transphobic
31:04takes on the timeline jesus christ no they'll find it was uh there was one really really bad take
31:10the guy was like this is transphobic and people were like you just saw like an ugly old lady in a
31:15assumed it was assumed this is a trans how this probably not the take you want to put out there
31:21um yeah no uh what else the dreams the two dream sequences were so good yeah very first one where
31:28she you think she's woken back up it's that old trick yeah you think they woke up from the dream
31:32but oh yeah not really and you see the uh what was her name gladys on the ceiling who you hadn't met
31:39yet so you're just like what the fuck yeah um and then the other one which i think i liked even more
31:44was the josh brolin uh yeah people were people a lot of people asked questions about the gun thing
31:49i think that it's not meant to have a meaning or i don't think it's supposed to have a concrete
31:55meeting yeah so the one thing i could find about it because i looked it up too because i was like i
31:59want in the theater i was like is this a school shooting allegory like yeah is that what they're
32:03trying to get at here so there was a bill in 2022 that would have banned assault rifles it passed
32:10the house with 217 votes okay it happens at 217 but it didn't pass in the senate and i think maybe
32:17that if you want to try and like find something there maybe it's that and like trying to you know
32:22the whole thing with josh brolin's character is he's like i i this is an inexplicable thing how can
32:27all these children just disappear like that's like something that should never happen it's in
32:30it's unexplainable in the real society like yes so you could make it you can make a reach there
32:35i guess and try to put that together there i don't think it's a bad read i don't like i don't think
32:40i think there's a lot of reads that make sense on this movie which yeah back to my original like
32:44opening statement was like the fact that you can have so many reads on it and there isn't a concrete
32:49one i think is a feature of the movie not like a bug to it yeah um in the movie did great like we
32:57were saying before 70 million worldwide oh again 38 million dollar budget which is crazy when
33:01it made warner brothers officially the first studio in history to score six consecutive
33:0540 million dollar openings which is crazy i don't know man zazlov zazlov back against the wall
33:12rent check due but then at the same time like yes disassembling warner brothers discovery again
33:19trying to shut down tcm yeah still trying to shut down tcm and like it's it's it's got ben
33:24mankowitz shilling for ai i feel like he's like a fucking he's a failing upwards type guy oh he's a
33:29regular failing up this does feel like failing upwards yeah it's probably more what's his face
33:34deluca and the other person running their film division uh which they deserve their flowers
33:38yeah no nice little run for warner brothers um the only big question i guess because we kind
33:42of talked about the other stuff i wanted to ask there was a question someone left on my letterbox
33:45too which i did say i would address on the one thing i would ask though for you i guess is would
33:50you do you think this movie would have been better with the original cast which was pedro pascal
33:54in the josh brolin role uh renate renzfer or renzfate yeah yeah from yeah worst person in the
34:01world yeah as um she's gonna play julia gardner brian tyree henry is going to play benedict wong
34:06and then i think tom burke was going to play the dad i think feels like a much different movie
34:13i would agree it feels like and he has said that that he had to change not only just when he recasts
34:20he had to change the script too yeah uh which i don't know how drastic those changes were but it
34:25does feel like like pedro pascal as the hardened father like the kind of you know tough dad yeah
34:33i don't know if i maybe it's because he's played such a softy so many times as a father like a real
34:38you know gooey cinder kind of guy yeah i don't know i don't know if i could see him there i bet the
34:43daughter i bet it would have been a daughter instead of a son honestly that would work um i don't know
34:49renate in the julia gardner spot i don't i think julia gardner was like the perfect substitute
34:55teacher lady you know what i mean like she has she was like that's exactly what i was about to say
34:58she has like very much fourth grade teacher energy yeah i had a math teacher that looked exactly like
35:03her and uh just really seared in my brain um yeah no this is i this is the great cast yeah things
35:12turned out the way they were supposed to and you know abrams got to stick around so we all won in the
35:18end shout out to erenreich man crushed it man the old denosances that was the funniest uh i think
35:23uh chapter his chapter his chapter was like just like it's just perfect alden life he's fucked yeah
35:29that's like the classic alden erenreich performance where he's just like a down on his luck guy he kind
35:34of did that in cocaine bear too yeah um and then like his relationship with his his fiancee and his
35:42future father his future father-in-law being his boss um and the stare he gives him yeah the stare
35:48was so funny um and his like shit with needles like he just keeps getting fucking poked what do
35:56you call it what does he say to him in the car he's like you don't have aids do you yeah he keeps
35:59asking do you have aids yeah i don't think so i wasn't tested uh but yeah so that was a big question
36:04what was the one that you um someone asked like so cinema the cinema score for weapons is an a minus
36:10a lot higher than barbarian at a c plus and it was like what do you think is the difference there
36:15what do you think made this work for people that didn't work for barbarian um i'm trying to think
36:20like what i think it's i think cinema score to be honest is a very flawed metric uh because it's
36:26all based on expectations they don't ask you their question cinema score is an exit poll leaving the
36:33theaters i think what they ask is did this movie meet your expectations okay so i think it comes in
36:39what comes into play is like do you know what to expect with barbarian it was sold as like
36:46an airbnb horror uh yeah with like bill skarsgård yeah with basically bill skarsgård as the villain
36:52there's a major rug pull which i loved but yeah i think that's where the cinema score gets fucked
36:57is shit like that yeah uh so kind of a flawed metric but i do think this this working more for people
37:04than barbarian it's just a better movie it really is just a better movie um tighter better acting
37:11better camera work i think just better across the board also one more thing i want to shout out before
37:17we move on which i learned uh from another interview craig did he did the music for this he made it he
37:23composed the score with his two friends oh that's cool he also i think went to college with and he's
37:29known forever ryan and he's holiday um very cool there's a very small group of directors that have
37:35done that it's like john carpenter yeah carpenter's the big one clint eastwood and that's the two that
37:41i can think of off the top of my head um the opening was that george harrison song which was very good
37:45yes they show all the kids running out of their houses i also man the opening was great too yeah
37:50very creepy little girl this is a true story yeah like so scary little kids are just terrifying
37:57yeah uh okay but yeah that's weapons uh we liked it a lot the i feel like it met expectations like
38:03you were just saying which is very tough considering how high they were um with all the people that were
38:07involved with the how good craig's last movie was it kind of reminds me of um probably i guess how
38:13people would react to midsummer after hereditary is that a good comp because people loved hereditary
38:18and they're like well what's he gonna do next then midsummer was fucking awesome it was huge
38:22but it is very similar i would say that yeah yeah uh so yeah really enjoyed that so now we're
38:28going to do a um a combined ranking of horror movies since 20 or 2015 so there's a lot to choose
38:36from there's like i'm just looking at the list right now i mean like a tentative list i didn't
38:40obviously include everything in it that like every horror movie period but like it's included the ones
38:43that i think are probably worthy being up there uh do you want to go first you want me to go first
38:50get a wheel going man let the let the universe decide what flip a coin or something uh let's
38:57see i'll take tails flip a coin never fails tails you go first tails i go first okay it is tails okay
39:04fuck okay so number 10 pick this is this is hard because there's so there's a lot of good ones and
39:11this is good space though number 10 because you can pick something you know what i'll pick i'll do talk
39:16to me how about that hell yeah talk to me i think it's a good ass horror movie one of my favorites
39:22more of the more new interesting ones uh and we had talked about it with um those two was it raka um
39:27the guys they made talk to me oh the filipo brothers yeah their youtube channel was raka something right
39:32am i crazy uh just something like that yeah yeah their youtube channel does have a different name
39:37yeah uh but they were incredible i thought that movie was awesome all the actors in it were
39:41interesting it was cool idea unique fresh uh very interesting creepy uh really really really
39:46liked to talk to me and i think that's that's worthy of like a 10 spot right yeah it wouldn't
39:53been it it would it would be on the edge for me yeah but it's at 10 i i don't have an issue with
39:59that at all um and i think it's something that could age really well you know directorial debut for
40:05i think two of the more exciting young filmmakers we have right now yeah um which their follow-up
40:10didn't work for me as well uh but still well made yes agreed um god the fucking teeth on that
40:17table god damn it um okay man there's a lot of good movies here you're right whoo
40:26number nine i think this is the only yeah this is definitely the only oscar nominated one on here
40:34so i think we'd be remiss to not include it and i think this is a good spot for it the substance
40:39um might be recency bias but i do think it's one of the better body horrors we've had
40:44and i'm not a big body horror guy but it's a better body horror for me i would say because
40:49i think narratively it's interesting uh really interesting and then demi moore is just fantastic
40:55demi moore's so good market quality's so good quaid quaid brush chewing in that fish eye lens
41:01yeah making disgusting noises great sound design um just sloshing and just grimy noises throughout
41:09um yeah no and it looks great very soundtrack is awesome very solid movie that i think got diluted
41:17by the fact that like the people that watch one movie a year watched it and said this is the best
41:20movie in history yeah so like that kind of diluted it my my it shouldn't at all by the way that's wrong
41:26um but it diluted my my opinion a little bit but in i mean in all objectiveness it is it's awesome
41:31yeah i think it's one of those movies that 20 years from now you'll ask like younger horror
41:36filmmakers like what is one of the bigger inspirations that you had growing up this will
41:40be one of those movies it'll be commonly thrown out all right after the substance this is tough
41:46because there's a lot of really like i'm trying to stick to like the the sort of spirit of it right
41:52we're like there's certain movies which i would consider more of like a horror comedy or more of
41:55like a uh action horror or more of like fuck it's hard like for example what i would love to put
42:01maybe even higher is like train to busan but like that's such like an action horror movie it's not
42:06like a scary horror movie you know what i mean yeah it's a zombie movie that's for sure it's like
42:10arguably the best zombie movie ever and it's just i think that's fair i think yeah son i would
42:15i mean it's in my top 10 on my list not like a pure it's not like a horror horror it's it really
42:20really yeah i think then probably i'm gonna do something else instead i think then what are the
42:27other ones i have on my list here would like a sinner is another great example not very scary
42:31not very scary but for sure it's 100 a horror movie but i feel like it's a classic monster movie
42:36it is it's so not like in the spirit of what i think of when i think of a horror movie if that
42:40makes sense because it's like a fantastic story it is a great action movie it is a great drama it is
42:47like all all those things but at no point when i'm watching that movie i'm like wow that's scary
42:51yeah like you know what i mean it's just not a scary and i feel like it needs to be like more
42:55purely scary to be a horror movie and like that's unfair probably but it will affect a lot of these
43:02for me anyway i think i'll do like maybe like a quiet place fuck this is hard see a quiet place i think
43:12is just as dramatic and non-scary as sinners i think i'm way more scared by anything i've never
43:17i don't think i was scared at any point during sinners i was definitely scared at points during
43:19quiet no but i think there's a crowd that's definitely scared at sinners i'll throw it in
43:24here and you can feel free to to veto it if you want because it's one of my favorite movies
43:28korean movie the wailing i fucking love it i haven't seen it but i know that's like top it's
43:33it's horrifying well well regarded and something i probably should see at some point it is
43:38horrifying it is such a scary movie and you could feel free to to rip it if you want your take it
43:43away no no i've so many people i trust have said this is a great movie so i have no issue with this
43:49being here and i don't i can't veto something i i don't know about uh so then you get number seven
43:55number seven okay
43:57man the top five are easy for me but then once we get past there there's about 15 movies that i think
44:06are very interchangeable and it's just where you want to go
44:10oh you know what number seven no i won't do that this is tough it's very hard
44:19i'm gonna put this here no i'm not gonna do that shit it's hard this is hard
44:30fuck it weapons let's put weapons there i don't think that's wrong um which this might be recency
44:39bias or maybe six months six months from now you know after we've seen it multiple times
44:43this could be too low um yeah no i think everything we just talked about i think this is just a very
44:50exciting movie and a very fun movie to think about and talk about and like i said not only think about
44:56just watch like it's scary as shit and very entertaining yeah the uh and like kind of the
45:01same things i was talking about sinners were like like oh well it does not that there's absolutely
45:05very scary parts parts of this movie like horrifyingly scary like oh like yes full-on jump scare scary
45:10parts of this one so i think that that's fair throwing that in at seven but oh man this is so hard
45:18after here man this is so tough like i think i think i think midsummer can go here yeah i think
45:29midsummer was horrifying a lot of the kind of we've talked about a lot whenever we mentioned
45:32midsummer but like the daylight horror thing is just such a cool concept um it's constantly building
45:37up your suspense and like what's gonna happen what's gonna happen what's gonna happen not as many
45:41like not any like jump scare moments i would say but like a lot of like dread throughout that movie
45:46like what is going to happen i'm so afraid blah blah blah and then like the whole ending 20-ish
45:51minutes are just like what the fuck is happening right now and man pew crushes our boy uh will
45:58poulter crushes will poulter crushes whole crew is great uh chidi what's his name willie jackson harper
46:04yeah very good uh jack rayner jack rayner was the guy right yeah the boyfriend boyfriend the bear
46:10yeah the guy in the bear suit uh yeah no i would have honestly gone higher with it but this is
46:15right in the zone so yeah no veto for me pew i think is this is probably her best performance
46:20of her career still um just so good and like visually just amazing like really does there's a
46:26lot of movies out there where people will be like oh it's like an acid trip it's like doing lsd this
46:30really does like big time he does some sort of like voodoo with the like outer edges of the frame
46:35in every single shot where it's like twisting and twirling twirling yeah uh man what a picture
46:41so midsummer now you have number five number five i want it on here and i don't want it to
46:48not be on here so i'm gonna go nope you're gonna nope this early oh wait no man i'm thinking
46:54different movie with uh you thinking of the other my brain broke but i want this in there no that's
46:59good uh which is once you accept that it's sci-fi jaws it kind of opens up for you um my first viewing
47:06i really liked it and then second viewing i fucking loved it um visually i still cannot believe that
47:11that did not get nominated for best cinematography just gorgeous looking movie um another movie where
47:17the sound design is incredible and a movie that is legitimately fucking horrifying like really scary
47:23uh not throughout but it has like just i would say three or four moments that are as scary as
47:29anything else that i've ever seen i mean the monkey so scary horrifying the scariest one the scariest
47:36part is like the when they get sucked up like that that visually just in the sound and oh such a very
47:43unique look at like a alien you know what i mean yes you're never gonna see something like that i feel
47:48like uh within like a 10 year gap of movies usually everything pretty much looks the same um speaking
47:54we're gonna see that in more of the worlds presumably soon uh so nope off the board i feel
48:00like i feel like we need to have hereditary on here we do so i'll just i'll get out of the way
48:06and i'll throw it on here i actually like midsummer better than hereditary but i feel like
48:09should we let's can we retroactively swap them i feel like that's fine we can change our mind we
48:14can both use our vetoes here yeah we'll double okay double veto and we're gonna flip hereditary
48:19midsummer midsummer to four hereditary to six yeah that was wrong uh so yeah i mean hereditary
48:25is i do think the consent the consensus is i think hereditary over midsummer yeah i would disagree but
48:31i do disagree with that yeah i mean it's very scary and i think the the performance of tony clay is
48:36better than anything in in midsummer no one's pew another like wow how did the academy not yeah come
48:42on she was actually gabriel burn was great like uh it was a wolf one of the i mean yeah one of the
48:46wolves is good yeah i mean they're all good i mean everything's good that looks great interesting
48:50different the dollhouse sequence is cool as fuck the whole ending was just horrifying uh but yeah i
48:58mean hereditary should be on this list i just yeah i mean i think it is probably the most influential
49:02on this list i mean when it came out it really changed everything it changed everything for that
49:06genre uh it changed i mean it's the one that really put a24 on the map it's it's weirdly like one
49:14of the most important movies of the 21st century so now you have number three number three
49:20let's get some aggers on the list baby let's get some aggers on there give me the light
49:26robert this is another one where is it horror it's psychological for sure but is it a psychological
49:33drama i think it is horror horror fantasy yeah sure um sounds right just
49:44one of those movies that it's on the opposite end of like uh really accessible like easy to
49:51understand it's just two guys losing their fucking minds with a lot of like symbolism and imagery that
49:57i don't fully understand but it looks cool and i'm enjoying these performances and i'm scared
50:01throughout so the lighthouse is on the list i think visually it's like the best looking one on here
50:06it's so good to look three is so high three is so high but i'm fuck it uh yeah this is not a
50:14very i wouldn't say a very scary movie definitely like an anxiety builder more than anything else
50:18but yes more like a creeping dread yeah uh so now number two you know what we i feel like we're
50:26we're on the same page for number one it's just what is number two yeah i'm interested to see what
50:30you go with here i have i have a pick but i you i know you don't think it's a horror you think it
50:38should be sinners i do think it should be sinners and here's the thing like i don't i don't disagree
50:43it's just like how it's the best it'd be the best vampire movie yeah no 100 it is a horror movie that
50:49is there is indisputable but like we're not doing the top 10 scariest movies no but like my experience
50:56with sinners is so different than my experience with something like the lighthouse or weapons or
51:01the actually probably some more similar to weapons than anything or like the whaling or
51:05like talk to me like it's such a different type of movie yeah i mean it's so hard to explain like
51:11they're they're running parallel to each other but like here's what i'll say okay i'm gonna do i'll
51:15do sinners i'll just throw it up there because it's but it's the best out of like it could be
51:19probably the best movie out of all these that we've listed so far i feel like actually definitely
51:22the best movie period but it's just like when i think of horror it's just not something that will
51:27ever i think come to mind like hey what's the scariest or what's the what's the best horror movie
51:30you've seen recently i don't know if i'd immediately think sinners as being the best horror movie
51:34yeah like hey what's the best movie you saw in the last year i might say sinners but just i don't
51:38know how to explain it it might just be my broken brain thing but like it's just it's weird but i'll
51:43i'm fine with it it's a horror movie for sure it is it's just the first question people would ask me
51:48when it came out was how scary is it like people it was sold as a horror movie it's definitely sold
51:55as a horror movie but it's just not scary i'd say there's scary parts the opening jump scare
52:00very fucking scary yeah the dad yeah uh the preacher dad and then yeah one i think is like
52:07honestly
52:08very easy it's a very easy call yeah yeah i think it is there's a lot of really fucking good movies
52:17on the list and it's crazy that it's just that clear cut i think to get out i never even considered
52:23a different movie i really didn't years um yeah no it's just one of those things that just kind of
52:29like a magical thing happened with jordan peele and he got i mean not only just a perfect script he
52:34also just got a perfect cast i mean like lakeith stanfield's like the fourth build here yeah
52:39daniel kalua is your lead actor before he's like gone off an academy award-winning uh cult member
52:46um yeah no it's it's one of those things where it just came out and jordan peele immediately became
52:52one of the biggest directors on planet earth um and for good reason it's because of this movie
52:57uh it's awesome innovative unique like very like who thinks of that shit you know yeah like that's
53:02a fucking weird concept the brain swap like it's insane uh and then applying like different shit
53:07onto it obviously like the racial subtext of it like it's just crazy yeah that's another situation
53:10where if you want to read into it you can get a lot of enjoyment going down the rabbit holes of like
53:15everything all the meaning behind it and all the you know metaphors in there but it also just it's a
53:21scary fucking movie it's very scary very entertaining and tight movie moves quick uh so that
53:27our list is then get out sinners the lighthouse midsummer nope hereditary weapons the wailing the
53:33substance and talk to me uh some people don't have opinions on horror movies very strong opinions
53:38some of the ones off the board uh train to busan which we talked about uh us also probably us probably
53:42could have yeah us is really good but like are we gonna put three i mean probably should when i when i
53:49really agonized on over actually which i just couldn't find the right spot for is annihilation i
53:53fucking love annihilation i know so scary so fucking weird but also again you kind of apply to that
53:58same horror logistics to it like how scary is i mean the bear scene is oh yes unbelievable and
54:04then the aliens it's what it's pretty scary uh x also on there we talk about me goth and pearl like
54:10pearl is such so much more a anxiety builder than a like you know scary yes movie uh bone tomahawk is
54:16one of those like fucking destroys your brain for the next year movie you'll ever see ms craig
54:22zeller make more movies please the invitation also could be on there uh yeah mandy which mandy is
54:28psychological fuck up that one that'll ruin your day yeah that's a cool one uh his house was cool
54:33that was one of the better netflix original movies i remember that one it's one where like these
54:36nigerian immigrants are in that um house in like i think in england i don't remember that at all
54:41oh it was pretty good uh barbarian which you talked about uh possessor probably should have
54:46made it on here too possessor is awesome really really good movie uh as far as like recent horror
54:51a quiet place we talked about a bit it's just it's more of i can it's a tough one i've gone back to
54:58them they're all just they're okay they're all like they're a little better they're the thing is
55:02they're a little better than okay but they're not what people like seven and a half to eight out of
55:07tens like they're they're all in about in that range seven to eight out of ten uh but like they
55:12don't really elevate past that point for me green room also very good i don't know if you've seen
55:16that one patrick stewart oh yeah good uh crawl which i liked but also more action than horror yeah
55:22don't breathe was cool long legs we talked about uh nosferatu also could be up there too but like
55:29it's kind of like a weird or gray area see i'd say that is less of a horror than yeah even so i would
55:34agree uh 28 years later same kind of thing where it's like the action element of it is just so
55:38different than what it is you know me in the sort of like the whole uh ray fines like rumination
55:45on grief is one of the coolest fucking like like how is that in a rant a horror movie you see that's
55:50crazy uh bring her back also we talked about it is kind of funny just thinking about long legs
55:54again because that text is to you after weapons like crager is who people think osgood perkins is
55:59like they're like look at osgood perkins he's making these goofy campy horror oh my god he's so cool
56:03it is really funny i got like out an hour into uh weapons i was like you know this this really
56:09feels like a stephen king movie like stephen king adaptation which and then i was like oh man osgood
56:13perkins really really he did a shiny or not a shining uh king interpretation it's ass and it was that
56:21was in the worst again i know you you dug it a little more than me but like that was in the worst
56:25yeah no i had fun with it but like it's not like you know weapons i'm gonna go and tell my friends to
56:31go see it the monkey i was like if friends asked if it was good i'd be like yeah go see it it's
56:35pretty fun uh this one it's like i'm gonna get out and be like no you need to go see this yeah that
56:40was a monkey and long legs not touching this he's got another one coming out this year yeah just
56:45fucking just keep giving him movies to me yeah we'll give him respect in that he's putting out
56:49he's working he's definitely working no one's doubting that uh but yeah so that is our list uh
56:54believe next week we have highest to lowest which should be fun so highest to lowest uh from our
57:01good old boy spike uh spike jones why is it spike jones holy shit no not from spike jones spike lee
57:06uh starring uh denzel washington jeffrey wright asap rocky and ice spice uh it should be an
57:13interesting one we can get uh every time i see a new trailer for it i get more and more pumped up
57:16for him i feel like it's been a hot minute since we saw spike lee movie what was the last one
57:20uh was it black klansman no no defy bloods i don't think so either uh spike lee's most recent
57:30movie defy bloods it is 2020 shit man that's crazy that was a really good movie i really enjoyed that
57:36too dude the fucking don't worry linda holy shit man he crushed that yeah he was that monologue was
57:40so good yeah uh but yeah excited to watch that and then i think we have some other things during that
57:45same period caught stealing's coming up there in oski uh butler movie we have nobody too we have
57:54americana we have night always comes with renessa kirby these are all movies i'm excited for eden
58:02excited for that one east of the east of wall i don't know what that one is under fire the witch
58:08or witch board and yeah but i think the it will be high as close is the one we'll be working so make
58:13sure to watch that and uh we'll get back in yeah if you can if you can find it i have to actually
58:17audible that one now that i think about it is it i don't know if it's going out outside of new york
58:22and la if it wasn't going to be that uh then it would probably be nobody too i would imagine which
58:28isn't the worst let's do it yeah i just don't know how what are we going to say about nobody too
58:33even if it's good uh i don't know i like nobody won i did like nobody nobody won but
