00:00Liverpool head into the new Premier League season with confidence high after an ambitious summer window,
00:09one designed to keep them at the summit as they defend their title.
00:13Arnie Slott's first summer in charge has been about adding quality and versatility to an already formidable squad.
00:20Among the standout arrivals is Jeremy Frimpong, whose attacking dynamism from wing-back could prove a key asset
00:27and potentially fill crucial gaps in the side set-up.
00:31With expectations soaring and rivals strengthening, the challengings will be integrating the new faces quickly
00:38while maintaining the relentless standards that delivered success last term.
00:43For further perspective on Liverpool's summer dealings, we spoke to Will Rooney of Liverpool World,
00:49who believes the recruitment has been impressive and that Frimpong in particular could become a vital figure
00:57in Slott's plans this season.
01:02Yeah, do you feel just it's a bit of a match made in heaven with Arnie Slott's hard-working side
01:07because he's up there with the top recovery stats across Europe as well.
01:13And the ground covered as well, I believe, in terms of attacking output players, attacking positions.
01:19He's covered the most ground in Europe last season in terms of miles per game, which is quite astonishing.
01:26So, do you feel they might have looked at that and thought, yeah, with Arnie Slott's side
01:30and the way he wants his players to work hard, relentlessly, off the ball as well,
01:36that it's just going to be a match made in heaven?
01:37Or do you feel there could also be a little bit of risk with this signing?
01:41We've seen players come over from the Bundesliga, the likes of Kai Havertz,
01:45who was incredibly touted to be an incredible player and he hasn't quite hit those heights in Germany that he did.
01:51Do you feel that there could be a bit of an element of risk as well in there?
01:55What's your thoughts on the signing?
01:58Yeah, another one that people know well is Naby Keita, who he paid a lot of money for and it didn't work out from the Bundesliga.
02:05But, as you say, Arnie Slott wouldn't be signing this player if he didn't think.
02:10Not only is he going to have a fantastic attacking output, I think 57 goals and 64 assists in nearly 200 games for Leverkusen,
02:20but he will do his fair share off the ball and he's quite clearly got both sides to his game.
02:29One's not compromised.
02:32Clearly, him putting a shift in off the ball is going to affect him going forward.
02:37So, that'll be a key one that Arnie Slott will look for when he's bringing him flowing away.
02:44It's because, as you say, you can't get by with luxury players anymore in football.
02:48I think those are the things that have passed.
02:50I mean, maybe, if he's a god, say, a Ryan Shearkey from Lyon, maybe he might be a little bit more attacking,
02:58maybe want to stay a little bit further forwards.
03:00And I think he can maybe forward that with one or two players.
03:03Obviously, his striker may be another attacker, but you can't with everyone.
03:07And if you're going to play a striker, say, Liverpool, do go and get one and you've got Mo Salah up there,
03:13then you need your other players to work hard.
03:16And I think that's what Wirtle will do.
03:18And obviously, someone Wirtz is very familiar with.
03:21Jeremy Frimpong, you know, being Arnie Slott's first signing.
03:24Now, him himself has said, you know, massive boost, I feel, in terms of Trent Alexander-Arnold's exit at right back.
03:30And he believes he's up to the case.
03:32He's obviously familiar with English football, being involved with Manchester City as well for all those years.
03:37I mean, it must be pleasing as well for Liverpool fans to get business done early in this window and really get going.
03:44Because, you know, these are statements of intent in terms of they want to make sure they're still back at the top.
03:50They're competing across all competitions next season and they're not just going to roll over to the likes of Manchester City,
03:56who have already spent, you know, a fair enough as well in the window.
03:59Yeah, it's funny enough, after the last game of the season, I asked Arne Slottberg if he'd like to get a signing in early.
04:06And he said ideally everyone would, but he just wants good players.
04:09And I think if maybe Liverpool had to wait for a couple of signings, you know, the likes of, say, Wertz was to sign a bit longer or Milos Kerk has,
04:19maybe they might have waited, but Liverpool clearly got a strong pitch.
04:25They don't really need to sell the club, do they?
04:27Being Premier League champions, centre-back will be a priority now.
04:32If Gerard wants to leave and talk about Mark Gahey, can Liverpool get the right price for him?
04:37Did he go and look at other options and then maybe a striker as well, depending on what Arne Slott fancies.
