00:00...change yung self-rated poverty o yung kahirapan from 42% in April to 45% in July.
00:08Food poverty medyo tumaas from 35% in April to 43%.
00:15Ang sinasabi nila na medyo naghihirap sila.
00:18Pero yung self-rated hunger o yung sinasabing gutom sila,
00:21it's still stable pero Mindanao had self-rated hunger dropping by 19 percentage points.
00:30Bisa bin, bumaba yung mga nagsabi sa Mindanao na sila ay gutom, self-rated hunger.
00:36So, comment lang po kong kasi of course,
00:39isa sa mga priorities ng House of Representatives is to resolve the crisis in food, hunger.
00:45Okay, this is a worldwide problem.
00:48Hunger is a worldwide problem.
00:51May mga problema in terms of how we will continue to produce enough food for humanity.
00:57Okay?
00:58So, the Philippines is not an exception.
01:00We are a little more fortunate than the others because we have good natural resources.
01:05We have a strong agricultural tradition in our country.
01:09And people actually have a high level of working together.
01:13So, it's a real problem. It will be always a problem.
01:17But, dito sa atin ngayon, the efforts are being focused through the Department of Agriculture,
01:23which is being tasked with increasing production in places that production is deep already.
01:29The new rice production act has been constantly deeping over the years.
01:33The number of farmers in the country has been constantly reducing.
01:36And all of this kasi, you know, modernization has brought about opportunities for people
01:41that belong in the rural areas and they are able to get better income,
01:45better opportunity, and a better future, actually, through education and through many things else.
01:51Kaya lang, it's good that right now, the administration is refocusing on the need to
01:55constantly assure the people of a food supply.
01:59And then, nakikita nyo naman, maraming bangga-banggaan dyan sa mga policy
02:02on whether you tax rice or you don't tax rice, you import rice or you don't import rice.
02:08We are the biggest rice importer in the world.
02:10Kaya, kasi tayo na, puro kumakayan ng tanin eh.
02:13So, that's why it has become the focal point of this battle against hunger.
02:19But, it should not stop there kasi there are other things that we need to do and focus on
02:24in order to solve, not just the hunger problem, but the nutrition issues that our country faces.
02:30Kasi, may kinalaman din yan sa future ng ating kabataan.
02:34Whether they're going to have a brighter future, be positive, better nutrition or not.
02:39So, alam ko that there are efforts in the Department of Education
02:42headed towards this and the Department of Agriculture.
02:45Kami dito sa Pamara, all we can do is upload and cheer the good boobs
02:50and try to go against the bad boobs.
02:52So, ang gagawin namin diyan is setre, we are going to question the Department of Agriculture
02:58on what their plans are to reply and answer to this.
03:01We will look also into the Department of Health and see what kind of nutrition measures
03:05they want to put into place to make our next generation a healthier one.
03:10So, that's one of the biggest challenges.
03:13Now, if you're a legislator, it's challenging, it's interesting, and it's actually inspiring.
03:19Kasi, you know, you start talking about the future, you talk about the welfare of everybody
03:24instead of the definition of fourth week.
03:28Okay.
03:29That's it.
03:30Thank you, Kong.
