Kourtney Kardashian Responds to Boating Safety Controversy

Kourtney Kardashian Barker is learning from her mistakes — and this time, it’s about boating safety.

On Friday, August 8, the Lemme founder shared a sweet Instagram photo of her 21-month-old son, Rocky Thirteen, enjoying a boat ride. But fans quickly noticed something alarming — Rocky wasn’t wearing a life vest.

The backlash was swift. In Idaho, where Kourtney appeared to be, state law requires all children 14 and under to wear a life jacket while on the water. Comments poured in, with fans urging her to prioritize Rocky’s safety. One person wrote, “Great photo… except your child has no life jacket on. PLEASE.”

By the next day, Kourtney addressed the controversy in her Instagram Stories, posting a screenshot of an infant life vest and writing, “Update: bought a life vest that fits! Good looking out. Honestly didn’t think about some of the dangers. Thank you for making me aware — hopefully this helps other mommies too.”

Despite the drama, Kourtney also reshared the original photo that same day to highlight World Breastfeeding Week, calling herself “blessed and grateful” for the experience with her baby boy.

Kourtney and husband Travis Barker welcomed Rocky in November 2023. She’s also mom to Mason, 15, Penelope, 13, and Reign, 10, with ex Scott Disick.
