00:25There has been no master plan in terms of the Ice Age film.
00:28You take each one as its own story.
00:31But they all root back to the same thing.
00:33They're all really about the core herd, and they all have a lot of heart.
00:37And this one reaches back to the first movie in a gag,
00:40where as the guys were kind of walking through a little frozen ice museum,
00:44there was a UFO encased in ice.
00:47And so Lori Forte, our producer, said,
00:50you know, we should really do something with that joke.
00:52Maybe there's like a bigger story we can tell.
00:54And it just kind of went from there and became this huge, fantastic adventure
01:00where the Scrat takes it out into the cosmos and causes huge problems for the Earth.
01:05We are really getting away in this movie from just ice and snow.
01:22We've got a whole palette in, you know, taking the Scrat into the cosmos in this movie.
01:27So that's the big new world for him.
01:31And then we have this great, colorful world of Geotopia
01:34with all new characters and inhabitants of that world.
01:37And so we're doing a lot of different things with this movie.
01:39But at the core of the movie, we still have our characters' emotional stories
01:44and personal stories set against the backdrop of a much bigger idea.
01:47You're the wind beneath my flea, the algae of my eye.
01:51I'm getting butterflies.
01:53I'm getting nauseous.
01:55The entire history of the franchise, he's never found a true love.
01:58He's never, you know, gotten a girlfriend.
02:00And so she's going to be the first girlfriend that Sid's ever going to get.
02:03And of course, she's perfect.
02:05She's like beyond what Sid could really get.
02:08But except she loves him for all that he is, all his goofiness.
02:11You know, he's a little disgusting in this, but she loves everything about him.
02:15And so it really is true love for both of them.
02:18And in that way, you know, having worked with Sid as an animator,
02:21it's really satisfying and gratifying to finally see one of the good guys win.
02:25Because he's such a good guy, he's got a good heart.
02:27And like, yes, you know, he finally gets one.
02:29That's great. I'm really happy for him.
02:41And Scred, he's this troublemaker.
02:43Everything he touches gets destroyed.
02:45Is there a possibility that we will ever see him do something right?
02:49Do something clever?
02:50Maybe even save the day?
02:52Hmm. You know, we've thought of that, but it doesn't feel like it's in his character.
02:57But you know what? You never know.
02:59We don't know. We really don't know what he's got up his sleeve.
03:02But it's very possible that maybe one day he will do something right.
03:05It might go against his character to do that.
03:08So it would have to be the right, very right thing.
03:11No, the Scrad can never win.
03:13That's what's fun about him is like, is watching him try.
03:16It's, you know, he's sort of, I think, the everyman.
03:19Everyone can relate to him.
03:21But he will always persevere. He will always try.

03:24That's the best part about him. He won't give up.
03:26I mean, it's probably hard to say right now, but there is a fifth movie.
03:29Could there be a sixth and seventh?

03:34And I think the audience, you know, if the audience is interested,

03:40I think that's very possible that there could be more.
