00:12I just had a quick question about pitching because you both are so good at pitching and
00:16your rhythm and timing. Did that also just come with time?
00:20It comes with time. The biggest tip I would say is don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself.
00:24Have fun. Do the stupid voice. Make funny acting. Do funny drawings.
00:28I mean, look at Josh's scrap drawings. It looks nothing like real scrap, but it's hilarious.
00:34It's like he's not trying to draw a perfect render of scrap and neither am I when I do boards.
00:38I'm like, look, this is my cartoon version of it. You've got one drawing to express an emotion, maybe two
00:42drawings.
00:43And so push it really far. If you've ever done acting on camera or recorded your voice for dialogue or
00:48acting.
00:49And if you ever listen back, you go, why do I sound like a robot?
00:52Oh, I thought I was being really emotional. And it's like, no, I thought I had a lot of like
00:56dynamics in my voice.
00:57And then you hear back. You're like, nope. And it's kind of like that with pitching, too.
01:00Sometimes just go over making funny sound effects, making funny voices.
01:04It's like you're telling a story to a kid, a bedtime story. Right.
01:07And you want to be like the evil monster came out.
01:11If anything, think of it as you're up on stage entertaining a crowd.
01:14You can feel the energy in the room. And if you can build that energy,
01:17it's just going to push your ideas and stuff that you're presenting even further down the road.
01:22If you fall in the face, at least you can pat yourself on the back going, you gave it your
01:25best shot.
01:26If you don't really act in and don't put yourself into the pitch, then you're going back to your desk
01:31and like,
01:31well, maybe I didn't pitch that thing as good as I could have to make them see why it's funny.
01:35You know, and now you're getting notes, but I don't know if it's actually the right note.
01:38Because maybe I didn't pitch it as good as I could have.
01:40Yeah. The more you can sell the ideas, the better off it is.
01:43You're a salesman, honestly, as a board artist, like you're selling your ideas.
01:46A hundred percent.
01:47And you want people to buy in.
01:49Yeah, that's a good way to put it. You're literally a salesperson.
01:52You're selling your ideas.
