00:00Now when it comes to southern wedding showers, we have talked about all the necessary menu items.
00:04There's one we're leaving out.
00:06Petaphors.
00:07So because of that, I decided I was going to try my hand at making some petaphors.
00:11Well let me tell you what.
00:12I am not going to be becoming the petaphore lady in my town.
00:15These were a labor of love that I hope I never have to do again.
00:19Put me in charge of the butter mints for any shower.
00:21I'll do a lot of other things.
00:23Petaphors?
00:23I don't think I want to touch them with a 10 foot pole.
00:26Just like cheese straws.
00:27I would highly suggest if this is your first foray into the petaphore world, do what I did and run to Publix and get yourself the unfrosted cake layers.
00:36Game changer.
00:37You're going to save half the time.
00:38It's hot out here.
00:39We're in the heat of summer.
00:41The glaze is not cooling to the temperature that it needs to be cooling.
00:44If you have a petaphore lady, next time you order some petaphores, thank her more than you typically would.
00:50Give her a real good tip.
00:51It is not a petaphore without some kind of design on the top.
00:54Despite the sticky mess that was everywhere, I'm pretty proud about how these turned out.
00:59Classic, nostalgic.
01:01It's not a southern shower without a petaphore.
01:03Just be sure you're not the one that's in charge of having to make them.
