00:00Baggies fans, it has been a while, but I'm back here, this familiar background, at the Albion training ground in Walsall.
00:09I haven't been here since the start of May, or possibly even late April actually, the end of last championship season,
00:14but the sun is still shining, so that's good.
00:16We've just actually finished up at Ryan Mason's first press conference of the new season,
00:21his first pre-match press conference, it's Friday afternoon, it's 24 hours until the big kick-off at the Hawthorns at home to Blackburn Rovers.
00:28I think it's fair to say it couldn't come soon enough for Albion's new head coach, and I think probably the players,
00:33and I know supporters out there feel the same, you know, it's been a long off-season hasn't it?
00:37The start of May the season finished, and what's that, more than three months later now we've had to wait for the real stuff to get around.
00:44But yeah, it all begins tomorrow, and I chatted with Ryan Mason this afternoon.
00:49One big topic really is obviously the breaking news we had this morning in relation to Karl Bartley,
00:56Ryan Mason's long-serving player, longest-serving player, vice-captain,
00:5934-year-old calling retirement on his playing career and leaving the club, obviously.
01:05Now, I've got another video I've filmed, you can read some more sort of in-depth thoughts on that.
01:10Obviously, Ryan Mason's answered plenty of questions on it.
01:12But just moving away from that, I suppose, you know, questions on availability and injuries and stuff like that,
01:19the usual kind of match-related stuff, positive on the Josh Madra front.
01:24He's been one sort of question mark, hasn't he, throughout summer, obviously, on his way back from a long injury.
01:30Missed the friendly, the last friendly, last weekend against Falacano at the Hawthorns, which was a concern, wasn't it?
01:35But Ryan Mason told me he didn't think it was too serious.
01:39And also, he was pictured in training at Albion's base yesterday on Thursday.
01:45So, you know, sort of felt positive about that.
01:47And Ryan Mason's backed that up. Look, you know, he's been out a long time.
01:51He has trained, but that doesn't mean, you know, he's ready to come in and start yet, by any means.
01:56But he will be available and in contention.
01:58And likewise, Diakite, the midfielder, who's had a small minor knock.
02:01And Torbjorn Heggen, obviously, is the sort of main transfer speculation point at the moment, isn't he?
02:08Albion's Norwegian defender's been linked with that move away to Bologna.
02:12But he's, you know, he's here, he's at the club, he's trained and he's in contention and available to feature in the opener tomorrow.
02:17And I expect he will, you know, despite the speculation of him moving to Italy, which I suspect will sort of ramp up as the summer goes, as August goes on.
02:26We get towards the deadline, but I imagine he'll feature.
02:28And yeah, those were the sort of newsy bits, as I mentioned, you know, the Karl Bartley situation I'll speak about and spoken about in another video,
02:35just in terms of how that affects the dynamic around the place, really, the transfer business left to do.
02:41In terms of tomorrow, you know, we'll be at the Hawthorns, obviously bringing you all the coverage and reaction and whatnot from the game against Valerian Ishmael's Blackburn,
02:50the former Albion manager, coming back to the Hawthorns, what, some three and a half years after his departure.
02:57Obviously moved here, what, four summers ago. A lot of change since, as we know, and he's had a few clubs since, but comes back with Blackburn.
03:05It's a home opener for Albion. It's a home opener, home startup for Ryan Mason.
03:10Big one, isn't it, to get off on the right footing, you know, new era, new sort of person at the helm.
03:15You want a positive start, you want a bright start. It doesn't all hinge on it, of course, but that's what you want.
03:20For all the coverage, the pre-match build-up and, of course, the match coverage and post-match ticket at expressionstar.com.
03:27In these charities in charge of Marcelino, you look at the community Commeríamos.
03:31Al hi, a lot of channels for those contexts.
03:35But come across to thativo number of departments there, they mess with us and will be one of the extenships necessary.
03:38For all the funding sectors, people ask people to participate, tend to be the same stage and surprise fund,
03:41which is an annual area in general, where we have large ні구 mood, like Holy marginalС Quite Am phone.
03:45I love talking about the major Lei now and the focus on September 10th May 5th May 6th May that then,
03:48for all the takest nations indicating the illustration speed, number 10th May 9th May 6th May 25th May 7th May 7th May 7th May 1850,
03:51All the next slide says the problem is that, so this person from 8th May 15th May 6th May 4th May 1.
