00:00To hear my mum's voice for the first time in seven months, we both got a bit emotional.
00:07You know, I said hello and she said hello back and I think that was enough to get her going.
00:13Lindsay and Craig Foreman were on a global motorcycle journey.
00:16Their route took them from Spain through Europe and into Iran, where they had five days of travel planned.
00:21Entering the country on the 31st of December 2024, their final stop was expected to be Kerman on the 4th of January of this year,
00:29before moving on to Australia. Their family last heard from them on social media on 3rd of January.
00:35Now, after seven months, the family have finally gotten to speak to one another once again.
00:40I tried to take up the reins a little bit and as I say, you have stuff planned that you want to say,
00:45but, you know, what came out was how much I love her and how much we all love her and miss her.
00:53You know, just for her to be reassured that we are fighting every single day to get them both back as soon as possible
00:59and it was the first time that we really had explicit proof of life.
01:04The family were given notice ahead of the call. However, this was not the first time.
01:08Twice before they were told they would receive calls from Lindsay and Craig,
01:12but this was the first time that promise was delivered.
01:15Now, we don't explicitly know why those calls weren't facilitated or we know that they didn't happen in the end
01:21and that, you know, it was not of the Foreign Office's doing, clearly, which I don't expect it ever would be,
01:31but that's all they could tell us, really.
01:33The call happened following the news revealed on Monday of Craig and Lindsay being separated.
01:38But we also need to have the urgency that the reality that they're in
01:42is by far worse than any of us can ever imagine.
01:48You know, as I say, the only form of accounts that we've got is from former detainees
01:52and their story is harrowing.
01:55So we've got to be aware of that.
01:56We need to be addressing this very, very seriously.
01:58They have been incarcerated for seven months and that is continuing to grow by the day.
02:04According to the family, Craig and Lindsay had everything in order prior to traveling.
02:08Valid visas, a license guide and a pre-approved itinerary.
02:11However, the Foreign Office does currently advise against all travel to Iran,
02:15saying British nationals are at a significant risk of arrest, questioning, or detention.
02:21Having a British passport or any connection to the UK is reason enough to be detained.
02:26Ronnie Glastol for KMTV.
