Transcript
00:00Mr. Secretary, Robin Kemp from The Currents.
00:02Hi.
00:03Will there be any efforts by the DOD to harden the entrances to installations,
00:09to look for things like personal weapons coming in and out of base?
00:13We are constantly looking at our security protocols on all of our bases,
00:17both in CODIS and around the world.
00:19We absolutely will want to learn from this investigation.
00:23We do not want something like this to ever happen again on an Army base.
00:27And so, if there are things we can do to improve safety, we will take those steps.
00:32But right now, we're really early in investigation.
00:35Mr. Secretary, thank you for being here with BBC News.
00:39Thanks for being here.
00:40How did the suspect get a gun, his personal gun,
00:43pass security onto the base in Tinsley Police?
00:47As I just remarked to your colleague, we are still early in the investigation.
00:51The shooting happened yesterday.
00:53CID, I can have him come up and tell you what we've learned so far.
00:57Our commitment is what we learned will be disclosed.
00:59It will be transparent.
01:01Justice will be brought on behalf of these victims in the community that was armed.
01:05Good morning.
01:07As Secretary mentioned, this is still an active investigation.
01:11We're still processing the scene with all the resources and capabilities
01:15that the Army's Criminal Investigation Division has to offer,
01:19which is an offense to absurd people in this entire region.
01:23In light of the fact that we're still processing,
01:26and I'm going to have to defer to that question for now.
01:29Is it normal to have a personal gun release here?
01:32No, that would be a violation.
01:34No.
01:35That would be a violation.
01:37That would be a violation.
01:38That would be.
