00:00Two other quick issues to deal with. One is the migrant, the one-in, one-out, which I know
00:05all these things come across the desk of the Prime Minister regularly, but today there's
00:08been talk of the fact that countries like France will have a veto. If you're under 18,
00:13you can be exempt. If you've got a current claim from the human rights course, you'd
00:18be exempt to that. Is that plan already scuppered before it's really begun?
00:21No, not at all. And successive governments have tried to get a scheme like this off the
00:25ground. We've built good relations with France and we've got the scheme up and
00:31running. The most important thing is that it's a deterrent because it says to people
00:37if you make that journey by boat, you may well be returned to France back to where
00:42you started. That is hugely important. Obviously, it's a pilot at the moment. We
00:49need to see how it works. But I'm really pleased that we've struck this deal. I
00:54think it will send a very strong message and we can build on this as we go forward. But
00:58there's a reason why successive governments have been trying to get this to work and that's
01:02because it could be very effective.
