00:00Welcome to the Collington Tunnel. It's 161 meters long, opened way back in 1889 and closed 101 years
00:13later. But the construction is quite ornate for quite a small tunnel. Over half a million bricks
00:21manufactured just a few kilometers away in Bredbo were used in the construction of this tunnel.
00:26Walking along the old rail track here you find all sorts of objects. We've found a chunk of coal,
00:36no doubt from the steam train days, and just here near the entrance to the tunnel
00:40an old shovel. Who knows how long that's been here.
00:49It might be a disused tunnel but there are still signs that there are creatures living in here.
00:56Like many railway tunnels there is a spooky story relating to this one. It dates back to the 1890s
01:17when apparently a man was riding his horse through here in the middle of the night. They got stuck,
01:23just as the train came through both the man and the horse were killed instantly. It's possibly
01:30folklore because I can't find any record of this in any local newspapers. However,
01:36some locals say if you venture up here in the middle of the night you might encounter his ghost.
01:42Lucky it's daytime. I'm getting out of here.
01:57If you've got 2.4-5 hour hours.
02:05But it's not morning.
02:09So if you are ready to go to this hotel,
02:10you're ready to go to this hotel.
02:10Yeah, so there's a little bit of some of these things where people are getting out.
02:12So we're going to go to this hotel,
02:13you're gonna be just a hotel.
02:14You are ready to go to the hotel?
02:15Yeah, you are ready to go to hotel.
02:17So I'm getting out of here and, you know,
02:18you kind of go to hotel.
02:19You've got to be here and you're in with them.
02:20I'm going to go to hotel.
02:21I'm going to be here for you,
02:23so let's have to go to hotel.
