00:00Roy Barkley was a deceitful and violent man who lived off-grid in solitude.
00:05Three days after the attack, he left Anita's phone in Ipswich,
00:09enabling it to fall into the hands of others.
00:12Whilst causing a distraction and diverting significant resources,
00:17this ultimately led to his downfall with further CCTV being obtained,
00:21capturing his actions.
00:23Our thoughts remain with Anita's partner, children and grandchildren
00:28who have endured an unimaginable year
00:31and have been forced to sit through weeks of painful evidence at trial.
00:35I hope today's sentencing brings a measure of justice to them all.
