00:49I doubt you'll remember anything of the Ocean Pioneer, though a bit of the story that came to public knowledge made headlines in the newspapers at the time.
01:13Blimey, now that I think of it, it's been over 40 years ago, it happened.
01:1840 years, and at times yet I can still wake up in the middle of the night and see that cold, dead eye of Jimmy Goggles staring at me from the darkness.
01:32They had to give me the creeps even now.
01:35It all started the night the Ocean Pioneer went to the bottom of the Sonner Coast.
01:41Only two survivors, aside from myself, came out of that wreck.
01:44Mr. Sanders, the first mate, and a seaman named Jacob.
01:49And with a bit of luck, we had enough food and water in the longboat to see us safe to Papua.

04:14We'd wonder how long it'd be before we'd get there.
04:17But the salvage ship might be fined
04:19in a hundred miles away from the wreck.
04:22And all the time acting like we hadn't the care in the world.
04:27And that confounded diving suit
04:29would sway back and forth
04:32like a regular human being it would.
04:34And a glass window in the front
04:36staring like a big eye in the middle of its fat copperhead.
04:42We got shows we'd talk to it like it was somebody.
04:45We even give it a name.

04:51And every time we'd break open some rum,
04:53we'd pour a glass or so into Jimmy Goggles.
04:56So by the time we got to Sonner,
04:58instead of smelling rubbery,
04:59his insides was as sweet as a casker rum.

05:13where the wreck was lying.
