00:00Hello and welcome to this Jane's Weather Update. This is for Western Australia updated on Wednesday.
00:06We have a band of cloud that is coming in across the northwest. Now this one has a lot of moisture
00:11that is coming in from the Indian Ocean. However, this is heading over to Queensland and northern
00:16New South Wales. We're not going to see that here in the southwest. Instead, the latest cold front
00:21moving across the southeast, high pressure over the Bight that is moving across to the east as
00:25the next weather system comes across the southwest, mainly over the weekend. So let's have a look at
00:31what we have out there today. There's that cloud in the north producing a little bit of rain where
00:35we have radars that are very sparse across the interior there. We just have a little bit of
00:39leftover cloud. There's not much happening out there today. As we head into the weekend, that will
00:44change. All right, having a look at day by day. So you'll see in the bottom corner here what the day
00:49is by Thursday. High pressure over the Bight. We've got northerly winds, so conditions warm up. The next
00:55wet weather system has not reached the coast yet. So that's on Thursday. As we go into Friday,
01:01we do start to see that change. A feed of moisture coming in from the northwest around Carnarvon. We've
01:05also got this coming into the southwest. But this isn't the main event, even though 5 to 10, maybe 10
01:11to 15 millimeters, 5 to 10 up in through here. So just heading inland. But that's kind of the warm up
01:17before the big thing arrives on Saturday into Sunday. So let's have a look at that. We've got our feed of
01:22moisture coming in through here. And here's our next wet weather system. By the end of Saturday,
01:27we've got that coming down in through these parts here. So the front itself is still just offshore.
01:35That's going to come through as we move into Sunday. But having a look at our falls, particularly
01:39south of Perth here, 25 to 50 millimeters is possible. In through here, 15 to 25 and grading downwards
01:45as you head further inland. Let's watch that come in as we move into Sunday. So still seeing some wet weather
01:52here. But all of that spreading right on through, even all the way into Kalgoorlie, getting 5 to 10
01:58millimeters as this comes in, thanks to that feed of moisture as it crosses. As we go into next week,
02:04that's when high pressure moves in. On Monday, zooming through already here by the end of the day.
02:08So this is a clearing trend that is heading eastwards. Now having a look at Tuesday, the next one starting
02:14to build to the west. On Wednesday, that is when that starts to arrive in the southwest, coming through
02:19really next Thursday. Okay, so let's look at that in terms of totals. We had that big band of moisture
02:25coming across. Queensland is where that is going to end up with some serious falls along the coastline there
02:30and into northern New South Wales. Here's our feature that's coming through mainly. So this is to the end of
02:35Wednesday. So it doesn't include the Thursday. This is mainly late Friday into Saturday and into Sunday as that
02:41comes through. So 25 to 50 millimeters for a large area there. Very typical at this time of year as these cold
02:48fronts move through. So let's unpack that for Perth. So here we have all of that sunshine today.
02:53It is warmer with a top of 20, 21 as we're going to tomorrow. A bit of clouds starting to build.
02:58But the wet weather days, Friday, 6 millimeters, 19 on Saturday, 11 as we go into Sunday, then just the
03:04dribs and drabs left by next Monday. So this is the main event in through here. Rain at times Friday,
03:10light rain at times, then increasing to rain so it gets wetter as Saturday goes on.
03:14Showers likely, then possible showers so it eases as Sunday goes on. Let's unpack that by zooming into
03:21Friday. Here's our top of 19. We're clear for the start of it. Then we start to get that wet weather
03:26coming in. It's really a nighttime event as we go in through Friday. Let's have a look at Saturday.
03:32We've got light rain at times into the early hours of the morning. Hit and miss showers as they move
03:36through. That's that possible showers then increasing as that next cold front comes up. That is a wet Saturday
03:42night as we move through. Then into Sunday, again, an easing trend. So showers likely,
03:47then possible showers, but by 10 a.m. hardly anything left. Just the odd little bit coming
03:52through possible there during the afternoon. Instead, lots of sunshine. As always, keep up
03:56to date at Farm Online Weather. I'll see you soon.
