00:00Hello and welcome to this Jane's Weather update. This is for Queensland and updated on Wednesday.
00:06Today there is a large area of moisture that is coming in from the northwest.
00:10In from the Indian Ocean forming a cloud band that comes across here.
00:14This is headed our way. A cold front is crossing the southeast and there's a large ridge of high pressure in behind it.
00:20So let's have a look at what that is going to do.
00:23Today not much. We've got a little bit of that cloud coming in from the southwest
00:26but all of the action is still well back over to our west. It's still a building developing situation.
00:32Otherwise there's a fair bit of sunshine and we have some nice warm temperatures to go with that as well.
00:36Let's have a look at the forecast as we go into Thursday.
00:40So here we have the rain building over the interior here and just starting to come into the west later on.
00:46That's for Thursday. Let's have a look at Friday.
00:48It starts to jump up over Queensland and northern parts of New South Wales 15 to 25 millimeters during the day.
00:54Maybe even some heavier falls in through here.
00:57So all coming in through here. Not in the north.
01:00This is mainly a central to southern Queensland thing.
01:03That's during the day on Friday. Let's have a look at really develop on Saturday.
01:07What we're seeing is low pressure develop off the coast here.
01:10We've got moisture from the Indian Ocean but also the Pacific Ocean.
01:13So they're colliding over us and that should produce some fairly significant falls.
01:18particularly here along the coast anywhere between Brisbane and sort of just up in through here.
01:23Mackay would be the heaviest that it would go further north.
01:26But it's really on the coastline there.
01:28Now I'm going to show you a couple of different weather models.
01:31So the guidance that builds this.
01:33This is our AI forecast.
01:34Excuse me.
01:35But here we have another model.
01:37It's called Jem.
01:37It's from Canada.
01:38This one's got some really big falls that are off the coast there.
01:41Having a look here at Access, which is from Australia, that has the falls off the coast.
01:46None of the heavy things in through here.
01:48This here is the Euro model.
01:49That does certainly have some falls hitting the coast.
01:52We'll zoom right in to see where that is.
01:54So in between Bundaberg and Gladstone is where we're seeing the heavier falls, maybe up to Rocky as well.
01:59One more model is the GFS, the USA model.
02:02That has most of it off the coast but still the threat of some significant falls as it comes through.
02:07And also coming all the way inland to about Charleville to Barclayne.
02:11So there is the potential for some significant rain as we go through Saturday.
02:15Let's zoom back out again and we'll watch this in action as we go into Sunday.
02:20So let's move back over to our AI forecast.
02:23By Sunday, conditions are easing.
02:25We've got all of this moving through out to the east, so there's hardly anything left.
02:29And then heading into Monday, hardly anything left.
02:31It's just a coastal thing by then.
02:34Having a look at the totals.
02:35This is the overall from the AI model.
02:37It doesn't include the extremes from those individual models.
02:42And this here has got 75 to 100, maybe even 100 to 150.
02:46So it's this area here that's seeing the most.
02:48We have the heaviest falls across the continent.
02:51Also into year 15 to 25, 25 to 50.
02:54There's some wet weather coming into the west.
02:56But the southeast is taking a break before a system comes through Tuesday, Wednesday into next week.
03:01Alrighty, so let's zoom into Brisbane and have a look.
03:03We've got the lovely sunshine today.
03:05Cooler temperatures as it goes into Thursday.
03:08We've got some wet weather coming in on Friday.
03:10So let's zoom into that in a sec.
03:12Light rain at times and possible showers.
03:13Possible showers are going to Sunday and then again into Monday.
03:17The totals here, it's outside that severe area.
03:20So they're not as huge as they could be further north.
03:22But we'll be brushing the edge of that wet weather.
03:25So let's move into Friday.
03:26Light rain at times.
03:27Let's see which hours of the day.
03:29That is likely all hours of the day coming through.
03:32They clear up in the middle of the afternoon.
03:34So that's during the day on Friday.
03:36Let's now have a look at Saturday.
03:38Light rain at times and some possible showers in through there.
03:41Top of about 17.
03:42So we're going to feel it in terms of the cooler air coming in.
03:45So that continues all through the day.
03:47And then possible showers again on Sunday.
03:49That's the latest from me here.
03:51Stay up to date at Farm Online Weather.
03:53I'll see you soon.
