00:03The Bradford-based supermarket chain Morrisons has revealed that it returned to profit in its last financial year,
00:10according to accounts filed at Companies House.
00:14The accounts represent the 52 weeks end of the 27th October 2024,
00:19and the comparative period for the 52 weeks end of the 29th October 2023.
00:24In the accounts, it's revealed that profit before tax for the period was £2.1 billion,
00:31compared to the loss of £919 million the previous year.
00:36Morrisons says it understands the importance of the tax contributions it makes
00:39and takes its responsibilities towards the communities in which it operates
00:43and towards its colleagues, customers and suppliers seriously.
00:47It recently announced some planned job cuts as part of changes to the business.
