00:00Parts of New South Wales were blanketed in unusually heavy snowfall as locals around the

00:05state braised for severe weather over the first weekend in August 2025. SES crews in Armadale and

00:12Surrounds described the snowfall as being at depths never seen before. Residents of the regional

00:19city were told to avoid travelling and to stay near shelter for the duration of the weather event.

00:24Meanwhile, in the New South Wales Hunter region, heavy rainfall caused flooding as major roads were

00:31forced to close. Emergency services were called to Rothbury near Cessnock after 7.50pm on Saturday,

00:38August 2nd, 2025, where they found a small car trapped in flood water. The 27-year-old driver

00:45and a 26-year-old passenger, both reported to be Chinese nationals visiting the area on working

00:51visas, attempted to exit the bogged vehicle, but the 26-year-old woman was swept away by the flood

00:57waters. The 27-year-old was able to resurface and managed to save her dog as well. A search for the

01:05missing car and the missing passenger continued at first light on Monday, August 4th, 2025.
