00:26as they learn how greed can ruin a friendship.
00:30Clem, where's Theo?
00:35He's in town working on some deal.
00:37Doesn't he know I'm on my deathbed?
00:39Yeah, but he said this is more important.
00:41He asked if you could wait.
00:43Deathbed?
00:44Sorry, Clem, but I can't.
00:46Before I go, I want to warn you.
00:50I've been a very wealthy man,
00:53and now I'm leaving all I have to you boys.
00:56Use it wisely.
00:57Always be generous with your money, your time, and your love.
01:03I will, Dad.
01:06And beware of every kind of greed,
01:08because no matter how rich or poor you are,
01:11the importance of your life has nothing to do with that.
01:16Greed can destroy your reputation and your life.
01:19Can't we just have a little piece, Eggbert?
01:23Please, Eggbert?
01:25Ha, forget it.
01:26Get your own.
01:28Eggbert, didn't you hear?
01:30Greed can destroy your reputation and your life.
01:33Yeah.
01:34It can.
01:36Oh, as I was saying,
01:38there's lots here for everybody.
01:40Help yourselves.
01:41Happy people come together, let your life shine.
01:48Sharing love with one another, let your life shine.
01:51Let no difference grow between your life shine.
01:55Let his spirit grow between your life shine.
01:58Let it shine, chan dev.
02:01Come on and listen to me, John.
02:03Let it shine, chan dev.
02:04Oh, thanks, Eggbird. That was good.
02:26It was deliciously scrumptious.
02:28Sure.
02:30The pain.
02:32My chocolate bar is all good.
02:34Just like inflation.
02:36Eggbird, it will come back to you.
02:39When you share with others, you get much more back in return.
02:42Oh, I hope you're right.
02:46Wait for it.
02:47I'm waiting.
02:48I'm going to eat it.
02:50Maybe if you don't want to.
02:52Maybe if you don't want to.
02:53Maybe if you don't want to.
02:54Maybe if you don't want to.
02:56Some people take what they can, as fast as they can, as much as they can.
03:10Number one they must be, their philosophy is what's in it for me.
03:16Just a little bit more.
03:18I want to get a little bit more.
03:22I'm going to get a little bit more.
03:26But they get more and more and more and more and more and still want more.
03:32What's a great tragedy that we can't all see?
03:44The world's poverty.
03:47Maybe then we would be a little less greedy and a little more free.
03:53Just a little bit more, try loving the world.
03:57A little bit more, try giving the world.
04:00A little bit more, a little more and more and more and more and more and more.
04:06And still want more, a little bit more, try loving the world.
04:12A little bit more, try giving the world.
04:16A little bit more, try loving the world.
04:19A little bit more
04:21Try giving the words
04:23A little bit more
04:25A little more and more and more and more and more
04:29And still have more
04:39So Aaron, how about sharing your cake?
04:43No way!
04:45Come on, I'm gonna eat it!
04:47Okay, let's go talk to Dirk about it!
04:49Look at him! I can't believe it!
04:51He's going to eat the whole thing!
04:53So give me the words
04:55A little bit more
04:57A little more and more and more and more and more
05:01And still have more
05:03Come on, babe, give me a little sip!
05:05You've got two straws!
05:07Look, look, look!
05:09You're just being greedy!
05:11No!
05:13He's not the only one!
05:15Hi, girls!
05:17Hi, dear!
05:19Hello!
05:21What's this I hear about someone being greedy?
05:23It's Aaron, that little pig!
05:25Now hold on before you say anything like that!
05:27Well, it's true!
05:29He won a big chocolate cake in a draw at school!
05:31And he says he's going to eat the whole thing by himself!
05:33Why, that little pig!
05:35He's just being greedy and he's losing all his friends!
05:37Well, now, that's what greed does!
05:39We've got to warn him about this!
05:41And I've got just the thing!
05:43You give him this mug, and I know that you're right!
05:45Right, I get it!
05:46You get the plan!
05:47Okay!
05:48Thanks, Dirk!
05:49We will!
05:50Thanks a lot, Dirk!
05:51Bye!
05:52Bye!
05:53Hey, Gorg!
05:54Um, am I still your friend?
05:55Uh-huh!
05:56Why, of course I am!
05:57Just don't be greedy!
05:58Uh-huh!
05:59Uh-huh!
06:00Well, Cheryl gets out more fun anyway, isn't it?
06:01Uh-huh!

06:21Uh, Erin, believe me, you're gonna feel a whole lot better about this after you share!
06:26I know!
06:27Mm-hmm!
06:28Look, I don't feel bad!
06:30I feel great!
06:31This cake is super!

06:47Ha-ha!
06:48Ha-ha!
06:49Let's see what starts making our kaleidoscopes!
06:50Ha-ha!
06:51Ha-ha!
06:53What a good idea!
06:54Take a little nothing. You can make something. What's it gonna be? You wait and see.
07:07With a little determination and a lot of imagination. What's it gonna be? You wait and see.
07:17Scott will tell you to take animals out of your house. Now you can have lots of animals in the house. She won't mind. Here's how, Sue.
07:29Alright Scott, today we're going to make slotted animals. What you'll need is heavy cardboard from grocery boxes or cardboard from shirts.
07:39And the first one we're going to make is a cat. The cat's body is cut out like this. You can draw on a face onto it.
07:47The legs are this shape. And there's a slit here and there's one here. And they fit together. Push it through.
07:55Now the tail looks like this. There's a little slit here and one on this side. And it goes through there. And our cat stands up.
08:07Now the second one we're going to do is a flying bird. Now the bird has three parts. Its main body, a tail on the end, and the wings.
08:19And the wings go through like this. Now these birds you can paint and then attach string to it and hang a few of them like a mobile in your room.
08:27And our last one is the most difficult. It has lots of parts to it. It's our dinosaur. Now the dinosaur has its main body shape.
08:36And two legs. And the legs parts are formed like that. And they're just a little bit difficult to get in.
08:45And then the scales down the back. And they're round pieces. And then a tail on the bottom. And there's our dinosaur.
08:55Thanks Sue. That was fun. Have fun making yours at home.
09:00Good craft, Scott.
09:08Hi. Hi.
09:10You missed a good craft.
09:12Well, we were taking care of business. Just a minute.
09:15Hi Aaron. How's the cake?
09:17Great. There's enough here to feed it on me.
09:20Oh, I'm so full.
09:22You mean you're going to share?
09:24No. I'll be hungry again pretty soon.
09:27Oh, Aaron. Here. Dirk sent this over for you to read.
09:30Oh, okay. As soon as I finish one more bite.
09:33Oh.
09:34Good.
09:35All righty. I need to eat some.
09:37I wonder what this could be about.
09:38Hmm.
09:39Once upon a time in the days of the wild, wild west,
09:42there lived an old man who was very wealthy. He had two sons.
09:47The oldest boy, Clem, was wise and generous.
10:06That's me!
10:09wealthy. He had two sons. The oldest boy, Clem, was wise and generous. That's me. Very much like
10:17his dad. While the younger son, Theo, was a real conniver and really quite greedy. Although he
10:26appeared to be generous. Who told you that? Never mind. I have ways of finding out. I know. As I was
10:37saying, Paul was very old and on his deathbed he called for his two sons. Boys, boys, where's my
10:46boys? I need my boys. Clem, where's Theo? He's in town working on some deal. Doesn't he
10:57know I'm on my deathbed? Yeah, but he said this is more important. He asked if you could
11:02wait. Sorry, Clem, but I can't. Before I go, I want to warn you. I've been a very wealthy
11:11man. And now I'm leaving all I have to you boys. Use it wisely. Always be generous with
11:20your money, your time, and your love. I will, Dad. And beware of every kind of greed, because
11:28no matter how rich or poor you are, the importance of your life has nothing to do with that. Greed
11:36can destroy your reputation and your life. I know, Dad. And about that brother. He's
11:44had a tendency to connive, and I think he's really quite greedy. Promise me you'll check
11:50up on him and warn him not to be greedy, or he'll ruin himself. Okay, Dad. I promise.
11:59And one more thing, Clem. Come here. And with that, the old man died. See you in heaven,
12:11Pa. Years passed. Clem was careful to do all that his father had told him, and even though
12:22his riches increased, he never let any kind of greed get in him. Then one day, he said,
12:29Well, it's time to check up on Theo like I promised Pa. But first, a disguise. The Lone Arranger.
12:37Whoa! Who is that masked man? It's me, Clem. Oh, yeah. I hold tinfoil.
12:46When he got to town, he found out he was already too late. Theo had really been up to his greedy,
12:56conniving tricks. Everyone was upset. Pardon me. I'm just passing through, but could you tell
13:03me who this Theo is? That's him right over there. The small one. He's just the meanest,
13:10most conniving, greedy man in the West. Oh, I see. And he's rich, too. He owns practically the
13:16whole town, except for the livery stable. That'll be his at any moment now. Why?
13:21Well, you see this shop over here? It used to be mine. Till one day, I couldn't pay the mortgage.
13:27So? So, nice old Theo comes along and generously offers to lend me the money.
13:33So, what's wrong with that? So, his loan lasted for 24 hours. The next day,
13:38he came back demanding his money on my shop. Of course, I didn't have the money, so he took my shop.
13:44That greedy rat. I'll say. He pulled the same check on everyone else in town.
13:49How much do you owe him? Two hundred dollars. Here.
13:55Thanks, but I don't even know your name. That's not important. Just call me the Lone Arranger.
14:01Oh, yeah? And what's the arrangement on this note? Promise never to be greedy. Thanks.
14:07The Lone Arranger had every shopkeeper in town paid off. Right.
14:15The only thing he asked them to do for the money was... I promise never to be greedy. Thanks.
14:22Thanks.
14:24Wow.
14:26Who is that master?
14:28I don't care.
14:30Finally, he came to the liquor store.
14:32You're so unreasonable.
14:34I am not... What's going on?
14:36How much do you owe him? Three hundred dollars. Here, I'll pay it.
14:40Thank you. Then each shopkeeper gave Theo the money they owed him. There you go, Theo.
14:44Here's your five hundred. What's going on?
14:46Your greed has cost you everything. You better leave the county and start over when nobody knows you.
14:52Where's that?
14:53Who knows by now, but I'm warning you, you don't be greedy anymore.
14:57And Theo left town with piles of money and no friends. His greed had destroyed him and his reputation.
15:04Oh, we got ourselves?
15:05Citizens!
15:06There he is. There he is.
15:08This warning is for you, too. Beware of any kind of greed.
15:12And remember, no matter how rich or poor you are, the value of your life has nothing to do with that.
15:17Adios!
15:18Bye!
15:19Bye!
15:20Bye!
15:21Bye!
15:22Bye!
15:23Bye!
15:24Bye!
15:25Who is that master's name?
15:27The Lone Arranger!
15:29Pardon me, Flynn. I hate to break the magic of this moment, but don't you think you've carried things a bit too far?
15:35You're not the Lone Arranger.
15:37Yeah, you're right. I guess I did carry it a bit too far. But I did my duty. Time to go home.
15:43Oh, Clem, before you go, what was it your pa whispered in your ear on his deathbed so many years ago?
15:49You know, he told me not to be greedy or it would ruin my life.
15:53No, not that. There was something else.
15:55Oh, yeah. He told me you left the hot water running in the bathtub. Gotta go.
16:00Being greedy can ruin your reputation. Oh, no! I hope it's not too late for me.
16:18Hey, everybody. I brought the mail in.
16:38All right!
16:39That's right.
16:40Oh, boy.
16:41This is my favorite time of the day, Egbert. Another time.
16:43Oh, great.
16:44Excuse me, everybody. Before we read the mail, there's something I'd like to say.
16:49What's that?
16:50What is it?
16:51I hope it's not too late. I've been acting like a greedy little pig. It's almost caught to my friends. And I'm sorry. And it'd make me very happy if you'd all eat up this cake. I can't look at another bite.
17:04Hooray!
17:05Hooray!
17:06Thanks, Erin.
17:07Oh, I feel so thankful to have my friends back.
17:10Being thankful for what you have is the best way to live, Erin. Watch this parable and you'll see what I mean. Harriet, will you turn on the TV set, please?
17:19Oh, great.
17:21What are you trying for me now, God? Look what you made for me. Thanks, Lord. And it's all free.
17:33And this is my freestyle expression of a mosquito's tonsils. Isn't it genius? I've captured it.
17:41Uh, how much is it?
17:43I don't know. Uh, pardon me. Um, how much do you want for this work?
17:47For this? Two thousand dollars. That's all I want.
17:51And God, I want you to know that I'm really glad you made me. Help me to be what you made me to be.
17:59Hey, why aren't you made up? We're supposed to be on in less than ten minutes.
18:05Oh, why can't I sing like this? I don't want to look like a freak.
18:08But we draw bigger crowds this way and we make more money.
18:12Yeah, I know.
18:14Okay, then. Get messed up and get out there.
18:18When I'm out here, I feel close to you. I love everything about you, God. I love everything you've ever made.
18:28I made myself what I am today. I am a genius. I'm wonderful. The man of the hour. The right man for the job. I love me. So vote for me. You'll be glad you did.
18:41I'll be glad when things down here get back to the way it was when you first made it. And I'll be glad for the day when everybody can live together. Just loving one another. And loving you.
18:54You get the bulldozers in there and tear down those buildings. I want my factory up and running as soon as possible.
19:01Uh, but boss, there's a hospital on that property. They'll have to move sick patients.
19:06Look, I don't care. If they don't have the bucks to beat my offer, then they'll have to pack up and go home.
19:13More than anything, Lord, I'll be glad when I can go on home to be with you.
19:18Cause I can't wait to see you and to look into your face and tell you thanks.
19:24Please, everyone, I can't wait any longer. Let's read the mail.
19:38Oh, hey, Gert. I've got a letter from Jennifer. She says, Dear Circle Square friends, I'm sure glad your show is on the air.
19:47Right on. The messages are just great. Your songs and illustrations are really good.
19:53Yeah, that makes sense. I really learned a lot from your show about bitterness and the attitudes that it brings.
19:59God bless y'all. Love, Jennifer.
20:02And I got a letter from Cynthia. It says, Dear Circle Square, this is the first time I saw a good program that both young and old will love.
20:12The words you all say are true, so keep up the good work and keep on living for Jesus.
20:17He's the one to live up for. Live for.
20:20I'm proud all of you stand up for God like he stands up for us. Your friend, Cynthia.
20:27And I've got a letter from Kim. And she says, Dear Circle Square, please send me, my two sisters, a free song book.
20:34My dad is a pastor. Since we started watching Circle Square, we learned to keep our promises and to show others that we are Christians.
20:42Love, Kim.
20:45I have a letter, too. My letter is from Amy.
20:50Dear Circle Square, I'm thankful that the Lord made love in people's hearts and that people like you know how to show it.
20:59Oh, wow, that's fantastic. Thanks for the song book you sent me. Love, Amy.
21:06Oh, that's nice, Amy.
21:09Here's a letter from Dana. Dear Circle Square, hi. How is everything going at Circle Square? I like watching your show. It is interesting. It is all so wonderful.
21:20Knowing God's word and having friends like you all. God bless all of you. Love, Dana.
21:29We will send you a free Circle Square song book. And in the back of the book, it tells you how you can order your own Circle Square t-shirt.
21:37But be sure to include your return address or we can't answer you.
21:41So write soon, because we want to hear from you.
21:46Right.
21:48Circle Square wants to hear from you. So write us a letter. Here's our address.
21:552121 Station F. Toronto, Ontario. F-O-Y, 2-N-9.
22:05Please, everyone. I can't wait any longer.
22:09What now, Egbert?
22:11The cake! The cake!
22:13Let's share the cake!
22:15All right!
22:17You know what? It's a lot more fun sharing what you have than keeping it all for yourself.
22:22Right on. Yeah, that's true.
22:24I know. I'd like a corner piece, please.
22:27Can I tell you you don't look back to the chair?
22:30Yeah, I can.
22:31Oh, you're welcome.
22:35Sharing, loving, showing we care.
