00:00Hello, our coverage of the World's World Cup of Cricket continues now with highlights of Pakistan's match against Holland.
00:16Now this is the second match in three days for Pakistan.
00:19It's going to be played at the Gaddafi ground in Lahore in Pakistan, the venue for the final in a few weeks' time.
00:27Well, results so far. As I said, the second match in three days, Pakistan's opener was a very quick dismissal of the United Arab Emirates, beat them by nine wickets.
00:37Holland have played two already. They lost their opening one to New Zealand and gave England a bit of a scare, losing eventually by 49 runs in that one.
00:47Let's have a quick check on the two teams. As far as Pakistan were concerned, no real changes, no surprises from their opening match.
00:55We're going to be looking at Anwar and Ahmed, a great form of the bat. Of course, they only lost one wicket, so we haven't actually had a chance to see how the likes of Ulhac, Salim Malik and Javed Mjanded will fare out in the middle.
01:07Well, one change also in the Dutch line-up was Stephen Lubbers, the captain, not playing in this one, and his place taken by Roland Lefebvre.
01:15Roland Lefebvre won the toss and elected to bat. Let's pick it up now.
01:19So, Akram the bowler, the first ball, Clark the batsman. And he plays it out to mid-wicket. Some movement there. And that's the match underway.
01:32Just a reminder that Roland won the toss and have elected to bat. Akram from the pavilion end, Clark the batsman.
01:45And that's through him. Clark goes forward and it's through to the keeper, Rashid Latif.
01:58In swing from Akram. Perhaps a little bit of seam movement as well.
02:03That's up in the air, but it's also past the fielder, bisecting the cover and extra cover positions. They've gone through for two.
02:20And that's runs off the bat. 13 for no wicket.
02:24That's a good shot from Peter Cantrell. Probably the shot of the morning so far.
02:30He's rocking onto the back foot there.
02:33Finding the gap between extra cover and mid-off.
02:37Easiest place in the world to hit quick bowlers.
02:40Nice to play.
02:41Akif Javed is a pretty steady performer as first change.
02:46Yes, Bob, I think, as you mentioned about Wassim and Raka.
02:53A tie in the air.
02:55Rashid Latif has called for it.
02:57And he's taken it.
02:59Pakistan have taken the first wicket.
03:02Holland are 16 for one.
03:05Nolan Clark's disappointing World Cup continues.
03:10The veteran Barbadian is gone.
03:13And the first wicket's down.
03:19Trying to pull the ball.
03:20Wasn't really short enough for that.
03:21Nolan Clark out for just four.
03:24Yes, as we see there.
03:26Four runs out of 27 deliveries.
03:29And I think that's what happens when Akif Javed comes onto bowl.
03:32Here he is.
03:39Ball going high in the air.
03:40Rashid Latif calling for it.
03:42Comfortable catch for the wicket-keeper.
03:45Holland 16 for one.
03:47Fielding change for Pakistan now.
03:50The gullies come out.
03:51They're going to station a short extra cover
03:54to complement the wide first slip.
03:57It's the two close catchers.
04:00Good-looking shot.
04:02That'll go all the way to the boundary.
04:03That is a beautiful shot.
04:08And perfectly timed.
04:11Vakar Yunus coming into the attack.
04:14Getting some punishment there.
04:16And I think the Pakistani crowd is enjoying this
04:19because they know that here we see Vakar is straying
04:23a little bit on the onside.
04:25Perfectly timed and perfectly placed.
04:26First boundary of the bat
04:32by the Dutch team.
04:34In the air and out.
04:39Taken at point.
04:42Pakistan strike again.
04:44Holland now are reeling.
04:46They're 28 for two.
04:48Another catch for Ajaz.
04:57This time at point.
05:02Straight to the fielder.
05:04There it is.
05:06Jubilian Vakar Yunus.
05:08Happy with that.
05:10Peter Cantrell goes.
05:12Holland 28 for two.
05:14Klaas Jan van Nortvik.
05:18The new batsman for Holland.
05:22Played very well.
05:24Up at Pasha against England.
05:27So two of the younger brigade together now for Holland.
05:35Tim De Laida on strike.
05:38Off the edge.
05:40Taken by Rashid Latif.
05:43Waka Yunus on fire here.
05:46Hollander 29 for three now.
05:50Good diving catch by Latif.
05:53And this is a heartening sight for all Pakistan supporters.
05:57Waka Yunus back on form.
05:59There it is.
06:00Good catch by Rashid Latif.
06:02And Waka Yunus.
06:04There he is.
06:05Looks a very happy man.
06:06And this is what the Pakistanis need.
06:10The Pakistani bowlers need a few wickets.
06:12They need that gain confidence before they get into the matches against South Africa, England and New Zealand.
06:18Tim De Laida faced 18 balls but didn't trouble the scorers.
06:23He's gone.
06:24Caught behind off Waka.
06:25Holland 29 for three.
06:26Flavian Aponso the new batsman for Holland.
06:33Sri Lankan born.
06:34Left-hander.
06:36Just three one-day internationals in his career with an average of 11.
06:41That's up in the air and he could be outcourt and no, it's over the boundary line, is it?
06:56It's a six.
07:01He had the catch and then he went over.
07:06A six has been given.
07:10So that's interesting.
07:12Let's watch it again.
07:15Well, this is a fascinating piece of cricket.
07:19It's a brilliant catch, in fact.
07:22Running backwards.
07:23But the fielder knows his momentum is going to take him back over the line.
07:28And so what he does is throw the ball back into play.
07:34And the point that Wasi Makram's making to umpire Francis is that the ball, at no stage, crossed the boundary rope.
07:44There it goes, into his hand.
07:46Now his momentum's taking it back.
07:48He touches the rope and then throws it over.
07:53So it's certainly a boundary four because the fielder was in touch with the rope.
07:58And KT Francis, the umpire, has consulted Mr. Sharma from India, the third umpire, and confirms that, in fact, it is six.
08:10So on the full, the player's foot goes onto the rope.
08:14And in Mr. Francis' judgment, that is six runs.
08:18Watch Seydanwar again.
08:20And he flicks the ball back.
08:22But look at the boot.
08:24It's touching the, uh, boundary line.
08:27So there it is at six.
08:29It's important for Pakistan to keep concentrating in this match.
08:33They're well on top.
08:34They're coming up to the halfway point of the Dutch innings.
08:37But they don't want to relax at all.
08:42Once again, shuffle down the wicket.
08:46No run.
08:4652 for three at the end of the halfway mark.

09:42Ooh, that tickles.
09:46Dive, dive, dive.
09:49Always Coca-Cola.
09:51We're just going to float around and soak this up for a while.
09:54Very delicious.

10:55Tonight, 9 p.m. India.
10:57Channel V.
10:58Whatever it is.
10:59Wherever it is.
11:00You're...
11:00Yes, you would have to think that Mushtaq Ahmed's going to have a very important part to play
11:16in this World Cup.
11:19Some of the best sides in this competition do not play leg spin all that well.
11:29That's a fine hit, and it's going to be 6 or a 4.
11:33We'll have to wait for the signal.
11:35It's 6.
11:37Beautiful shot by van Nordvik.
11:43Van Nordvik taking his life in his hands.
11:45That's a magnificent shot over mid-wicket.
11:49Front foot planted down the pitch and hauled over the onside boundary, and it is a big boundary
11:59here at the Qaddafi Stadium.
12:01Six runs.
12:08Mushtaq then to Ponzo.
12:11It's up in the air.
12:12There's a dive by the keeper.
12:13We'll have to wait for the replay because the way Rashid Latif went for it, Mushtaq threw
12:21his hands up in the air.
12:23That could have been an edge.
12:25Rashid Latif's made an enormous amount of ground there.
12:28About 10 yards, despairing dive, but he just can't hold on to the ball.
12:36Pick outside edge.
12:38Running down to third man.
12:40And it's going to be four runs.
12:42Said Anwar can't cut it off.
12:44Over the boundary line it goes.
12:47And some welcome runs for Holland.
12:49Well, the groundsman and his staff here at the Qaddafi Stadium have done a magnificent job
12:57with this outfield.
12:58It's beautiful, lush green grass, but look at the speed the ball travels over it.
13:03Full toss here, ripped away on the onside.
13:10He's going to have to hurry a Ponzo.
13:12A good throw may have had him stretching.
13:14And in the end, umpire Baknoor has signaled for the third umpire.
13:18So the crowd, immediately the interest factor goes up.
13:22Mushtaq is pretty pleased with that.
13:24There it is.
13:24Nice pick up.
13:26One handed.
13:27And a nice return too.
13:29He's not even in the frame at the moment.
13:30I think he's struggling.
13:33Pretty close.
13:41I think that's going to be a tough one for the third umpire.
13:45There has to be the element of doubt there, Arsif, as to exactly when the stumps are broken
13:49because the fielder, Sahail, on this occasion, he actually shields the stumps.
13:54So the doubt factor is there.
13:55That does go in the favour of the batsmen and we see the green light.
13:58But very tough call.
14:00And umpire Baknoor well within his rights to go to the third umpire's box.
14:05And he's come up with the green light.
14:07And the right decision by the third umpire, no doubt about it.
14:10As I said, benefit of the doubt has to go to the batsman.
14:14But nice, nice piece of work by Mushtaq.
14:18Very aggressive running towards the ball and picking up one-handed.
14:23And there it is again, we'll see.
14:25It's a good-looking shot back past the bowler, but they'll only pick up one.
14:37Tough assignment for the Dutchman, Robin.
14:39Yes, it hasn't been easy for them.
14:41I think they've done pretty well first up front, as you mentioned earlier, Bob,
14:45to win the toss and say, okay, we're actually going to have a bat here.
14:49They could have easily chickened out and let Pakistan bat first
14:52and made some vain attempt to get whatever they got.
14:56And that's not being derogatory.
14:58That's just a fact of life.
14:59But they've done well here.
15:00And as much as they do have seven overs,
15:04and that's a fine shot for four.
15:06They've got seven overs left and lots of wickets.
15:08And so they just might get up around the 160 mark
15:10if they don't lose a collection of wickets quickly.
15:13But what a beautiful stroke that was from van Nordwijk.
15:19Klaas Jan van Nordwijk crashing Aqib through the covers.
15:23You won't see many better cricket shots than that.
15:27Once again, speeding across this Gaddafi Stadium outfield.
15:30That's up in the air.
15:35Who's calling for it?
15:37Cover's coming in to take it.
15:39And an easy catch.
15:41Mustak Ahmed called loud and clear.
15:45He took the responsibility.
15:47He took the catch into the bargain.
15:50A good stand comes to an end between Aponso and van Nordwijk.
15:54Holland now 102 for four.
15:56And just exactly what they didn't want this early on.
16:03Because new batsmen coming in with Eunice and Akram to finish still.
16:07But that went up quite high.
16:08And I like the way that Mustak said,
16:11that's okay, I'll catch this.
16:13Everybody else get out of the way and completed the job well.
16:17Good innings though.
16:19Against the odds.
16:2033 off 89 deliveries.
16:24102 for four.
16:25The Dutch captain today, Roland Lefebvre, coming in at number six.
16:31He's a hard-hitting batsman.
16:40Straight through where first slip might have been.
16:44He wasn't, so it's another boundary for Aponso.
16:47Hakim Javed is not impressed.
16:54Yes, that's one of the vagal reasons of playing limited overs cricket.
16:57If you don't have a slip-in,
16:58which is a sensible thing to do at this stage of an innings,
17:02you just have to accept those situations with a shrug at the shoulders.
17:05Do you think this one-day game is biased too far in favour of the batsman, Robin?
17:12I know we're a couple of cynical old pacemen here,
17:15but it'd be a riot if Tendulkar or Lara was hauled off after ten overs of batting
17:21and say, that's your lot, mate.
17:24I think they've got it about right.
17:26I think that one-day cricket should be presented with good pitches.
17:32That's the 50.
17:32He can't even be 51 if he looks to come back.
17:36No, he doesn't.
17:37He's going to savour the moment.
17:39What a wonderful moment that is.
17:43Very happy man.
17:46And very generous applause from this crowd,
17:48which has built up steadily through the morning here at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
17:53Terrific moment for Flavian Aponso.
17:56Aponso the batting.
17:58Bound in!
18:00Dane Bound.
18:01And the fifth wicket is down for 130 and the crowd loves it.
18:07That's what they want from a fast burner and they've got it.
18:11I think we talked about the Yorker, the in-swinging Yorker.
18:16The one that's nice and full.
18:18Prevents the batsman playing the big shots.
18:19You will not see a better example of the Yorker than this one here from Waka Yunus.
18:25It's right on target.
18:27He's aiming to hit the base of Leg Stump.
18:29Sneak under the bat and look at that for accuracy.
18:32Leg Stump goes cartwheeling back towards the wicketkeeper.
18:35And on his way back to the pavilion, Flavian Aponso.
18:38Very handy knock for Holland to date.
18:41But he's gone now and they're 130 for five.
18:45Zudorant, Bass is Zudorant the new man in.
18:48And he's come in to replace Aponso who got 59, was bowled by Wakaar.
18:54Leg Stump going through the air.
18:57And that's his record.
18:59Three matches, three innings, 55 runs.
19:02An average of 55 with 150.
19:08So, Zadarin to face.
19:13And that's up in the air and it's a fine shot over mid-off.
19:16It's going to be four runs.
19:19One.
19:22Three, nine for five.
19:25After 49.
19:27Well, there's a shot he can take home with pride.
19:34He was a macram over the top of mid-off before he's up inside the circle.
19:38So, that was a good option from the young player.
19:41And he got the timing and the placement just right.
19:45The first facing.
19:49He's on ten.
19:53Bowled air, middle Stump.
19:57What a beautiful delivery.
20:00Although Lefebvre was going for the big hit.
20:02But he's clean bowled and the crowd to their feet.
20:06One, four, three now.
20:09No disgrace in this for Roland Lefebvre.
20:16He really did have to up the ante.
20:18Captain for the day.
20:20And he was looking for the boundary.
20:23Accuracy personified Wakar Yunus.
20:26He saw him hit the base of leg Stump to get rid of a ponzo.
20:29And he's cartwheeled middle Stump to get rid of Lefebvre for ten.
20:32And it's 1.43 for six.
20:39And that's Gauha who's coming to bat.
20:42Right-handed batsman.
20:43Eric Gauha.
20:44That's how it's pronounced.
20:45Although there's a G there.
20:47Last delivery of a shortened run.
20:50Studer and the batsman drives it into the covers.
20:53They go for one.
20:55Are they coming back for the second?
20:56Yes, they are.
20:56There comes the return.
20:57It's going to be close.
20:58There's an appeal.
21:00And the third umpire comes into question.
21:03So the innings ending on an interesting note.
21:13The third umpire to decide.
21:16A good bit of fielding here too from Masali Malik.
21:19A bounce throw in.
21:20Well taken by Rashid Latif.
21:22Baz Siderant is always struggling.
21:24He decided to come back for the second.
21:26And off go the bails.
21:28In fact, they are off.
21:30It's very hard to tell from this angle.
21:31And the third umpire will have to take that into account.
21:36So Baz Siderant sliding the bat.
21:38Doing everything right from his point of view.
21:40From that angle, very hard for the umpire to give him out.
21:44He has the red lights on.
21:46He's confident that the bails came off.
21:48Malik this roller.
21:48We may get a better view of it from this angle.
21:51We'll see the ball bounce in there.
21:53He's well short at this point.
21:54Siderant.
21:55Off go the bails.
21:56Yes, indeed.
21:57It's Tashama from India.
21:58The third umpire has made the correct decision.
22:00And Siderant's on his way.
22:02145 then for the loss of seven wickets.
22:05At least they managed to get through their 50 overs.
22:07But I think the total will be small consolation.
22:10Let's have a look at how they scored those runs.
22:12Nolan Clarke, the oldest man in the tournament.
22:14Failing again, I'm afraid.
22:16Just four runs.
22:17Peter Cantrell may have been happy with that 17.
22:19I don't know.
22:20But Flavian Alponso, 58 for him.
22:23And Van Nortvik, 33.
22:25They were the only real successes with the bat from the Dutch side.
22:29Plenty of success with the ball from Pakistan.
22:32Looking a superbly balanced side once again.
22:35Akram didn't take any wickets but conceded just 30 runs.
22:38Waqar Yunus, the pick of them all.
22:40Brilliant figures there.
22:41Four for 26.
22:42And Javed, once again, filling in as the first change bowler and picking up two wickets very cheaply.
22:4825 runs.
22:49Man of the match for their first game.
22:50Mushtak didn't take a wicket but showed us some of his leg spin artistry.
22:56Plenty of googly's in amongst that lot as well.
22:59So a total of, what, a target of 146.
23:02It never really was going to be much of a challenge or was it?
23:05Let's see how the Pakistan openers got on.
23:08And, of course, just checking on the Pakistan line-up in their previous match.
23:13Only three of them actually went out to the middle of the square.
23:16Amir Sahel was out cheaply but Saeed Anwar and Ijaz Ahmed took them home against the UAE.
23:23No batting experience yet for Inzaman ul Haqq, Salim Malek, Javed Mianded, Wazi Makran, Rashid Latif.
23:28They backed down that far.
23:30I don't know whether they expect to get a knock in this one.
23:33We'll see how they get on after this break.
23:46Sunday, the NBA slams into New Jersey.
23:51Good evening, basketball fans, wherever you may be.
23:54The Seattle Supersonics could be in for another great catch.
23:57Will the Nets hold off Gary Payton and his squad in the NBA Game of the Week?
24:02Sunday at 7.30 p.m. India on Star Sports.
24:05A clean, pollution-free experience.
24:11Off the road.
24:13And on the road.
24:17Hero Honda.
24:18India's environment-friendly bike.
24:20We care.
24:22If you've ever said,
24:24I think they should keep advertising out of sport.
24:28Well, the next time you're watching your favorite team,
24:31you might consider that advertising probably covers 50% of the cost.
24:35So you choose.
24:38Without advertising,
24:40it would, as the saying goes,
24:42be a whole new ballgame.
24:46Advertising.
24:48The right to choose.
24:51If you don't know what's cool and what's not in Asia,
24:56it's not too late to change.

25:37What will the next generation experience in the next millennium?
25:40Take time out to experience tomorrow's world today
25:44at these times on BBC World.
25:46Roland LaFerra with the first ball.
26:01Rolling to Amir Sohail.
26:03LaFerra is the captain today.
26:05He's chosen not to have any slipfielders.
26:07His two close catches are the veterans.
26:12Peter Cantrell's at short extra cover.
26:15And Nolan Clarke at a short mid-wicket position.
26:17And the only man outside the circle on the leg side
26:23is in fact a deep backward square leg.
26:27The long leg up in the fielding circle.
26:30Third man's down on the boundary edge.
26:34So we're seeing a variety of ploys by the captains
26:37with these fielding positions in the first 15 overs.
26:43That's the way through mid-wicket.
26:45The crowd are cheering.
26:46That's the first Pakistan boundary.
26:54There it is Amir Sohail.
26:59That's up in the air.
27:01And he's gone.
27:03Success for Holland.
27:06Amir Sohail is the man out.
27:09Caught at mid on Pakistan.
27:12Ten for one after five overs.
27:15Ball high in the air.
27:33Amir Sohail departs.
27:36Nine for Amir Sohail.
27:43Ten the score.
27:43The first wicket is down.
27:47Ijaz Ahmed.
27:48Pakistan's number three batsman.
27:50He won't be on strike.
27:51The fervor to Saeed Anwar.
27:55Down the track again.
27:57And that's gone through mid off for four.
28:01The bowler didn't really deserve that.
28:03And he's furious.
28:04Saeed Anwar drives.
28:10It's a little upish.
28:11But it's going to be four runs.
28:17Very firmly hit.
28:18Four more to Pakistan.
28:20And four more to him.
28:21Punishment for over pitching here.
28:25Janssen just bowling a long half volley.
28:28Outside the off stump.
28:29The ball went in the air slightly.
28:31Because Saeed's right foot didn't go the whole way to it.
28:35As we see it again.
28:36You'll see the bat goes there.
28:37The right foot's anchored on leg stump.
28:38Caused a little bit of overbalancing.
28:40But he certainly middled it.
28:41Raced away for four.
28:44Janssen now to say it again.
28:46And that's a lovely shot.
28:48Could be a six.
28:49Yes it is.
28:52Over long on.
28:53A magnificent shot.
28:55Which brings the crowd to their feet.
28:57The flags are waving.
28:59There they are.
29:01And they're all absolutely delighted.
29:03That's what they've come to see.
29:04And that's what they've got.
29:07Saeed Anwar cutting loose now.
29:09Top four one ball.
29:11Six the next.
29:12Perfectly timed.
29:15And three or four metres over the rope.
29:21That's a big hit.
29:22Could be a six.
29:25And it is.
29:27Over the boundary line.
29:29Over long off.
29:31What that magnificent hitting by these two.
29:34And the crowd love it.
29:40Perfect cricket shot.
29:42Certainly in the first 15 overs.
29:44Of an international one day game.
29:46He just hit straight through the line.
29:48And it was six virtually.
29:50As it left the middle of his bat.
29:52Beautiful stroke.
29:53Plays it uppishly.
29:59But over the heads of the gully fielder there.
30:02And it's gone for four.
30:04Over the third man boundary.
30:06And that's the 50 partnership.
30:15Certainly went high over Cantrell's head.
30:18But it's.
30:18The impression I got was that he didn't see it as it left the bat.
30:21Not that it would have helped him.
30:22Because it was too high.
30:24Seemed to be going in the wrong direction.
30:25But a good partnership from these two.
30:30The ball drifting away.
30:31He had very little.
30:32Control over it when he hit it.
30:34Other than.
30:35Knowing that he was getting it up and over the fielder's head.
30:41Oh and he's dropped.
30:45Well that's interesting.
30:46Because that was a seven ball over.
30:48Katie Francis.
30:50Slipping the extra ball in for no real reason.
30:53And that might have just cost Pakistan a wicket.
30:54That's the end of the 18th over.
30:58The score is 65 for one.
31:05That's a beautiful shot from Saeed Anwar.
31:07He's hit that on the up.
31:09He's wide of off stump.
31:10He beat the man at cover.
31:11And it raced away for four.
31:13That was a magnificent shot.
31:16He waited for it.
31:17And then played it to perfection.
31:20There the Pakistani supporters.
31:22Sharing.
31:22This shot.
31:25Which on the up.
31:27Saeed Anwar playing away from his body.
31:30And picking the right spot.
31:35Well there's no trouble with the timing there for Ejaz.
31:38And the placement very good as well.
31:40It's raced away for four.
31:42That's right.
31:45And the delight of the Bucks that we tried.
31:48Ejaz has put back that floor with a well-timed and well-closed late cut.
31:54No chance of any field of cutting there.
31:57Flash out field.
31:59More racing.
32:00Towards the boundary.
32:03Down the wicket.
32:05And over the top of cover.
32:06Will it carry all the way?
32:07Just one bounce floor.
32:10Good use of the feet there from Saeed Anwar.
32:12And that's 50.
32:14Yes.
32:14That was a magnificent shot.
32:15Because coming down to a spinner and then placing that shot.
32:19You need adjustment.
32:20Which he did.
32:21And one bounce over the fence.
32:24That's his 50.
32:25The crowd is delighted.
32:26But there is Saeed Anwar will see the shot.
32:33There he is waiting for the ball and then going through the shot.
32:36Making sure that the placement is there.
32:39Bicecting those two fielders on the bundline.
32:41One at long off and one wide-ish net off.
32:46So that shot also brought up the Pakistan 100.
32:52And again through the onside this time.
32:54And how's the placement on this occasion?
32:56A good contest.
32:57But the ball wins the race.
32:59Four more to Saeed Anwar.
33:01And Pakistan through now to 104 for one after 25.
33:20March.

35:01Power and mileage.
35:03Real-life drama.
35:09It just gets out of control.
35:11Ernie, talk to me.
35:13NYPD Blue.
35:14Wednesday, 9pm on Star Plus.
35:16These two at the wickery.
35:30Jazz Ahmed on strike side and they're happy to do it themselves.
35:33Cantrell the bowler.
35:34And so they should because, as I said earlier, I think it's important that the win, they win convincingly and come.
35:46There's the shot of the previous over, which again, beautifully placed by Sai Dhanwar.
35:53This time, Ijaz Ahmed trying to play that cut shot again.
36:00Very good player.
36:01He's got that grip very low down on the handle.
36:04Very good player square of the wicket on both sides.
36:07Yes, bottom hand.
36:08He uses plenty of that.
36:09Down the wicket this time, Ijaz.
36:14Will it carry all the way?
36:15There's a man underneath it.
36:16And he's gone.
36:17So, Ijaz Ahmed, the right-hander, using his feet, coming down to Pete Cantrell, trying to lift it over long on.
36:26The timing wasn't there.
36:27And in the end, comfortable catch in the deep.
36:31And breakthrough for Holland.
36:34Yes, and I'm sure he's not happy with that shot of his.
36:38There it is, coming bottom of the bat.
36:42Picking up the field there.
36:43He didn't have to move much.
36:45And a good, well-justed catch.
36:49So, Ijaz Ahmed is on his way for 39.
36:54And Pakistan 104 for 2.
36:58Our first look at Inzimam Al-Haq in this World's World Cup of 1996.
37:05And getting on with it straight away.
37:07What a magnificent hit.
37:11Yes, no fine.
37:15That's what the crowd demanded.
37:17They were chanting, Sixer, Sixer.
37:20And Inzimam obliges.
37:23A couple of strides down the pitch.
37:26A magnificent follow-through.
37:28That's cleared the boundary rope by fully 25 yards.
37:31Here we go again.
37:34Here we go again.
37:41Yeah, six more.
37:43Difficult for Longhoff.
37:44He didn't quite know whether it was going or not.
37:47Cantrell, the fielder.
37:48This crowd just loving it.
37:54That's what they've come to see.
37:56Peter Cantrell down there on the long-off boundary.
37:59Even if he'd been right back on the rope, the ball would still have cleared him.
38:03Not as quite a cleaner strike as Inzimam hands.
38:08Well, the first ball from the new bowler.
38:22Cholka just clipped away for four.
38:25Welcome to the World Cup.
38:26Yes, indeed.
38:28He's bowling to a couple of players now that look to be in pretty good touch.
38:31Saeed Anwar.
38:33All left-handers love it there, don't they?
38:35Just on the pads.
38:38Well, this could well be the last over
38:40of the day's play,
38:45depending on how accurately it's bowled.
38:50There's four.
38:52So it's going to be bowled pretty accurately now.
38:55Not to be.
38:56Well, there's a learning curve for Holland,
39:01and I'm sure each day that they play cricket in this tournament,
39:03they're learning something.
39:05Well, Eric Halka is learning that you do not bow
39:07to very good left-handers on their pads.
39:10That is just a free hit.
39:11You've got your man up inside the circle at fine leg,
39:14and that's just a gimme four.
39:16Just two to win, then.
39:36Javed Miandad yet to make his debut in this World Cup.
39:51Should have really used the word debut.
39:53He's played in every other one.
39:54All square on one, four, five.
40:02And now Roland brings everybody in to save one.
40:06I don't think that's a...
40:11and a frightened Zahid.
40:13That was pretty predictable.
40:35Six as well.
40:38So they take the score.
40:39Right through to 151.
40:43An eight-wicket victory.
40:45Pretty emphatic.
40:48And...
40:49as expected, I think it's fair to say.
40:54A good crowd here at Lahore.
40:56They've witnessed a pretty authoritative performance
40:58from the home side, Pakistan.
41:00They were expected to win this match
41:02and win it quite comfortably.
41:03Well, I've done that.
41:04And the last shot from Saeed Anwar.
41:07That just demonstrates the dominance they've had in the match.
41:10He's prepared to go over the top to finish the game.
41:12And over the top he goes all the way.
41:15So it has been a good day for Pakistan.
41:18A good workout for Holland.
41:19More experience gained.
41:21They've played against a top-notch side.
41:23The current world champions have played with credit once again.
41:27It's been an uphill battle.
41:28And in the end, you see there, a comfortable win for Pakistan.
41:32So after a fairly slow start, it didn't seem to matter
41:34because they once again got in their stride.
41:37Saeed Anwar, a terrific knock for him.
41:39Let's check on the card.
41:40So Hale won't be too happy, going twice very cheaply.
41:45But Saeed Anwar carried his bat for 83.
41:47Ijaz Ahmed couldn't carry his bat this time.
41:5039 off 53 deliveries.
41:52And Imzemaam, all hack, not out to 18.
41:55As far as the Dutch bowling figures are concerned,
41:57not really too much for them to celebrate.
41:59You wouldn't expect.
42:00The Ferber, one wicket for 20.
42:02Cantrell got the only other wicket for 18 runs.
42:05Backer off for 7 overs, 0 for 13.
42:08But never really enough firepower in the Dutch line-up
42:11to trouble the Pakistani batsmen.
42:13So they've had two fairly comfortable wins
42:16in their first two matches.
42:17Pakistan, the defending champions, not really being tested.
42:20But plenty of tests to come.
42:22More cricket after this.
42:24Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:25Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:26Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:27Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:28Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:29Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:30Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:31Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:32Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:33Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:34Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:35Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:36Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:37Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:38Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:39Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:40Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:41Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:42Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:43Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:44Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:45Pakistan, the defending champions.
42:46Pakistan, the defending champions.
