The Southern brush-tailed rock-wallaby is the ACT's mammal emblem - and also critically endangered, last seen in the wild in the capital in 1959. Six wallabies from Victoria were flown to Canberra to breed with a population at Tidbinbilla and, hopefully, make it more genetically robust
