00:00Malaysia will now face a 19% tariff on exports to the United States,
00:06a reduction from the previous 25% following a new executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
00:14The revised tariff structure takes effect in seven days and applies to goods entering the U.S. for consumption,
00:20with limited exceptions for shipments already in transit.
00:24Signed on July 31, 2025, the order amends Executive Order 14,257
00:32and imposes updated ad valorem duties on several of America's trading partners,
00:38including all major ASEAN nations.
00:41According to the updated list, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia
00:47will each face a 19% tariff.
00:50Vietnam is slightly higher at 20%, while Brunei remains at 25%.
00:57Laos and Myanmar are hit the hardest, with a steep 40% duty.
01:02However, Singapore is not included in this latest round of adjustments.
