00:00Now it's a sit down with Dave Franco and Alison Brie.
00:03Hey you two.
00:04Hi.
00:05Everyone is talking about your new movie together.
00:07What an interesting way to delve into relationships and what it means to be close.
00:12You've worked together before, but this is physically different.
00:15When you first told people about this project and its subject matter, what was the general
00:18reaction?
00:19This is the fifth time we've worked together.
00:21Yeah, it's just felt like we keep upping the ante and I don't know how we will top
00:26this one in terms of the insanity of it all.
00:30But no, I think everyone in our lives recognizes how well we work together, how much we like
00:35working together.
00:36Ultimately, it's said more about their relationships.
00:39Exactly.
00:40They're projecting something onto us because they're thinking about how difficult it would
00:44be to work with their own partner and we're like, don't put that on us.
00:46We love this.
00:49Do either of you have a favorite horror trope you were dying to play out?
00:52I don't know if there was like a trope that I was seeking out, but in the moments when
00:58during the Saw scene, when we're screaming our lungs out and having like a classic horror
01:06scream.
01:07Yeah.
01:08That was fun.
01:09I definitely cut my bangs to emulate Shelley Duvall in The Shining.
01:15That is such an iconic performance.
01:18It's unglamorous, you know, it's off putting in some ways that feel very real.
01:24Like when you're scared, when you're terrified, you're not like, my voice sounds perfect and
01:29not annoying.
01:30Um, so I feel like that sort of super vulnerable final girl trope was something I was mixing
01:36in a little.
01:38Are either of you into astrology?
01:39I feel like looking up other active signs could help work with them as closely as you two
01:43have to.
01:44You know, here's what I will tell you about my relationship with astrology and with Dave.
01:49I'm a Capricorn.
01:51And when I was dating in my twenties, I had this book that would match up every pairing.
01:57When Dave and I met, I flipped to the Capricorn Gemini page and it said like, run for the hills.
02:04You are not a match.
02:06And I threw the book in the garbage.
02:08Oh wow.
02:09I don't know if I knew that story.
02:13Congrats on the Emmy nomination for the studio, Dave.
02:16In your wildest dreams, did you ever think you'd be competing in a category against Ron
02:20Howard and Martin Scorsese?
02:22I always saw that coming.
02:28No, it's insane.
02:30And the truth of it all is I truly did not think this nomination was even a possibility.
02:38I remember when they first sent me all of the episodes, I started watching through it and
02:44I was like, oh no, this is my favorite show and I'm about to come in and ruin it.
02:49We also didn't know when the nominations were being announced.
02:54And so we were in our kitchen and I got a text from my publicist and it just said Emmy
03:00nomination.
03:00And I go, oh my God.
03:02And I'm like listening to a podcast, like what's going on?
03:06I was like, I think I just got nominated for an Emmy and I had to, I had to Google it.
03:11I didn't believe it.
03:13They are not a microdose.
03:15Let's talk about your dream blunt rotation, studio stars, cameos only.
03:19I mean, we probably should throw Scorsese in there cause why wouldn't we?
03:23Definitely.
03:24I mean, also Ron Howard for the same reason, like, I mean, might as well just go with my
03:30whole category of the people I'm nominated with.
03:33Let's throw in Bryan Cranston.
03:34That's a great, that's a great trio right there.
03:36Cranston, definitely.
03:37Yes.
03:38That's great.
03:39Okay.
03:40We're going to put 10 seconds on the clock.
03:41Tell everyone why Together is a must-see.
03:43This is a movie that is truly for everyone.
03:46You will be shocked and surprised and you'll have a great time.
03:51Dave and Alison, thank you so much for being here today.
03:54Really appreciate it.
