00:00Yesterday, as I was feeding her, she watched with dark, shiny eyes.
00:16Ashen that, Satsui, I murmured, smoothing her soft, thick hair.
00:22Then she stopped drinking milk and smiled.
00:26Her eyes became curved slits of joy.
00:30As drops of milk slid down her chin.
00:34Later, when I changed her diaper, her arms and legs were finally freed from being swaddled.
00:41And she became a sweet blur of motion and softness.
00:46She stretched her limbs and yawned the whole time, smiling.
00:51She kept smiling, her mouth wide open and her arms twirling and legs kicking.
01:28Then she laughed, a sweet even ripple of happiness.
01:33Then we were both laughing, looking into each other's faces.
01:39Silly boxing club.
01:41Silly masane club.
01:44Silly goo goo.
01:45She was touching my face and hair as I kissed and nuzzled her little tummy.
01:52At that moment, I rediscovered myself in her radiant laughter.
01:57The earlier fatigue, worry, and constant aches that had become my companions fell away.
02:06I was made anew again.
02:08We are all made anew again by the clear radiance of a baby's laughter.
02:19Her name is Khanezbat Lorna Holona.
