The United States Army carried out a high-speed test of the HIMARS rocket system on Christmas Island, an Australian territory in the Indian Ocean, as part of the Talisman Sabre 2025 military exercise.

The operation also involved forces from Canada and Australia and aimed to demonstrate rapid response and precision strike capabilities from remote locations. After the simulation concluded, vehicles and soldiers were evacuated from the area by a military transport aircraft.

00:00We're honored to be here today with our Australian friends and brothers and
00:04sisters to watch this momentous day. When President Trump talks about peace
00:08through strength, the best way to be strong is when our friends and our
00:12allies are strong. The production of the PRISM missile and the partnership with
00:17the Australians and the training that went into this event is a model for us as
00:21Americans on how we can project and partner with our allies to project
00:25strength throughout the world. We are incredibly excited to be partnering with
00:29the Australians for the development and production of this missile. That is the
00:33type of manufacturing around the world that can strengthen both our American
00:38defense industrial base and also that of our allies.
