00:00A thing called home responsibilities protection and what this did is if you
00:04stopped working to look after your child or somebody was sick it gave you the
00:07national insurance contributions that you would have otherwise got from working
00:12and national insurance contributions are what's needed for you to get the full
00:16state pension. So there could be many women who are not getting the full state
00:20pension because they should have got home responsibilities protection and they
00:23didn't get it because of an error. So this is what you need to do if all of
00:27those things ring true you took time of work between 1978 and 2010 you claim
00:31child benefit before 2000 you need to go into gov.uk you need to check your state
00:36pension forecast if you're not forecast to get a full state pension when you hit
00:40retirement age then you need to go and look have you got any missing national
00:44insurance years. If those years are missing at the same time that you were
00:48off work to pay for to do for the childcare for the long term then you
00:52were probably due home responsibilities protection and you need to go and check
00:56that you can also check your child benefit records and you apply on the home
01:00responsibilities protection part of gov.uk
