Did the Patriots find a gem in the 3rd round with this O-Lineman?? Could O-Line be better than people initially thought?
Could Jared Wilson win the LG or C job?
Transcript
00:00We don't overreact to training camp, but one thing I did want to point out that I found was positive
00:04was it seems as though Jared Wilson, the fourth-round rookie out of the University of Georgia,
00:09might be able to play football pretty quick here in the NFL.
00:11He has looked good so far in training camp.
00:14I have heard nothing but glowing remarks about him to the point where he may even come close to
00:19leapfrogging or jumpfrogging, as we say on this program.
00:23Cole Strange, to be your starting left guard, which is very promising.
00:26A guy who I thought when they drafted him was extremely athletic.
00:30I didn't know exactly how fast he would be able to adjust to the NFL.
00:34I didn't think he'd start at center right away, but it doesn't seem like that's the case.
00:37I think he might find himself playing left guard for this football team, which is a positive
00:41because if at the end of the day, three years from now, you can say confidently you found
00:47two legitimate starting offensive linemen in this draft, you took a massive, massive step
00:52in the right direction in supporting your young quarterback and building an offense.
00:55So that, to me, is an encouraging sign.
00:58Yeah, and I've heard mostly positive stuff about the way the line looks.
01:02I mean, other than...
01:04Morgan Moses has been old, but outside of that, for the most part, Greg, I would agree.
01:10Yeah, but they said when he put the pads on, he looked okay, Morgan Moses.
01:16He was getting dominated by Harold Landry, I believe.
01:19In one-on-ones?
01:19Yeah, well, just in general.
01:21Well, BC guys are pretty good.
01:23I just, like, you know, there's, like, you know how it is, Greg.
01:26Like I said, we talked about this year.
01:28Everybody sees things differently down there.
01:30Based on what you're hearing is that the O-line looks like they're doing a good job.
01:36Yeah, they get beaten one-on-ones in certain situations here, but they...
01:40I read a report where the run game looked great.
01:42Eight out of ten run plays they had were all positive yard plays.
01:46And so, who the hell knows, but it hasn't been something, and I guess I'll get to it in my lead,
01:52that lets me know how training camp is really going.
01:55But it's good.
01:57I'm not going to do that without saying that he was learning.
01:58You can talk to me just like Việt Nam Tş.
02:02You're going to think, no, you only Central there, that Seung wanted to be fighting him,
02:04and you're still looking for those who play hope, and this is what you're learning.
02:05Leave me here for a minute.
02:07I'm sure he'sekenite to play pitch.
02:08You're going to talk to me.
02:10Think about you.
02:11You're ready, you're going to take your hands up.
02:12Come back together.
02:14I'm not sure I'm ready to go.
02:15You'll be right to walk to you, we've got an interface.
02:17There's going to help.
02:18And this is what you're going to do today.
02:19I don't know.
