00:00We want to introduce you to Thor.
00:01Thor already wants to play.
00:03So if you want a dog that's a chill dog,
00:06written in Perlambus,
00:07this is not a chill.
00:08This is a dog that wants to go outside.
00:10And before we get into all the greetings
00:12and what the dog's all about,
00:14can you tell us about the program you have
00:16where we can rent a dog for a day or an hour?
00:19The rental program.
00:20And I'm joking, it isn't a rental, obviously.
00:21But that's a cool thing for someone
00:23who wants to spend a little time with the dog.
00:25Can you tell our listeners how that works?
00:26Yeah, so the Bowerbodies program basically is
00:29you fill out the foster application.
00:30You can take a dog out, kind of like a lunch date.
00:33We give you lists of places that you can take the dog to.
00:36You can have it for the day, overnight, for the weekend.
00:39And then you just bring the dog back.
00:40We give you a bag with lots of goodies.
00:42We give you water, treats, toys, you name it.
00:45People love the program.
00:47It's such a huge success because it helps get the dogs out,
00:49get them promoted, and things like that.
00:52And it's a chance for someone who's looking for a dog
00:57to not have to go all the way in.
00:59You can kind of put your foot in the water a little bit
01:01and see what it's all about.
01:02Do you like each other?
01:04And I think it's a great deal.
01:06And by the way, if you don't mind,
01:07I've got to say thank you to our sponsors,
01:08Tito's Handmade Vodka, Vodka for Dog People,
01:11throughout our whole Beach Buddies program.
01:13What is this, our ninth year, Deb?
01:14Nine years of this.
01:15They've been there from the get-go.
01:16Thank you, Tito's, for sponsoring all this.
01:19But our friend Thor here.
01:21Thor is having a great time running around.
01:23What's Thor's story?
01:24Where did you find Thor?
01:26How old is Thor?
01:28So Thor is two years old.
01:30He has a big heart full of boundless energy.
01:33He was found on a street as a stray.
01:36A good Samaritan brought him into us.
01:38He's just looking for a good, loving home.
01:41Yeah, he's just fantastic.
01:43I mean, we're not going to get him out.
01:45And the whole process of picking up a dog,
01:47wrestling with a dog, bringing a dog home,
01:49you've made that so easy.
01:51I mean, the whole thing takes it to...
01:53And by the way, if you want to,
01:54you can come in here into one of these rooms
01:56and sit with the dog and hang him for a little bit, right?
01:58Oh, yeah, absolutely.
01:59Yeah, you can come in.
02:00We can do a manger meet and greet as well.
02:02So if you want to meet the dog,
02:04we can call up for a kennel staff to take him out.
02:06You can meet him out here in the bone yard,
02:08things like that.
02:08The bone yard.
02:09This is a fun little area right here.
02:10Take a look at Thor and all the dogs
02:13on our Beach Buddies page, thebeachmiami.com.
02:15And thank you again, Tito's,
02:16Handmade Vodka Vodka for Dog People.
02:17We want to introduce you to Roxy,
02:19who just came bounding out the door
02:21like she's on stage.
02:23And she's an interesting case
02:25because she's a sponsored dog.
02:26Can you explain to our listeners how that works?
02:29Yes.
02:29So we have a Senior Paws Program
02:31where a dog is sponsored by the Pet Project.
02:35The Pet Project will make sure
02:38that they have food
02:40and low-cost vet care
02:43for the rest of their life.
02:45It couldn't be easier
02:46to rescue a dog like this.
02:49And at seven years old,
02:51now her deal was
02:52she was with a family
02:54for what, like 30 days or so, right?
02:55Is that what you said?
02:56And then they had to move,
02:59they had to go,
03:00and so they had to hand her back.
03:01So this is a dog
03:01that's just desperate to have a family.
03:04And just the sweetest dog ever.
03:07If you're like me,
03:09you have children,
03:09I have three,
03:10and you want to keep them busy
03:11and get them involved in something,
03:12we really could use some volunteers there,
03:13wouldn't we?
03:14Our volunteers,
03:15you do have to be 16 years and older
03:17and to become a dog walker,
03:2018 years and older.
03:21We do give out service hours
03:23for students,
03:2518 years old,
03:26to interact more closely with the dogs
03:28and work with them.
03:29But you're more than welcome
03:30to sign up and help us out
03:32and just make a difference in their life.
03:34We also have this program
03:36by which somebody could foster the dog,
03:39keep the dog a while,
03:40see if you like the dog,
03:41kind of a trial period.
03:43How does that work?
03:44So basically,
03:46if you're not ready to adopt full time,
03:48then you can always foster.
03:50And let's say,
03:51have a little try with the dog
03:53before you make a commitment to adopting.
03:55So it's free of charge.
03:56Fostering is free of charge.
03:57We provide all the materials
03:58and you just provide the TLC.
04:01And we keep in touch, of course.
04:03We send you all the forms, surveys.
04:05And when you are ready to adopt,
04:07you just let us know
04:07and we simplify the process via email
04:10or you can come in
04:11and finalize the adoption as well.
04:13Thank you so much for having us.
04:15Oh, thank you.
04:16And you do a wonderful job.
04:18And whether you want to foster,
04:19whether you want to rescue a dog
04:22and adopt a dog,
04:23take it home,
04:24come on in here,
04:24meet all the dogs
04:25or go take a look
04:26at thebeachmiami.com.
